Great Reaction! Peyton Parrish ask Saltatio Mortis to make a Song with him. They make the Video in a Cave in Germany. Saltatio Mortis are a German Medival Folk Rock Band an 20 Years on Stage now. Check the Saltatio Mortis Songs ,,My Mother told me,, - ,,Pray to the Hunter,, and ,,The Dragon Age Comes,, or ,,LOKI Live Version,,.
All videos like this one from Saltatio Mortis are "old-school" - real persons with great costumes and real surroundings. They nearly never use CGI (only the dragon in "The Dragonborn comes").
@@BemusingBillYes, they made a great rock version of it mixing band performance and movie-like playing. It is one of their videos I like best. The (CGI-)dragon appears at the very end of the video, wait for it.
If you like this, you should listen to more" Saltatio Mortis ". All musicians are from this band and the higher singer. They make great videos, to songs like Pray to the hunter, The dragonbornes comes or My mother told me. Looks like direkt of the games or the medieval times.
Germany have al lot of Great Medival, Folk, Rock Bands. Check FEUERSCHWANZ, FAUN, SUBWAY TO SALLY, IN EXTREMO, Schandmaul and more with Hurdy Gurdy, Bagpipes other Instruments
What I can remember from the games - Kratos killed Ares and became the new God of War but never went by that title himself, this song is beautifully done. Peyton Parrish has done a lot of Disney Metal covers. you should check out Brothers of Metal's song Prophecy of Ragnarok if you want more Viking type of music since a lot of their songs have to do with the Norse Mythology.
If you want another movie-like experience, check out the latest Video of Saltatio mortis, this time featuring Blind guardian, "Finsterwacht" (in German, with English subtitles) It's a 11 minute movie in its own right. 😊
@@BemusingBillGreat. I am quite sure you'll enjoy it. If they do stuff like this, they do it because they are fans (of the period or the game), and it shows. 🙂 Their "Pray to the hunter" (Which was done for the game Elder Scrolls Online) is also very good (and it is in English).
Greetings, my fellow soldier! Thank you! I'm looking forward to getting to Sabaton and Tarot. Thanks for recommending Tribal. I'll add them to my list. Danke!
I know this video is a month old but, i see no one answered your question about Kratos' axe. Yes he does have it in the games! Its called the Levitation Axe, once thrown it can be summoned back to him. It was forged and given to him by two blacksmiths called Brok and Sindri. The axe is just one of the main weapons he used. His other is the Blades of Chaos. Which are two hand held blades connected by chains to Kratos' arms. The blades were given to him by a Greek god named Ares, who had harpies to fetch them for him.
So the music video is based off the more recent God of War Games that take place in the Norse myths after Kratos kills the Greek pantheon. The story of the newer games is focused on the growth of Kratos as a person, as a father, and as a God.
Judging by what you said you liked about the sound and the entire setting, you really need to check out a band called Heilung! Anything from the Lifa set of videos, but Krigsgaldr or In Maidean are good introductions. It'll be a very different experience but I think it's definitely right up your alley....
I have seen one of their videos and loved it! Can't remember what it was called but I loved all the hand made traditional instruments. You know me well my friend! Thank you!
I'd love to see your reaction to Bloodywood, Igorrr, and if you're interested in underground music gems I'd suggest checking out my favourite armenian band Rozen Tal (I am from Armenia myself). I'll put some links in the subcomments here. Thank you, Bill, I really love watching your reactions. You're an awesome man. ))
And Rozen Tal! )) I suggest one of my most favourite performances, because they're way-way-WAY much better live rather than on records (although the records are great, too). This particular one is in old armenian, the lyrics are an ancient prayer to God pleading redemption for sins. ruclips.net/video/Hu0-6seg4nQ/видео.htmlsi=v9u372lWH4N0r2A4
Or else check this out from Rozen Tal, it's one of their latest stuff. Most part of the lyrics is in English. ruclips.net/video/-0u01vOKpC0/видео.htmlsi=Mn7rt2sTiP0LD6mH
