I feel like things may be a little different this time. It'd take paragraphs to cover all the things that could cause a crash, but it's global this time. CRE, China's broken economy and real estate crisis, multiple wars, PE ratios of 40+ for NVDA, US debt spending (which could raise 10 Yr yields substantially), the deeply inverted yield curve, manufacturing has been in contraction for over a year and backlogs are shrinking, etc etc. I appreciate the point you've made though. It's true, no one can call the top. I have definitely positioned my portfolio more conservatively though.

If people are trying to call tops or tops of bubbles, they are gambling in a casino. There is no perfect system out there, it comes down to doing your research in fundamentals and technical analysis, as well as managing risk.
Name 10 people you know personally who can DTOR. That includes talking with a company’s management, suppliers, customers, competitors, and then developing and maintaining financial and operating metrics spreadsheets. And this is for every company they’re even considering investing in. Cuz THIS is what individual company research requires.
It would be interesting to see what kind of events took place, when bearish sentiment was overtaking the market and what key events took place to push it back up again. Cause technical analysis is great, but if you don't know what's pushing it in the first place... Correct me if i'm wrong, just trying to give valuable input! :)

The New York fed predicts there will be a 61% chance of a recession by Jan 2025, interest rate effects have lags, stock market indexes are basically tech etfs now, people can’t afford to live anymore the mania will end soon.
Once it turns there are so many fake lower highs on the way down the bears still will still be stopped out. Long (and for the long term) is the safest way to trade but not from levels where we are likely to see lower (in the months years to come). This is a trading holiday!

It’s called event investing (or whatever term you want to use) when you play the top. Your not trading or investing. Same as calling the bottom. You are looking for a few good scores throughout your lifetime. The business cycle and credit cycle are not sciences but they tell a story. The credit market much bigger than the equity market. Bears are dumb until you realize their business strategy is not to make a sustained profit. That’s what their salary/wages are for- living expenses, tuition, savings, vacations, luxury purchases etc. If you want to be a full time trader and look at screens till Kingdom come then sure it behooves you to grind out the bull market with the rest of the herd. QE to infinity and beyond will not cancel the recession though it certainly has delayed it. All things will be accounted for. The hour or day nobody knows. I call the top because I can, because I want to, because it’s fun, because it keeps me engaged. Emotions are good! Enjoy life!
