For all you little prepub kids out there that have no clue. I have raced 1/8 scale nitro at a national level for years in the US. And I now have a 1/5 scale. These things handle more like a full size. They do not handle like they are on rails like a light wieght 1/8 buggy. On a perfectly groomed track minus any bumps or rocks. Because 1/8 scales would be all over the place on a blown out loose track such as this. The1/5 scale is so much harder to drive. But more fun. You run 40 minutes a tank;)
Points or seconds should be taken for hitting other buggies. They should follow the rules of passing cars. The track is enormous, but it does need some water, or sections with water to make it more challenging.
I have to agree that even though the weight of 1/5ths changes things quite a bit, this track is definitely suffering from decent preparation...... Still fun to see though..
Well as far as handling the Losi 5t is very heavy near 40lbs, but the shocks are at least twice as big and it's a 4x4, it has superior stability over the hpi, and built tougher
They def look to fast for this track, not to mention the track looks like it was built with a plastic beach sand shovel. But looks fun as hell none the less.
it gets better pretty quick but for the few first seconds, I thought I was watching a mother-in-law race. Sheers anyway, nice mechanics and stunning perfs.
As RCs get larger, above about 1/8 scale, they begin to get heavier and behave more like 1:1 cars. Fullsize cars don't handle well compared to 1/8 RCs, so it stands to reason that large scale RCs won't handle very well compared to small scale RCs.
Woooow!!! that was EXTREEEEEEEM, THEM, got it love it, I need to get me one of those
no wonder people are so into the 5th scale races, this had to be the funniest i've ever seen in competition.
Great Video!

track could use some water....but nice race!
This is Largescale so all are powered by 2 stroke petrol motor's.They are all MCD's except one which is a Nutech Megabeetle
Pretty damn cool. Too bad there wasn't multiple cameras with more close up footage.
Man that looks like fun!
@SatchmoSings no. i wanted you to write your question in more detail
RAmpage xb had a good start but got cut off :/
You forgot to put jumps in your track.. just a heads up..

that looks like alot of fun... nasty lil things

At this scale, are the cars still electrically powered or do they run on a distillate?

lol at the clusterfuck at the front of the pack at 1:50 that must be so frustrating.
It looks challenging.
I would blame the track more than any of the cars or drivers, that track looks terrible...
sweet vid..
lmfao they look like drunk drivers. i was laughing soo hard!

Now that's racing !
those clutch bells gotta be hotter than all hell!
pro final of last man standing.
these guys are driving like they have a radioshack car
how much would a scale like that cost?
How come when I take my 1/5 hpi baja out it only lasts 2mins.. then something goes wrong and costs me £10 each time.. lol...
is this redcat nitro buggy or what? could someone tell us :)
Well I see what you mean, but I couldn't do any better, I'd slide out on every turn lol.
Gotta love all the "EXPERT" comments
@SatchmoSings what?
they only drive to the corners and then they get so slowed down
What a bloody nightmare.
I had no idea 1/5 scale buggies handled this badly...

PROS????
@hyper080 I already did that.
Cool
If they are pros then i must be like LEGEND LMAO AND IM 11
Gas vs Brushless
So cheating by short cutting the track? We used to actually race fair.
play the benny hill theme over this guys!!!!!
that was the worst start to a race ive ever seen haha! Entertaining!
@hyper080 I see English is not your first language.
Lol "pros"? If those are pros then something is wrong.
This is a 1/10 scale track. No wonder it looks so bad.
Ahahaha the driving is like i gave remote pistol to my kid... NOOBS
and they steer like amateurs
lol i am 12 years old and i handle an mcd even better than they because they dont even know what braking is
PRO?? they cant go 20 feet without crashing into each other or flipping, lmao
The drivers were kinda crap and the course was cheap
It would be better if it was alllllll traxxas
gross
