It's the sultanate that made her bad like others. She lost all her sons in fraticide and lost her house and it's obvious that you've to do such things to survive in that black palace
In reality, he died of typhus. Safiye Sultan wasn’t as terrible as they portray her-she was terrible still. However, Kösem was much more terrible than they portray her-she killed two of her own sons, attempted the murder of her own grandson. Thank god, Tall Sulieman Agha intervened and strangled her to death in her room with her own hair. She left very ungracefully, unlike who died naturally at the old palace when she was receiving 3,000 aspers a day (the largest sum a woman has ever got).

Kosm was utterly selfish and a cad, Iskinder took risk and saved her several times, she did not have that remote gratitude and killed him mercilessly. I wonder what would have happened has Iskinder was alive after Ahmet's death!
If Iskender was alive after Ahmed's death then all of Ahmed's sons and Mustafa, his brother, would have been put to death. If he didn't give the order himself then Safiye certainly would have. Absolutely nothing good would have come out of it for Ahmed's family. That's why Humasah is so furious with her mother---her brother might well have lived if their mother hadn't styled him into a complete threat.

@@Redluna32, even if this Iskender story was concocted and my thought was hypothetical, the way you presented the other side of possibility is good, i liked the way you put forth your view
@ Thank you! It's a tough one for me because I love Iskender's character in this. Much as I understand the hows and whys of his death, I still cry during it.
All the costumes for this series was incredible. Unfortunately, I've read that historically the women of that time didn't actually dress that way, as it was a bit too revealing. Still, one can dream.
@@jodrew1845a bit too revealing? 😒 Actually it was totally unacceptable, because it wasn’t national clothes of Turks! Costumes in series is european clothing style 🤦🏻♀️ I read that women in the harem wore bloomers 🫢

I am glad that her daughter stands up to Safiye
Safiye felt no remorse for poisoning her grandson, how bad
Jhonn Erazo did handan had remorse for having an affair and hiding her husbands poisoner.
