Hi Jeff, I think you forgot to mention the moving iron type of needle-type of meters. Those do measure the RMS of the signal because of how the magnetic field gets generated and interacts with the field of the iron.
It blows my mind that I’m casually able to get this is the type of information for free! Thank you!

Is it wrong to say I have six multimeters of various types. One is a VTVM from Heathkit. Great informational video Jeff.
Even till the late 80's , Sony would recommend a VTVM for measurements if their manuals.
