Carman, praise God for your life and ministry. You were used by God to break many barriers of religiousness with the American Christian Church and abroad. You paved the way and gave a helping hand to groups like DC Talk & T-Bone; so many others were indirectly blessed by your ministry.
Not to mention the numerous Believers who were encouraged and Non-Believers who were Saved or at minimum exposed to the Gospel.
It was a privilege to meet you in my childhood. May God continue to bless you.
I too was raised on Carmen. What a mighty man of God. He broke many barriers spiritually and physically. There was no black and white, no male female. He used all genres of music new and old. I haven't seen these videos in 30 years and they still made me jump up and praise and dance. What a blessing God saved him for such a time and I was so glad God gave him a wife cause I sure did want to marry him but he was about 15yrs too old for me!!!! I love you Carman, there will never be another like you!!!!

I remember watching this on the revival in the land vhs. Probably the first rap song I ever heard. I remember being a kid and always wanting to run up a wall and do a backflip, haha. The first song I wrote on my grandmother's typewriter when I was 6, I sampled the chorus from this song. Good times. I like the gang analogy too.
I wanted to do a backflip too lol. I so remember this vhs. I think I almost wore out. This was my jam when I was a child. I still love this.
Bringing back some childhood memories in 2020. I grew up listening to carman. He was one of the first Christian artist that I was first introduced to. He was always different and had a unique way of preaching the gospel through song.
Rest in peace to my All Time Favorite gospel artist. I have been a huge fan of his music since I was 8 years old. His music Always brought me closer to God through every hard time I have ever gone through. Me and my family were able to see him in concert over a dozen times growing up. The world just lost an international treasure, but Heaven just gained an outstanding soldier in God's Army. Rest In Peace Carman. Thank you for bringing me closer to my Lord and Savior.

I hated rap when the greatest singer of all time released this, but, I loved (and still love) Resurrection Rap! GOD used this man mightily for the Gospel of Grace and I know Carman was appointed the Heavenly Choir director when he walked through those Beautiful Gates! We will soon be reunited, Brother. Rest in the Glory of CHRIST JESUS!

Wow, I was so sad for the Earth's (our loss) of Carmen ... God's gain! His creation and property. I was a little bothered at my Beloved Christ when He allowed Carmen to leave us, but He is Abba Papa. Oh for crying out loud. I know for a fact that Carman led more people to heaven than artists who may call themselves a Christian but never mention Jesus ever in their songs! At least Carman gave the message of the Gospel with his music. A genre is just a genre! It's like this: bricks are made to build bars and clubs. They're also used to build churches and prayer houses. Now that you know that the same material used to build God's houses are the same materials to build devilish places where sex, drinking, and shooting up have dominion, would you stop going to church then?

@@jasonwilkins4864 Don't get me wrong. I completely agree with your first statement, but no matter how much you attempt to justify, that didn't even answer my question. Let me say it this way. Jesus didn't come for the righteous to repent, but He came to die for the whole world (I repeat, the WHOLE world). Now, sometimes (and I mean sometimes) the only way to get the WHOLE world to listen to the Gospel these days is to bring it in a way they can understand it and want to receive it. Just like you can't go to Japan and sing "Jesus Paid It All" in English; they'll look at you like you're from mars. You gotta learn the language. Will singing it in Japanese change the overall message? Of course not. In the same way, how else is God supposed to reach a straight up, urban, culture-based generation of the times when all he got is a bag full of 19th century hymns? They probably wouldn't receive it. Now, I'm not saying the message of the Gospel needs to be watered down in order to be spread across, what I mean is if you want to offer the good news to even these, you gotta at least learn their language, otherwise you'd be left with a lot of talk, but very few response. Now, the Gospel put to culture-based music is not meant to be the alternative to the sacred, but only a mere tool in the hands of God to reach those, especially the young people, who are hurt and dying. I believe we serve a God who is willing to do WHATEVER it takes to bring people to him, because there's not much time left. Believe me, you may not see it now, and you may criticize this all you want, (and who knows, maybe you ARE right and what I'm saying doesn't turn out to be Biblically accurate), but just maybe, when you and I stand before God and it turns out that many have been saved under Carman's ministry, I wouldn't be surprised that in the end, all he really wanted in life was to "Serve The Lord" (as he says it very plainly in one of his other songs. Check it out if you haven't).

Actually there is no tomb for Buddha - tradition has it that Buddha disappeared into Nirvana. Mohammad was only considered a prophet, not divine. The tomb of Jesus is nowhere to be found because there is doubt as to his actually existing.
Got a great book for you to read: Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. It will erase your doubts, I am willing to bet.

PS - it is wrong on many, many counts.
You haven't done enought research to made that kind of statement. If you really want the truth, dig a little deeper. The trouble is, when you do find more evidence FOR than AGAINST Jesus having risen from the dead--- then your real delema begins...do you close your eyes and turn away (the easy thing most choose to do) or make the choice to change and give your life to this risen Savior. The Case For The Real Jesus by Strobel. If you really don't want the truth don't worry-- you won't find it.
If you really, honestly want to know the truth, you will find it. That is the real question. Ask Jesus to reveal himself to you. If you want that. He will do it. Eternity gets here pretty darn fast, life is so short. And not being afraid of death is pretty cool by itself!

Funny how you think the colors of the guys portraying Christ and Satan actually matter as long as the message gets through. By the way, some of the characters portraying the Disciples in this video happen to be black, and the gang leader of the "evil side" (Satan) is actually half Latino. So, your statement is pure ignorance.
