We actually live in a beautiful part of the country, but we can get so immersed in the day to day grind that we can't step back and appreciate what we have around us. It's not all about the 1 mile square around the town centre, and the drone perspective really brings that home. Great video, which must have taken days of shooting and hours of editing.
I lived here from 1970 to 1980 before emigrating to the USA. The town has changed a lot from what I saw with a lot of modern 'stuff'. I loved the sand stone houses and the 'cut'. The people in Burnley were the nicest people ever. I have many fond memories working for Lucas's at Woodtop Works, now long gone. Do Pie and Peas still rule in the pubs and is the Alma still in business?
Born in Burnley in 1945, moved away in 1998, so I know the place very well, thought drone footage was excellent, can pause & take in the view easily, thanks for sharing.
@@SHlV Are you one of them? Your butt hurt is weird, you either stay at home all day long (so you dont see them crocked weird twisted people walking around toothless around the city), or you must be one of them 🤣
Great film, but spoiled a little by jumping onto another section much too quickly, you do not have much time to take in the lovely shots, would love to see another taking in more of the surrounding areas in the Burnley district such as Hapton, Padiham, etc...
It looks better from above. However, it's my town though a little rough round the edges, it will always be my home, no matter where I roam. I tried to make that sound as poetic as I could. 😁
Burnley has got its beauty it's situated near to Dales, Lakes and Peaks with Bowland a hop away. As with all towns there is undeveloped undesirable places and people live there too. It's come a long way from the 70s there is still much to do outside of the town if the Councillors would just stop the back biting and develop more services, areas in common agreement.

I truly loathe modern editing philosophy. This should be a mini-documentary not a music video high speed collage. RUclips no longer allows full screen pause which means none of these interesting views can be studied. If each view were ten seconds then rewind and review would be viable even with RUclips deleting the useful pause feature of its free service.
I was rather disappointed like you. I didn't expect fleeting back 'n' forth images that were really too brief to appreciate. The dramatic music was a bit off putting too. Though I'm lucky in that I can actually pause it on full screen on my tablet. But one really shouldn't have to press pause (if possible) on what seems at first glance to be a professionally made video.
Brilliant Burnley It certainly looks professional :) I am guessing they had extended CAA permissions to fly over congested areas and within 150m of built up areas? Not trying to be a nuisance here....just keen to know how you got the early shots. Either way its a lovely film.
I was interested in buying a drone but have since found out that it’s illegal to fly within 150metres of a built up area.....also Burnley Council have banned Drones being flown over Towneley Park or any Council owned park land and most Councils have done the same! So the only lawful place to fly a drone these days is probably farm land with the land owners permission or of course to own lots of land in the middle of nowhere yourself. The majority of drone footage published on RUclips is highly illegal and people have been prosecuted for flying over built up areas and a disregarding CAA laws

Nice shots of my old town, I worked for BT. Left there in 1990 and now living my days out in Perth Western Australia.
Same old shitty town centres and grey/brown buildings with narrow streets and terraced housing that u see sprouted up in all of uk towns and cities
From Kuwait: I ❤️ Burnley

A lot of pubs turned into restaurants as well, don’t really see pie and peas anymore unfortunately
Of course you see our and peas!!
As for the pubs- well it’s been a dying trade for years now. A real shame
Think the Alma is one of the few Accy road pubs still open. I'm not 100 percent , but I think it is.
You can use Google earth's street view.
Burnley looks well nice I never noticed how beautiful it actually is

Lovely video. Born in Burnley. Left when I could. It doesn’t show bleak house or Rosehill council estates.

Great work! I work for a non profit in Oswaldtwistle, any chance I could use a few seconds of this as b-roll in some editing I'm doing?
Great video, love Burnley, what is the small football and cricket club early in the film?

Hey is there a way to purchase the drone footage..raw and un edited?
Hi, please email bondholders@burnley.co.uk
Decent film shots, spoiled by rather too much "flicking about" for my liking.
Love the Cliviger Gorge shot! - Looks straight out of Lord of the Rings..

Agree with you entirely. The music was irrelevant, and.... I don't remember it being that green.
Lovely shots but surely not lawful flying? What if it falls out of the sky?
Hi, the drone pilot has a pilot's license and is fully insured.
