America is all flat and straight roads? The Appalachian mountains, Rocky Mountains, Sierra Nevada Mountains. And many other ranges filled with elevation changes and stunning scenery. Rolling hills and valleys all over the place. Coastal roads where it's rare to find a straight stretch. Ok, the central plains might fit your description. American roads are however a rival to anything globally for all round motorcycle enjoyment and 2 wheeled "heaven".
You need to reevaluate your opinion on America's roads! 😂. There's more twisty roads than you think. And its not all big cities and flat plains you are showing.
ehere's a reason to get a sport touring bike instead of an ADV bike, you're too short to get an ADV bike, seriously, modern tall rounder and ADV bike are basically touring bike, but more comfortable, if you wanna crunch mile, there is noi better cathegory
My family has a picture of our grandfather, with his new bride (our grandmother), on his Indian Scout circa 1920ish. I've loved that picture since I was a kid and is probably why I ride. Haven't got to the stage of a cruiser style bike as yet, but I do really like the latest Indian Scouts.
"It's like cornering a lounge chair..." My old '94 Honda Silver Shadow ACE and the Long Tom pass... There is just something about long road trips on a Cruiser.
Why did you show the BMW RT dash ? Really doing the wrong thing there for the viewers. Did you think we wouldn’t see the speakers at the side of the 10” dash as well. Very poor
Adventure bike does not mean you have to ride off road. In fact, they are much more comfortable over distance than a sport tourer of a feet forward cruiser. I've owned bikes in all three categories. 1989 Suzuki R1100F Katana sport tourer, a 1995 R1100GS BMW and a 2016 Indian Scout. The GS won all around for big miles without feeling fatigued after two hours of riding.
That's about all the big GS is good for, if you want a bike that's gonna give you any thrill or fun the GS isn't it. I really wanted to like the 1250 I had but in the end it was just so boring.
Thanks Don for the interesting comparison.Did you say Americans ride their cruisers over long distances? From what I've observed they tend to load them onto trailers to travel interstate ! LoL
Im 65 and just back from a solo 4k mile round trip on Euro roads in 11 days, ok i had 6 days over 500 miles - all done on a R1250 GS. - nothing better in my opinion - you can keep these 3. 👍🏻
this is really a strange comparison.. Absolutely 3 different machines with different porpouse and different clients, You could have tested with the same logic suzuki hayabusa and Harley fat boy
No it's good to see the comparison, im looking at buying another bike that I'll use for touring. I'm undecided between an adventure bike or a sports tourer like the gsxs1000gt. Obviously I'll be needing a test ride to decide but I enjoyed the video

Well said!
People living in western countries appear to forget that 90% of the worlds roads are unpaved.
The title needs a correction :)
People sleep on the BMW R1250RS so hard that they don't even bother to get the model name right. Apparently also the case with the Honda Transalp.
@@caferacerqu33n Apologies, Mat's cancer brain wasn't operating so well yesterday morning. Correction made.

Might want to change part of the title from Africa Twin to Transalp
Looks like a Transalp. Not an African twin as per the title.
The deterioration of african roads is at times "off-road"

Love the scout . Have a picture of my grandfather circa 1910 with his Indian motorcycle. Cant beat that!!🆒😎🤘!

Out of that trio, I'd have the Beemer.
Single sided swinging arms look best when obscured by exhausts.
😂
These are the best comparisons - completely different types of bikes. I like the enthusiasm for American cruisers. Thanks!

The title is wrong! "Africa Twin"?!?
So the point of this video is ?????
America is flat and straight he says 🤣
Transalp is my next bike. What a great allrounder as a transalp should be
the word is trans ..not trarns
My long lanky frame would probably need the Honda to be comfortable for max distance.

Quite a lot of negative comments here but I enjoyed the video and thought it was an interesting comparison. The conclusions were spot on !
The... Honda Trans-Twin African Alps?
Massive error with your title. Not an Africa twin!

Hmm - not this American rider. Significant adventure riding culture here as well as long distance touring.
Great to hear that 👍
America has every kind of riding. That’s why we love our performance baggers.
What's the equivalent to the Stelvio, though?
" baggers" only in the US thank god 😂
