Couldn't really predict just how big SM2 got, bear in mind these boxes were probably planned up to a year ago and printed way before sm2 was released, Lots of people seems to think just because you are a medium sized company you can suddenly do stuff just cos you have the money. I know some small business owners and most of them put in their Xmas order serval months in advanced and most have to guess what will actually be popular at xmas.
Cities and Ironjawz are perfect to me. Cities gives you a wide variety of all new models, and is a great box for Warcry. Ironjawz gives you options for two reinforced units and also all new models. While Ironjawz is yet to be seen, the cities spearhead combos so well- providing support for what’s lacking between boxes.
I wonder if logistical lead times precluded trying to cash in on Space Marine 2 for the battleforces. I've seen talk that these boxes are also viewed as a way to move overstock (see what appears to be an exact version of the 2014 big knight box in the knight battleforce) which implies not wanting to actually manufacture anything for them. The latter also would mean that a Thousand Suns battleforce would well be just all Tzangors.
No one in my playgroup plays nurgle, who I love have death guard in 40k as well. Being fortunate enough to have most of the old start collecting blight kings, and grabbing the spearhead at discount, this box gives me almost 2500 points of nurgle so all 5 chaos gods and slaves are represented in our play group. Easily cheapest 2k points I've ever done.
I’m going to try and get the dark angels box and convert most of it to my custom chapter, and I really want the transfers for a side project especially. If I can I’ll get the tau box too just because I don’t have those robots yet
I actually love the sisters box, I started out with the army starter set (no rhino) and piety and pain, then regularly bought the next 3 battle forces that came out in the subsequent years 2021,2022 and 2024. So I don't own any of these units. In some way I think GW catered those those who just buy value sets because this one is so different from the previous 3 :)
Others have mentioned that this box feels like a way for existing players to branch out into a Penitent Host army more so than a way to get started with the faction with the two Rhinos being the only weird part. They still don't rate it as a good box (again, two Rhinos), but they do get the reasoning
Thanks for watching and subscribing everyone I really appreciate it!

Great list, definitely agree the lack of Space Marines and Thousand Sons is wild.
