We want to surprise people in our community with random acts of kindness and leave you with some feel good moments.
We recently learned about Orland Bailey. For nearly 20 years, he visited Mrs. Powell’s, several Albertsons stores, Perkins and other businesses every day to pick up day-old bakery items. He would then donate the goods to organizations around town including the Soup Kitchen, low income apartment complexes, The Haven, domestic violence shelters and more.
Orland recently passed away while on a bread run with his grandson and great grandson. He was doing what he loved - serving others.
His son, Rob Bailey, and grandson, Jesse Heir, are continuing Orland’s legacy by picking up the items a few days a week and delivering them to the same places.
We met up with them to hear the inspiring story and give them some gas cards to help cover fuel expenses.

Discipline and charity, a life lived well, and now passing on as an admirable family tradition.
Imagine if EVERYONE would take just a couple hours per week and help others in need. What a beautiful place it could be. Many people are worried about not being able to give or help much... they are missing a huge point though. It's not the giving part that makes it incredible. It's simply showing another human being that you care. That alone, means the world to people. We all just want to know that we aren't alone, and that others care.
Oh my word. My heart goes out to his family and everyone that knew him. What a wonderful man and caring soul.

Orland the world would be a better place if more people were blessed with the love, kindness, compassion and caring that you so abundantly possessed. RIP your Sir were and remain a SAINT!
So glad he passed away doing what he loved to do instead of some nursing home waiting for others to care. He may never know how much he helped others or lifted their days but he wasn't it for the attention only that he cared that people in a tough spot had their belly's full regardless how they got into a tough spot. I for one had angels who cared and let me tell you how much having food to eat changes everything. As one of the comments said, rest now your work is done here on earth, may you rest in peace ❤

I am a Muslim and deep in my heart may he rest in peace. God is loving and caring. May his reward be heaven, God has given all of us love and compassion. Loving implies helping other giving and not receiving is a way of life. In our book those whom help others go to heaven, not just to others but other kinds such animals and plants a like. We all share this beautiful world may god fill us with love and compassion just like your Grandpa.
