    Cody, there is likely a shim/washer behind the A/C clutch plate. Take the washer out and then test the A/C. If it works, you dont need a new compressor.

      Hey bro, thanks for the info! After I finished changing these hoses I actually popped the A/C pulley off and I didn’t see any spacers! I saw another video and the guy had like 3, so maybe the previous owner already removed them in mine? Crazy, but I think I’ll just have to purchase a new pulley/ A/C clutch

    Man, I understand your frustration. Thanks for showing us your problems. It's definitely helping us out. Hopefully we can learn from each other.
    I'm convinced when you mess with things half the time you end up making it worse.

      100% bro. I tell people all the time, I love my truck and what I’ve done to it, but if I could go back I would have left everything stock 🤣

      Even tuner exhaust air🎉filter ? Just cause I’m looking to pull the plug on a mint 2001 f 350 all done up head to toe for 13,500 same as yours but short bed and not such big lift

    • @NoHalfAss

      @@dannysavagedraftguru Air filter and exhaust and tuner I recommend for sure. Other than that I would probably just upgrade things “as needed”. In other words if the turbo goes out, replace it with a better one, injectors go out, get better ones, etc. BUT that’s only because I’ve never been the type to really enjoy automechanical work. I love my truck and the build it’s become but I don’t enjoy working on it 😂 if you like working on your vehicles and changing parts, and doing upgrades is fun for you then go for it!

    That’s why I went with the other mod for the AC yours basically works by just blocking the heater Core line which builds pressure like you said which can potentially cause a blowout the one I got when the vacuum triggers the valve instead it loops the water through With two hose connections from heater core when it’s in normal use it’s open and runs through the heater core when you trigger the valve with max AC it opens other hoses connection and sends it back through the system so you’re still allowing fluid transfer without building pressure. I would recommend you switch to that one and if I remember right the price is about the same I can’t remember where I got it if it was Riff Raff or some other diesel site.

    I get 7-8 degrees difference at the vents here in az. The bypass valve is worth it but I have had several of them go bad and leak coolant. Buy the ford brand valve

    Another tip while you have that hose off take the other one off take your garden hose run water through it one way then do it the other way through the other hose flush that heater core out real good just flush the whole coolant system as well cuz the heater core does get clogged up and they start to leak as well and you don't want that you want your coolant system always real clean cuz the heater cores do brake its not fun it gets pretty wet inside the cab of your truck just a tip

    You should of used the 2 hose mod looks like you were causing a blockage I used a valve and my ac is freezing cold Al the time in the 40s even at night it’s almost uncomfortable after aug I will open the valve again where I live it gets about 105 degrees out and everything helps with freezing cold ac makes a huge difference and cleaning the condenser and the evaporator and the fan motor 😂 it has a bypass system they all it on Amazon open it lets it flow into the heater core closed it bypassed the heater core or you can do the dual valve vacuum mod I don’t like it

    What is the temperature get to at idle to siting not moving to be honest 210 211 moving on a highway on a warm day with no load it should be a little bit lower that definitely means your fan clutch is going out I'm about 90% sure that's what's wrong with your AC

    • @NoHalfAss
      @NoHalfAss  6 месяцев назад

      That’s good to know! I honestly couldn’t tell you for sure what temperature it gets to when idleing but I know it’s no where near 200°. Maybe 150° ? I didn’t even know the fan clutch failing could cause much of a difference on the engine oil temperature. I took the clutch plate off to see if I had the spacers inside and maybe I could remove a spacer to help the clutch engage better and there wasn’t any spacers at all, so I’m thinking the previous owner already removed them.

    • @robertfisk8344
      @robertfisk8344 6 месяцев назад

      @@NoHalfAss yeah when the fan clutch goes out it's hard to notice it won't overheat but it'll be warmer than normal but it will definitely affect the AC performance if you have gauges you can check it that way too hook them up and if the high pressure side is anywhere over 150 to 200 250 at idol that means it's your fan clutch cuz it's not transferring the heat out of your condenser with the fan cuz there's no flow of air that's another way you can check

    • @NoHalfAss

  • @robertfisk8344
    @robertfisk8344 6 месяцев назад

    check your fan clutch it's possibly not pulling enough air through the condenser it'll cause it not to get cool I went through the whole AC system on my truck until I figured out it was the fan clutch the whole time because it's strange it won't overheat the truck when it doesn't engage as well but it does get a little warmer when not working properly and that valve you put on it doesn't create more pressure when completely shut ❤because where you cut it off the pressure comes from your water pump so it flows in that direction it's just an old hose and started leaking cuz you're moving it around when you put that thing on because if you take that valve off you can actually blow on it and it lets a little bit of water passed not much so I think it's just an old house I don't have that valve on my truck and my AC is pretty cool without it and I live in Florida I don't trust them because they're plastic and they do break and they start leaking and I'm speaking from experience on that one let's just say the juice ain't worth the squeeze having that valve and you get stranded I would check your fan clutch and start with that if that checks out define take your condenser out and rinse it not talking about the one on the front of the truck one in the air box under your hood it's not very hard to take out there's a RUclips video might be really dirty because it's an old truck best of luck

    • @NoHalfAss
      @NoHalfAss  6 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the info Robert! I was curious about the pressure. I wasn’t completely sure how that valve worked so o didn’t know if it made the pressure build so thank you for that! I will definitely start with the fan clutch and see if that helps! It’s been awhile since we talked, I hope you’re doing well!
