I forgot to mention two things: 1- Luggage tags currently are no longer being sold at the Maison Fifth Avenue store in NYC. Apparently, they were being resold on the Asian market at a terribly high markup. 2 - On March 18, the eighth fragrance from Vuitton arrived, Le Jour Se Lève ("The Daybreak"). It is a citrusy, floral, musk scent. The citrus opening of the Mandarin orange sold me. It revived all of my senses. The jasmin came through on my skin immediately after. On my dry skin, the sillage was poor; probably two hours at best. For jasmin lovers, this is one worth trying.
Point 1 (very interesting). Point 2 (I have tried it as well. Interesting drydown. Very much recognizable as a LV but does last a short while only...)... xoxo
I noticed that another review also mentioned the short lasting power of this latest LV scent. There is a common note in these fragrances, much like the Guerlinade found in most Guerlain perfumes. However, I cannot tell what it is. I would say that the fragrance world has made me think about studying fragrances at Grasse, France.

Its a very dark brown... like black... and can appear black in the right light and dark brown in other light... it definitely has a red base to the dark tones so light changes everything...

(sorry for being off topic) Someone in the comments mentioned being offended that you made a disparaging remark about the box being made in China. I applaud LV's transparency in that respect...how easy would have it been not to print anything on the box? Given LVMH's global reach, we would have assumed that it was produced elsewhere simply because it makes good business sense to have "consumable" items made elsewhere (dust covers, ribbons, bags etc.) Does China produce quality goods? Yes, and they do, but I'm with you in insisting that luxury goods be produced in the country of their brand origin. That's also a good business decision, especially given the price of luxury goods and what they are actually selling, which is exclusivity. There will always be exceptions to the rule, such as eyeglasses produced under license by Luxottica. Italians do a really good job of making eyeglass frames. I am wearing Persol frames (which come from that evil empire) Would I have purchased them if they said made in China? Nope. Not at that price point! The case they came with had the ubiquitous little gold China sticker on the back, and that's fine. I'm not wearing the case...in fact I don't even know where it is! I guess what I'm trying to say in this VERY long post is until China has a respected luxury marque, their standing as a producer of goods for others will always be just that--an outsourced maker (Miranda Priestly voice) Of Stuff. xoxo

Before you opened it I knew what it was because wanna laugh when I first saw it you were one of the first people I said it would look Fab on because it was old school style spray some apple guard spray in the purple can Dacob I swear it does nothing to the leather over time I have it on my oldest bags up to my newest bags no need to cover the canvas once dry take a water wipe to the canvas or a damp cloth and wipe the canvas where there is no vachetta ,amazing sells the apple guard spray I actually had a chance to test it (not on purpose ) coming out of work it was sprinkling then down poured out of now where as soon as I got it in my car I took the towel I keep in it for these emergencies and it literally beaded up and wiped right off , no staining at all I can’t believe how great it worked on my Pochette Metis no less which is quite similar to the pieces on your new bum bag I hope you will trust me enough to try it it truly saved my vachetta from having water spots ! Gorgeous Takashi when Lv was awesome ! Xoxo oh by the way the squishy is what they did to the new speedys hence my reason for selling them and replacing them with older models ,LV has been having quality issues left and right I hope you have no issues st all it suits you and Looks great !

I did check out the newer speedies in the boutique but they had a less flexible canvas than the bumbag so I am not sure if they didn't switch things up again but as for the bumbag, I am liking the canvas consistency... makes sense to me for a piece that needs to bend and twist alot... The canvas on my Murakami keepall 45 would be too stiff and hard for the bumbag. But only time will tell if the softer canvas will keep its quality. I will report in the near future ;) xoxo

I throw it in the bag, I put it in my pockets, I put it in my jackets... its been through a lot and its like a tank. Its got a great patina with time but it keeps going and I’ve had it since around 2012! I say definitely yes to LV wallets! Well, Virgil has a precise opinion and idea about LV which I find interesting. I will be closely looking at what he shows us this coming June at men's pAris Fashion Week! But coming from China, that split second really makes me feel uncomfortable and even a little offended. “Made in China” nowadays means way more than dollar store. Club Monaco, Coach, etc. These brands choose China for a reason not only because it’s comparatively cheaper but also delivers good quality. So please respect. :)
Simon Du Don't be offended, with the high end brands you pay for exclusivity and sure, even Chinese factories can and are able to create leather goods but if you buy a European brand and you pay that much you expect European craftsmanship done in Europe, yes including the package. Imagine it would be the other way around, you buy a beautiful jade comb from a reputable Chinese artist or producer and then you get something which is not even done in China, cost aside, you bought somethinghing and it's not even from there. All that aside, don't be hating on Dacob... he doesn't deserve it. He buys stuff and he cares from where it comes and how it is produced and also he presents it to us in such a authentic, thorough way - he didn't even express an opinion on the packaging, he just said it is done in China, that's all, don't read into something he didn't even express. Simon Du i am glad you spoke up. The iPhone is also made in china and Apple found that they couldn't make an apple without using Foxconn and their strict standards. Now Apple certainly isn't a Chinese product and no one is dissing that fact (except trump who has now given enough tax incentive for Foxconn to go to USA and set up a factory) that the Apple iPhone is made in china.

I am not a fan of the CHANEL bumbag since I do not like patent leather. Looks plasticky and yes, to me the CHANEL bumbag would be too small but I understand that it would fit your size better. I personally think you should never think of trends and fashion phases. If you like something, get it not because its trendy at the moment. Get it because you love it. If you love it, you will not care about trends coming and going. If you wish to buy the CHANEL bumbag because it is trendy then I would recommend not getting it at all since that would be a waste of money. If you decide to go for the CHANEL bumbag then maybe I would suggest you get the black one because you might get more milage out of it. Its a tricky call. CHANEL used to make great bumbags a few years back for half the price they ask for them today... but times have changed. If you like patent glossy leather and smaller bumbags and the new shapes CHANEL offers this season then I say go for it.

Congratulations on your fanny pack. Its curvature makes it ideal to either across the bum or the chest. You are right about the creased points where the canvas meets the handle. Maybe gentle caresses with your hands will eliminate any potential cracking. In the future, Vuitton should consider using leather at those gathering points. I enjoyed the article that you shared on Virgil Abloh. Each artistic director brings something unique to the table. Hopefully Mr. Abloh will swing it in a positive direction. Quite frankly, he should start with the footwear department, or have Vuitton stop making sneakers all together. They are HIDEOUS.

I was in the London boutique at the beginning of the month and they had 0. Then my friend was in Harrods they had 0. It cannot be ordered online and I've called Customer Services too many times to count and they always say they've got X amount in Selfridges but then you can't get a SA. Help me! I don't know what to do. Do you think it's possible to call the store (either LV or Selfridges) and pre-pay it and ask them to mail it to me? Chanel at Harrods do that (on some items) but I don't know about Louis Vuitton. XOXO

Why don't you go to Selfridges to check it out? I would call Selfridges and ask them to connect me to LV... in case they cannot then I would go there personally and say customer service told me that they had a few in stock. If they still say no, then I would ask for them to order one for me. They would then in the sotre probably ask you to pre-pay it like they told me to pre-pay the bumbag... Good luck hunting! xoxo
Hi Dacob, many thanks for your quick reply. When I was in London at the time they did not have any in-stock in Selfridges, nor in the New Bond Street store, nor Harrods. When I returned home, the next day I called LV Customer Service and they said Selfridges had just gotten some in that day. I rarely visit London as it's quite far away and rather expensive via train so I likely won't be going next until July, but I'm off to Rome in June and a Toiletry Pouch is a must! I'm going to keep pestering them on the telephone and pray that they'll allow me to pre-pay and send me one via mail. If not then I guess I can try the LV store in Rome. Lots of love. XOXO

I don't think its a bummer. I am pointing out possible flaws but only time will tell if it is a flaw. Depends how the canvas material will react to time passing. So for now its just a cautionary note from my end. I still love the idea that they managed to make the entire back of the bag out of one piece of material. That is actually more difficult than to cut it up in many smaller pieces.
When I first saw “bummer” I thought nooooo it’s “ bum .... bag”...haha.....they were also called fanny packs I think. Are you taking it to a Cannes? It looks like very functional bag, a little roomer than most of the vintage ones. You are so happy...

Before you opened it I knew what it was because wanna laugh when I first saw it you were one of the first people I said it would look Fab on because it was old school style spray some apple guard spray in the purple can Dacob I swear it does nothing to the leather over time I have it on my oldest bags up to my newest bags no need to cover the canvas once dry take a water wipe to the canvas or a damp cloth and wipe the canvas where there is no vachetta ,amazing sells the apple guard spray I actually had a chance to test it (not on purpose ) coming out of work it was sprinkling then down poured out of now where as soon as I got it in my car I took the towel I keep in it for these emergencies and it literally beaded up and wiped right off , no staining at all I can’t believe how great it worked on my Pochette Metis no less which is quite similar to the pieces on your new bum bag I hope you will trust me enough to try it it truly saved my vachetta from having water spots ! Xoxo oh by the way the squishy is what they did to the new speedys hence my reason for selling them and replacing them with older models ,LV has been having quality issues left and right I hope you have no issues st all it suits you and Looks great !

I did check out the newer speedies in the boutique but they had a less flexible canvas than the bumbag so I am not sure if they didn't switch things up again but as for the bumbag, I am liking the canvas consistency... makes sense to me for a piece that needs to bend and twist alot... The canvas on my Murakami keepall 45 would be too stiff and hard for the bumbag. But only time will tell if the softer canvas will keep its quality. I will report in the near future ;) xoxo
Super Dacob I agree like my Pochette Metis needed a more flexible canvas but speedys I think need a bit stiffer glad you love it and yes the apple guard rain repellent will not harm your vachetta I promise you just protects it

Getting a new wallet soon and there is a brand new LV boutique in my city, would a louis vuitton house branding wallet be a good choice? I love the designs of them but are they worth it quality wise? Would love your insight. Great video as always!
Thanks James :) I have a zippy compact monogram canvas wallet from LV and I use it every single day. I throw it in the bag, I put it in my pockets, I put it in my jackets... its been through a lot and its like a tank. Its got a great patina with time but it keeps going and I’ve had it since around 2012! I say definitely yes to LV wallets! Well, Virgil has a precise opinion and idea about LV which I find interesting. I will be closely looking at what he shows us this coming June at men's pAris Fashion Week! I read an article from the NYTIMES. Here is a bit from the article I found interesting: "Mr. Burke (executive at Vuitton) added, “Louis Vuitton was not a couture house. From the mid-19th century to the 1920s and beyond it always sought to cater to the new wealthy class, not the old aristocrats.”Mr. Abloh also said he would be focused on rethinking how the brand communicated with its consumers, including the release of products, the runway show and the way it interacted with the global political mood." - Then Abloh goes on to say another thing which I found a bit far stretched and too perfect for today's times...: “Product is only one part of the luxury narrative,” Mr. Abloh said in the phone interview. “I want to use Louis Vuitton’s history with travel to really look at different cultures around the world to help make all our humanity visible. Not sure what you were thinking at 3:03 Jacob. I’ve been a loyal subscriber of channel. But coming from China, that split second really makes me feel uncomfortable and even a little offended. “Made in China” nowadays means way more than dollar store. Club Monaco, Coach, etc. These brands choose China for a reason not only because it’s comparatively cheaper but also delivers good quality. So please respect. :)

Don't be offended, with the high end brands you pay for exclusivity and sure, even Chinese factories can and are able to create leather goods but if you buy a European brand and you pay that much you expect European craftsmanship done in Europe, yes including the package.
Imagine it would be the other way around, you buy a beautiful jade comb from a reputable Chinese artist or producer and then you get something which is not even done in China, cost aside, you bought somethinghing and it's not even from there.
All that aside, don't be hating on Dacob... he doesn't deserve it. He buys stuff and he cares from where it comes and how it is produced and also he presents it to us in such a authentic, thorough way - he didn't even express an opinion on the packaging, he just said it is done in China, that's all, don't read into something he didn't even express. You say it yourself: "Not sure what you were thinking..."

Simon Du i am glad you spoke up. The iPhone is also made in china and Apple found that they couldn't make an apple without using Foxconn and their strict standards. Now Apple certainly isn't a Chinese product and no one is dissing that fact (except trump who has now given enough tax incentive for Foxconn to go to USA and set up a factory) that the Apple iPhone is made in china.

Dacob, please can you help? I love this LV bumbag but it's huge on me (5 foot and petite). So I went to try on my second choice - the Chanel one and I love it. What are your thoughts on that one? I am not a fan of the CHANEL bumbag since I do not like patent leather. Looks plasticky and yes, to me the CHANEL bumbag would be too small but I understand that it would fit your size better. I personally think you should never think of trends and fashion phases. If you like something, get it not because its trendy at the moment. Get it because you love it. If you love it, you will not care about trends coming and going. If you wish to buy the CHANEL bumbag because it is trendy then I would recommend not getting it at all since that would be a waste of money. If you decide to go for the CHANEL bumbag then maybe I would suggest you get the black one because you might get more milage out of it. Its a tricky call. CHANEL used to make great bumbags a few years back for half the price they ask for them today... but times have changed. If you like patent glossy leather and smaller bumbags and the new shapes CHANEL offers this season then I say go for it.

Congratulations on your fanny pack. Its curvature makes it ideal to either across the bum or the chest. You are right about the creased points where the canvas meets the handle. Maybe gentle caresses with your hands will eliminate any potential cracking. In the future, Vuitton should consider using leather at those gathering points. I enjoyed the article that you shared on Virgil Abloh. Each artistic director brings something unique to the table. Hopefully Mr. Abloh will swing it in a positive direction. Quite frankly, he should start with the footwear department, or have Vuitton stop making sneakers all together. They are HIDEOUS.

Nice video! Also, I've been trying to get ahold of the Toiletry Pouch 26, which of course as everybody and their mother knows, it's incredibly popular! I was in the London boutique at the beginning of the month and they had 0. Then my friend was in Harrods they had 0. It cannot be ordered online and I've called Customer Services too many times to count and they always say they've got X amount in Selfridges but then you can't get a SA. Help me! I don't know what to do. Do you think it's possible to call the store (either LV or Selfridges) and pre-pay it and ask them to mail it to me? Chanel at Harrods do that (on some items) but I don't know about Louis Vuitton. XOXO

Why don't you go to Selfridges to check it out? I would call Selfridges and ask them to connect me to LV... in case they cannot then I would go there personally and say customer service told me that they had a few in stock. If they still say no, then I would ask for them to order one for me. They would then in the sotre probably ask you to pre-pay it like they told me to pre-pay the bumbag... Good luck hunting! xoxo
Hi Dacob, many thanks for your quick reply. When I was in London at the time they did not have any in-stock in Selfridges, nor in the New Bond Street store, nor Harrods.
When I returned home, the next day I called LV Customer Service and they said Selfridges had just gotten some in that day.
I rarely visit London as it's quite far away and rather expensive via train so I likely won't be going next until July, but I'm off to Rome in June and a Toiletry Pouch is a must!
I'm going to keep pestering them on the telephone and pray that they'll allow me to pre-pay and send me one via mail. If not then I guess I can try the LV store in Rome.

I don't think its a bummer. I am pointing out possible flaws but only time will tell if it is a flaw. Depends how the canvas material will react to time passing. So for now its just a cautionary note from my end. I still love the idea that they managed to make the entire back of the bag out of one piece of material. That is actually more difficult than to cut it up in many smaller pieces.
When I first saw “bummer” I thought nooooo it’s “ bum .... bag”...haha.....they were also called fanny packs I think. Are you taking it to a Cannes? It looks like very functional bag, a little roomer than most of the vintage ones. You are so happy...
