Honestly... warm soapy water.... and it takes like 2 minutes... I use them until I can't, then set it aside... and once I have a few, just wash in bulk.... By not washing the mats is leaving lint and little bits of paper on the mat which can cause issues with the papers you put on the mat being uneven...
you should see how dirty my mats can get, and I never wash them, and never have issues cutting my cardstock LOL If there are residuals on my mat making them uneven, I just use a scraper and scrap it off.
Thank you Ashlee! I always enjoy your videos. Your real and that’s really important to me when I watch a video on YT. I am excited and can’t wait to see your 6- Figure Etsy Selling.
I wanna say "Thank you" 2x here! Thanks for watching my videos & loving them! Thank you for signing up for the Etsy workshop, I'm legit so excited to finally see this baby go live! All my learning from 12 years going public!
I use watered down pva glue to re stick my mats and also buy 12x24 and cut them in to , so much cheaper (if I can't find the non branded ones I buy from a 3rd party seller on amazon but I have to say I love love that you show your mats dirty as for many of us our mats are dirty but still work fine when we re stick them thanks for showing us the real life dirty mats in Crafting as mine as just as bad but work fine once re glued lol
you just use regular Elmers glue watered down and it works? -- No matter how much money I have in my bank account, I'll forever be the cricut gal that uses dirty mats. I'm never wasting my money on the new mats if I don't have to.
@ashleefalco I did comment but unsure if it is showing as you tube seems to take away my comments I don't know why .. so I was saying yes pva I water down a little and it works okay I am not sure if Elmers is the same as pva as I'm in the UK but I will say maybe try it out and give it a go .. and yes mats I have so many that look awful but . Once re stuck they are perfect to use
Knowing me, I would put too much, not enough….😂 I’ve cleaned my mats with dawn dish soap & it works. It takes about the same time to put the glue & let it dry 🤷♀️ I tend to throw the real dirty ones away lol. Amazon has a 2 pack, 12x12 Cricut mat for $6-7. Sometimes the price drops down to $4. I don’t have a business though. Thanks for sharing!
@ashleefalco I've was just ready to finally throw my mat away and thought let me try the other side I didn't glue it I tapped a 12x12 cardstock as I know roughly where that sits from the indents from the front if that makes sense and it cut well so keeping it for now lol as dont need the grids with cutting a large square out lol
Hi, do u try to cut shrink plastic with cricut explore 3? I try many different settings but still can’t cut it through nicely. Can u help to figure out the best setting? Thanks 🙏🙏
i just stumbled across this comment and i can actually help with this, i do it all the time! when you’re ready to cut the plastic, go to material settings and edit Acetate, it should be the first material on the list. set the cut pressure to 350 and set multi-cut to 6x. you can use a regular fine point blade. make sure you use a really sticky mat and tape the sheet down because it has to go over it so many times! i recommend a fresh blade too.
@@briannasilvia1283 I've tried other brands and they don't work the same and I strongly do not suggest them. You can get it here: rstyle.me/+j_CyWzBRIQDDRU5yfHxA-w

Washing them seems a lot faster than this method. 😅

wait until the 24" mats go on sale and then you can get the mats for $1!

Use a small paint roller with the tack-it glue. Be sure to use painter's tape to protect the edges of the mat where the rollers would be.
Great tips!

This is a good question! I'm going to need to grab some shrink plastic and see what I can come up with.
