Maura west is nobody's punching bag. That is the reason why she didn't work on Y&R. And she was one of the reasons why that writing team was fired. Nothing but love for her.

Wow! Maura West just chews up the screen. She's amazing! She elevated the show. CBS was beyond stupid to let the idiot Executive Producer kill off her character. Now she's Ava on General Hospital winning raves!

@@citydweller99 No, she did an incredible job with the crap she was given by Maria Bell, who resented CBS wanting her on Y&R. It was disgraceful treatment of someone who worked for CBS for years. Screw Y&R. ABC saw how great she was and now she's killing it on GENERAL HOSPITAL.

I'm glad Maura West is now Ava Jerome now on General Hospital, Maura is such a great actress and can literally take any role and own it. Maura did so well as Diane Jenkins on Y&R when she took on the role in 2010, but at least now the Y&R writers realized they never should've killed off the Diane Jenkins characters and corrected a very necessary error. They didn't bring Maura back of course instead going with Diane #2 Susan Walters, but nonetheless I'm just glad the Diane Jenkins character is back alive and well.
If anyone wants to know what a read is, this is it. Diane read the hell out of Nikki

Lol that was Victoria who actually aged normally. Now Nicholas was a toddler for 1 year then came back with Nick and Sharon 2 years later. That’s the most crazy fast aging.

This is the first time I'm watching Maura West as Diane Jenkins. I stopped watching Y&R years ago. I loved Maura as Carly. I miss ATWT so much. I'm not a huge GH fan so I haven't seen her as Ava but I know for sure Maura is the BEST at her craft. Undoubtedly one of The Best Lead Actresses out there. ❤❤
Not very many can knock Nicole Reed Newman down a peg or three. But Maura West sure as hell did.

Never liked her character
No, she's not. She always uses the phrase "Do you know who I am? I'm Mrs. Victor Newman". Honey without Victor or the last name she's like everyone else. Those stupid Newmans think that they can talk to anyone anyhow they want, but when someone speaks back they get surprised!

Diane owned Nikki big time with the truth and facts! But at the end, she married Victor again in order to keep her away from Nick. The same ex-husband who never loved her and dumped her for his ex-wife which he truly still loved.
Nikki deserves that insult. It amazes me how an ex stripper alcoholic living off her rich husband can be so stuck up and judgemental
I wished I watched Y&R, when Maura West was on. She just seemed like she was too good of an actress to play that minor role
The writing sucked, but she was good.
That’s the funny thing: Diane shouldn’t have been minor. The writing was so terrible here. Diane was neurotic but not this bad.

Um, Diane was NOT a "minor" role. The character had been a huge, significant history on Y&R. Diane was a great character. West is a great actress. However, 40-ish West was completely WRONG for the part of late 50-ish Diane. She didn't work. This mistake was as glaring as if they had cast West to play Katherine Chancellor.
Maura West is the only woman who gets more beautiful the older she gets… she was pretty here, now she’s captivating.

I always wondered why they got rid of the Diane Jenkins character she provided just as much substance to the show as Victor, Nikki and Jack🤔. BTW I loved all 3 Diane's Alex Donnelly, Susan Walters and Maura West . Alex Donnelly was my favorite Diane tho❤️
@@Seriousthing13 Because CBS and Sony Television wanted Maura West on the soap, yet the executive producer at the time did not want her. So, she put her into the role of Diane Jenkins, and then killed off the character, because she didn't want West and felt she didn't have any talent as an actress. Shame on that executive.

They never gave this version of Diane the chance to really grow it was sad. Was hoping we would get one of the classic Nikki V Diane cat fights with Maura West as Diane lol.

I do believe she and Laura Wright were nominated one year for best actress, and with all do respect to Jacqueline MacInnes (Steffy B&B) who won, West and Wright were robbed.

Y&R failed Maura West.Maura was stellar as usual.Her Diane started off with a bang then the writers has a severe case of witters block and wrote her 💩storylines.

@@DegrassiInstantStar She absolutely was miscast. Diane is a contemporary of Nikki's not a younger woman and the Blonde hair is so not Diane. I wish Alex Donnelley had returned but if not her and sticking with As The World Turns actresses as recasts: Colleen Zenk would've been brilliant as Diane.
@@RhaegarTargaryen1st Not really miscast but they could have written her in a much better way than they did. I assume Maura’s Diane was still in the same age range as Alex and Susan, she was just played as this younger woman.
