8:20 it’s called hyperhidrosis and you aren’t alone Wulf. I have it and it’s stress and or concentration induced. Anytime whether it’s taking an exam, playing smash, threading a needle. Profuse sweat from the hands. To the rest of the world it sounds stupid but for us it’s our existence.
Confirmed, same with me. I use to have one of those fan controllers back in the day. However, now a days, now that I am older, I tend to just play in shorter sessions and less intensely. But this video brought me back to those days of being embarrassed by sweating up my friends controller.
If you live with it your whole life, you learn to work some ways around it. I personally would prefer to play in a cold environment. Wether it’s turning the ac on, or having a fan propped up right towards my hands, or just simply opening the window to let the cold air in. But I would usually just use hand towels whenever I’d play. Wherever my hands are resting on there has to be a hand towel over it. And that also goes for keyboards and mice.

@@knird1311 there’s different levels of severity and it doesn’t just affect the hands. Mine is primarily the hands but sometimes even just rubbing moisturizer or sunscreen on is fruitless as my body will sweat as if to reject it until it’s fully off. I’ve melted exam papers in half while taking the test. It’s supposedly overactive nervous system related. My problem is I also have reynauds so transition from hot to cold too quickly will cause sudden vasoconstriction. Essentially I can get frostbite in above freezing temperature. Despite all this I’m incredibly healthy otherwise but it does cause problems and can be an embarrassment.
can you do something about it? My hands are even dripping wet now when typing on the keyboard. Its worse in the winter tho

My hands are just sweaty 24/7 regardless of what I’m doing. Reading, gaming, sitting in a cold storage room? Regardless my hand will be sweaty it’s gross. The rest of me doesn’t sweat like this either :(
@@danielsimmich1858 my hands only do that when I hold a controller or system made out of the kind of plastic the GBA SP Nintendo DS lite and new Nintendo 3ds xl have but any other kind of plastic is fine (Original gameboy, gameboy pocket, gameboy color, original GBA, PSP, PS vita, official original Xbox controller [S model], n64 controller, gamecube controller and my official Nintendo switch pro controller).
i wash my hands literally 30 times a day (no joke-) so they are about as dry and rough as sand paper... so i basically have the exact opposite problem...plus from all the hand washing i have wounds all over my hands and it can make gaming pretty painful :'>
@@FandomTOBY get Jergens hand moisturizer. It's fantastic for dry skin. You should be able to get it at Walmart and places like that. I have a huge bottle in my bathroom because I wash my hands so much. Just wipe your palmd right after using it and before you use a controller. Otherwise you'll get lotion on your controller.

On the hand sweat thing I totally agree. I get really insecure when my hands sweat when I'm playing games, I obviously wipe down my controllers but its not like I want this omg
You have acidic sweat. It's a common thing for some (including myself) cyclists to destroy grips, gloves, clothes and even their handlebars after heavy use. The gunk you find on the controller is actually the plastic melting from use. There is nothing you can do to counter act the acidic element, but you can use fingerless gloves to absorb your sweat before it makes contact with the controller. (or you can use a fan in your controller.)

I have a Nyko Air Flo EX USB controller for PC that I got like a decade or more ago. It still works, fortunately, but sometimes has issues with some emulators and steam games. I love the built-in fan, though, because I too suffer from sweaty hands when playing more intense games. Also, like you, I prefer the Gamecube controller for a lot of things, so it would be amazing to get something like this with that shape and button layout to it.
I'm glad to see that Nyko is at least still dabbling in the fan technology for controllers. Hopefully they come out with another PC controller at some point since the one I have is getting old and will probably fail on me completely in the near future.
My aunt's cousin has that exact same Gamecube controller. I loved it so much and he still has it in perfect shape.
While i used to grind Binding of Isaac, a fan was needed. My hands were extremely sweaty and hot, from how much i was playing.
So yes, it's most definitely needed. I would love to see a Noctua cooler in it. Than it would efficient and silent.

I've had so many bad experiences with Nyko I just don't trust any of their products anymore. I remember buying 3 Nyko GameCube controllers for Melee and literally none of them lasted the first week; they all started drifting.
Bob Wulff is by far the BEST at sponsorship placement in his videos. Who else could talk about ED on a gaming channel, still be funny, AND make it feel relevant?? Other youtubers (BeatEmUps) cough cough, could learn a bit from Wulff Den in the advertising department.
Another note about the PDP controller briefly mentioned, it doesn't feature any rumble, but does have a standard headphone jack.

I had something similar but for the PS3 in an Xbox shaped controller- preferred it over the PS3 controller
The xbox controller is better than the PlayStation controllers (it's bigger, easier to hold and the triggers are better on original xbox/xbox 360 controllers too)

I'm not part of the demographic that will benefit from it directly (namely the contents of my pants don't contain a hose attachment), but I see how much my brothers and father struggle to talk about their health openly and it's great to see it being normalised.

I'm in no way affiliated with them, but you should look them up if you want to. I've used their product for about a year now and it actually works. No more sweaty life for me. I not familiar with GC controller but I do own an nyko airflo controller that I use for my PC going on 14 year already, it’s been left in the rain, chewed by my dog and still works like a charm
I don't typically get sweaty hands, but my hands do heat up quite a lot during intense gameplay, (to the point where I get blisters) so who knows, this might help with that.

It's so bad with smokers. I had used my controllers for literally decades (old consoles) but my friend lived with me for a while and Jesus H Wulff he destroyed them with his hands in just a few months. The worst one was the relatively new 360 controllers, they had a brown ring that was easily visible.

I got the original Game Cube Nyko controller from Goodwill a few years ago, and it was in great shape! The thumbsticks wee both in tact. It was just dirty. Once I cleaned it up, it was a neat piece to add to my collection!

I like how the controller's shell is easy to come off, and can be used to make future custom skins. Anyone can take the hard-shell plastic and make a new design, and put it back on the controller. I don't know if its the same for a normal Nintendo Switch Pro Controller though, because I have never seen the inside of one.

I know this vid is 11 months old now, but if you havent already just look into getting it restored by someone who knows electronics. shouldnt be too hard. I also had that controler for my metroid prime gameplay days and loved it. Now that i know a modern day one exist i might get it just for the comfort. the (cool) thing about those controllers is you dont really need to have sweaty hands to use them, they are very comfy just from the airflow and grips alone.

I have found one of the big issues to getting sweaty hands is palming the grips and just using non grip controllers help a ton.
