  • This video is just showing the parts and tuning that I have put into the two cars I am building for this years World Championship proxy event on Home Racing World!
Hopefully you guys learn something from this video. Building and tuning cars is a lot of experimentation, and often you can build a car 10 different ways and still go about the same speed.
In the end the best proxy car is sometimes the easiest one to drive!

Hi, nice video. Interesting setups that you have there. Quite a mixture of material. What is that damping foil containing of. What is your intent with it?

Hey there, the dampening material is essentially a rubber/tar backed foil. It is used as automotive sound deadening by a lot of audio installers. Dynomat is one of the main brands.
The idea is to cancel out the harmonics that happen in the car from the various moving parts, the guide chatter in the slot, motor and gears, pods. The lead also does this, but my idea is that this material will work on a different frequency because it is of a different density.
Brass cars naturally do this very well, and that is one of the reasons they are usually touted as being "smoother".
Also, it is still a ballast. Though it is much lighter than the lead obviously.
      Hope this helps,
      Zack

i have noticed that most cars in this and the Gt3 proxy races have side winder or angle winder pods , Why does no one use inline motor pods ?

Would love to contact you and talk shop about some processes we believe we have to reduce resonance vibrations and increase motor performances.. please let me know if you're interested
