Well as someone born and raised in Chengdu I'm just curious how's your stomach? After living in the US for several years I definetely can't have some spicy noodle and dumplings in the noon then go for a hotpot or ChuanChuan in the evening, they are way too heavy for me now. It's also interesting to see the places I literally grew up with in your video! The hotel you stayed at is just a few blocks away from my elementary school. Thanks for the video and trying so many authentic stuff!
I think we’ve trained our stomachs on many years of spicy food from countries like Mexico, Thailand, Indonesia & India. We haven’t had any adverse side effects yet, though maybe we should cool it so we don’t do some kind of odd lasting damage that we can’t detect yet. 😅😅 We just LOVE spicy! 🌶️🥵😜

This purple "bread" in China we call it Huajuan ❤ Chinese Huajuan is a steamed, fluffy bun made from wheat flour, often twisted into a flower-like shape. It can be plain or filled with savory or sweet ingredients, commonly enjoyed as a breakfast item or snack.
Oh my gosh, it was SO amazing! And glad we enjoyed it for its intended purposes. 😋😋

Little tips: put fewer slices of meat in hot pot when the temperature get boiled and just need 5-6 seconds the meat would be eaten and more soft😊😊

Almost every big shopping mall in China has a self-service photo printer, which can print out the photos in your mobile phone to look like polaroid photos and edit them by yourself, which seems to cost only a few yuan. Have fun!😊😊😊

Like our special accent (Even though you're high level in Mandarin you'll never understand us), different food style, easy going and open minded city vibe, history... Enjoy your trip:)

You can take the high-speed train from Chengdu to Leshan, where you can find the most delicious snacks in Sichuan. Or you can go to Zigong, where you can find the most spectacular lantern exhibition in the world, which is only open during the Chinese New Year.

Regarding shared bicycles, the blue one is Alipay, the green one is WeChat, and the yellow one is Meituan. You can use the same sim card to rent one from each of the three companies. When you pay with Alipay, almost all chain stores support international credit cards. Some small stores are unwilling to pay the handling fee, so they use private payment methods that have not signed a contract with the bank, so they can only use the balance or savings card money.

You Saw the famous Panda twin sister He Hua AKA Hua Hua at 30:43. A panda who sits with a triangluar back looked from behind, "with no chin no neck no shoulders and no waist", just sitting there like a fluffy rice roll. She moves slowly than the others, good temper but she is often "bullied" by her younger sister He Ye who snatches her bamboo shoots all the time. She is the weak one of the twins so normally in the wild when twins were born the mother would abandon the weak one and chose another, but Hua Hua wasn't, she is so loved and we all adore her, she is also the Honorary Director of Chengdu Culture and Tourism Bureau.🤣
You guys are S~O lucky, giant pandas only are energetic at dawn and sunset, and the rest of the day they are on energy saving mode, it takes 1-2 hrs waiting in line and you only see her for 3 mins, it's really a "right time right place"，something can't be enforced.👍

I enjoyed this video very much 😊 on 27:00 mins , that’s Huahua’s twin sister, named Heye! Fun fact: Heye was originally thought to be male (panda genders can be tricky to determine), but it was later discovered she’s female-so she went from being Huahua’s twin brother to her twin sister! 😂
The enclosure they’re in (No.6) was once a ‘panda kindergarten.’ However, Huahua and Heye didn’t graduate due to their size, so it was renamed No. 6. while the other little panda “classmates”have already moved to their individual enclosures. 🐼🐼

Holy moly, you guys had 串串 "Chuàn Chuàn"! And you even went for the spicy pot-good for you!
I’m not sure I’d have done the same if I were taking my friends from Guangdong province to Chengdu, LOL.
*串 (“Chuan”) is a measure word in Chinese, meaning a string of something. You can think of it as a synonym for “XX on a stick.”
In Sichuan-especially in Chengdu, which is by far the most international city in the province-hotpot restaurants usually offer the option of a spicy pot, a plain pot, or a combination of the two (often called 鸳鸯锅 “Yuān Yāng Guō”). If you want to savor the true flavors of the ingredients next time, I’d recommend trying Yuān Yāng Guō.
From my personal experience, some of our restaurants don’t offer the freshest ingredients. But if you can handle the taste of garlic, make sure to add plenty! The locals believe it offers great digestive benefits.
Anyway, it looks like you’re having a blast in Chengdu. If you have time, come pay us a visit in the southern port city of Guangzhou, where the weather is warmer and the food is easier on the stomach!
Haha, yea, we LOVE spicy, so it only made sense to try it. So many people told us to watch out for the spice, so we had to see for ourselves. 😜
We have heard that Guangdong province has much milder flavored food that favors the base flavor of the ingredient. That sounds amazing too! TBH, we just love all Chinese food. 😅

Hey guys, your Chengdu trip looks amazing! The chuan chuan had me drooling. By the way, which city are you heading to next? Any chance you’ll visit Shenyang?
Glad you enjoyed it! We LOVE Chengdu. The chuan chuan was amazing. 10/10 recommend! The next city in our series will be Chongqing, but we make a quick stop just north of Chengdu first.
Unfortunately, we won’t be making it to Shenyang on this trip, but we can add it to our list for another time! We plan on visiting China many times over the next 10 years.

The Chengdu Panda Conservation Center is home to a large number of giant pandas that are raised and cared for.
We saw so many! And that’s not even the START of our panda adventure! 🤗🐼

Haha. We love the spice! 😅😋🥵 We actually just had hot pot tonight where we could mix/match broths, and one was Sichuan, and we were in heaven! So delicious! 🤌🌶️
The top is for the steam out of the bath unit. Chinese have a special thing about air flow. I remember when my parents visited me in the US. They complained so much about my apartments not so great air flow and they kept my patio door and all windows open all the time. My mom even moved bed to the patio 😂 we were in Cali. Btw.
