How to Add an Image to your KoBoToolbox Form

If you collect data in KoBoToolbox, you might want to add in images and visuals to your form. In this tutorial, I walk you through how I use:
1) Canva
2) Flaticon
3) KoBoToolbox Form Builder, and
4) XLSForm
to create and display images in my form.
In this tutorial, I show you how to add images using the 'note' question type.

Rookie question. Do you have to use ODK in order to use the data collection on mobile devices? I see you sat up the kobo on ODK and I got lost.

Great question. You can do one of three things to collect data on your mobile device... 1) use KoboCollect 2) use ODK Collect or 3) use it on a browser on your phone (don't need to install app).

when i try to deploy the form it says my survey element has no label or hint. what am i doing wrong? i have a deadline due in a few days and i need to learn how to add images to kobotoolbox(matching pictures of homes to said survey) is is this possible? please respond ASAP.

Hello again. I have been trying to use the image in ODK, as you did but I am getting an error message saying, "...\coverimage.jpg is missing". Do you have a solution for this?

I have successfully managed to make it work in Kobotool box. However, in ODK, I have hit a snag. I do not know how to make the form find the image as it is the one missing when I upload the xml in my google drive and open the form in ODK App.

Not a problem. Open up your existing XLSFORM, add the column "media::image", put the filename of the image in this column and make sure it's in the row of the question where you want the image to appear, reload your XLSForm, upload your image to kobotoolbox, redeploy your form, and it should be added.

Is there any way how to control the image margins in the webforms (enketo) ? And do you know if it is possible to hide the form title on the webform (enketo)

I don't think so...not in the way you'd want to, at least. My recommendation would be to play around with the image itself, add whitespace, etc? And for title, you'd want to look at deleting the title, I think? If you play around with this, could you let me know if you find a solution? One thing you can check out with images is big-image, heres' the documentation: docs.getodk.org/form-styling/#bigger-images-for-panning-and-zooming

This is a great question, and one I should address also in a video... In short, in KoBoToolbox, go to "Settings" and then go to "Share". You'll have user management in there, with Lots of different options for viewing submissions, etc.

How to create data validation to phone number duplication, for example: I am requesting work phone no. in the form and also home phone no. But I want to make a data validation like if the number of the phone was the same then make a warning or give an error anything that can warn the data collector that these two numbers are the same.
And if you can also explain within the same video something like this. Enter code doc number " 78 " and then after that re enter - code number " 78 " then it is true and the code matchs. if the code number " 78 " and then re enter code number " 79 ", error the code number doesn't match or error pups-up.
