- We're back racing the Carwow guys, this is the second race with the BMW M 1000 RR. This time it's against the crazy 1000hp Ferrari SF90, this one was going to be close, or was it!
Thanks to @carwow for another great race!
There’s nothing that feels more wrong than losing to a car on a bike. It’s only happened to me a couple times and each time I could hardly believe my eyes
It was an F40 wacked me one day in the late 80s . I was on Kawa 600 gpx which was no slug !
@@kramnam4716 on a 600 you did good to keep up though. Few years ago I passed my test and on the way home I overtook a ferrari 458 and gave it the beans. I disappeared after the 3rd corner and there was long straight.
To see a 1000cc superbike lose to a car is heart wrenching lol

despite the fact the sf90 won, when you factor in how attainable each of the options are its still insane how quick the BMW is. now the BMW isn't cheap by any means, but it's nice to see that the barrier to entry for a track machine isn't ridiculously high.

Great rider? He couldn't keep the front wheel on the floor from standing. That's down to the rider. Rookie mistakes to be constantly doing it too.

Really like these videos when those two go ahead to head. It’s got to be hard launching those motorcycles like that.
It's a very fine balance between going fast and flipping the bike, can't just open the throttle and go unfortunately, or the bike would be gone.

@@DaleMt09sp yeah launch control isn’t really any better than a skilled rider. In fact, though my friends have faster bikes one a s1000rr and another has a v4 Ducati, and I’m riding a 2010 z1000, I can beat them on a launch everytime when they use launch control they’re often slower than they are without it and without boasting neither are as good a rider as me so I can imagine I could launch their faster bikes even faster than they can. Professional racers have their own proprietary systems that aren’t the same as what we get on the road bikes. Even still I’m not convinced they’re better, probably more adjustments available though
It has the power but physics always win, the wheelbase is too short to use all of that engine.

Rolling start the bike wins every time .
You mentioned the airfield and wings, but missed the propeller - that's what the BMW logo is, to signify how they started, building planes.
This is a myth, the logo was associated with a propeller well after it was designed in an enduring piece of marketing, but like most marketing it is wrong. Peace.

Wow that Ferrari and that BMW are so fast! I was scared seeing how quick that speedo climbed on the BMW RR, which just makes the Ferrari even more impressive. It is so deceptive how much skill it takes to launch that bike and even keep up. Thanks for the great content!

I keep telling people you need a serious serious bhp car to stick with a 1000cc from rolling I.e real world situations. Anyone who can ride knows that first 0-80mph on a 1000cc is impossible to use even 75% of the power but once over 80-100mph and your pinned they are absolutely phenomenal
A normal 2020 S1000RR will beat SF90 from roll
Newer Gixxer 2022 is also faster than SF90
The guy dont push the SF90 to the limitd, he need to turn everything OFF to get 100% of the car and if keep pushing more the Ferrari will get the bike again , the car has way more top end

It's all about grip. However, once the bike is rolling and is able to keep the power on the ground it's a different story. Nevertheless, today's cars are so fast and a child can drag race a car, a bike? Not so much because I can't get my bike off the line like Chris, off course. He is a fabulous rider.

Bike also insanely fast ,only problem is it can't put the power down immediately unless it's little bit lowered and little bit of a stretch .
The KTM will just break thou so probably not the best possible bike choice.

Bikes (fast ones) are purely designed to get one person down a road as quickly as possible.
A car is a completely different thing, you sit relaxed in a nice comfy seat, as do your passengers, protected from the weather, in warmth, with music on, and with many other luxuries.
They are completely different, and the fact a huge car carrying passengers in all their comfort can get close to a bike in performance is still incredible.

I ride a Ducati and generally like bikes better than cars but you're not going to beat a sports car that has 4wd, 1000 hp, and electric motors from a standing start. The advantage in instant power and traction is just way too much to overcome on a sport bike with one dinky tire and an engine that has to rev to make power.

These races will never be fair until Mat starts launching without electronic aids just like Chris. But I suspect that won’t happen.
No such thing as a Ferarri with a clutch and manual gearbox these days.
Think of the contact patch for traction.
I think if the bike had a racing slick it would probably do much better.
The car on the other hand probably has as much traction as it's going to get already.
Traction wasn't the issue. Keeping the front wheel down was. If it was stretched it would have launched much better.

The thing I like about bikes is, you get top end sports car performance for a fraction of the price, although the BMW's price is salty for a bike, it's still probably less than the annual cost of running the Ferrari.

True. Bikes are starting to hit their peak in terms of Road legal performance. The car, relatively speaking, has just begun. We have cars like the Rimac Nevera running almost mid 8’s stock. Granted, cars are and will always be a rich person game when comparing stock to stock, but overall, I think newer cars are just going to further extend the gap between bikes and cars.

Needs to work on his clutch control....Use less throttle initially to allow you to release the clutch faster so you can be fully in gear for maximum throttle

While I think certain cars are cool, they just aren't on the same level as for riding a bike. Tried getting into cars after my last crash on a bike, but just doesn't tick the same boxes for me. Everyone has their reasons and tastes and nothing wrong if you prefer driving over riding, but for me, I love being on 2 wheels.
It's commendable job to control and test the limit for a drag when a bike this powerful is given to test it's limit for the drag. Well done to EVERYONE, for sure.
That Ferrari is something else,but I thing it will be challenging and tremendous to see the H2R vs 1000hp Ferrari
You'd be surprised, it's only a tiny fraction quicker on paper, all the horsepower numbers etc don't mean as much as people think.
Look at this for perspective, the 0-60 of the M1krr is the same as my 22y/o bike in stock form, with only 144bhp, the earlier heavier model of my bike was the first production bike to do the 1/4 mile in under ten secs @ 9.9 secs, the M1krr doesn't do it under ten apparently 10.2 or something, the H2r apparently does at a 9.6 secs I think, still only a blink of an eye times really lol.

@@Smzxe I don't know where you are getting your info from, but wherever it is, it is not true for 'stock bikes' for sure. As I said the 'stock' H2r does it in 9.6 seconds. The V4R doesn't do it under ten seconds stock, it's 0-60 times and quarter mile times are the same and slower respectively than my 23y/o bike, with only a slightly higher top speed.
Ducati Panigale V4 R specs, 0-60 mph 3.0s 1/8 mile, 6.9 s @ 122.4 mph, 1/4 mile 10s Top speed, 186 mph. Where all the extra power goes IDK, probably into the electronics lol

The launch control system on the car, no bike can compete with it, and if the bike races a rimac it really will be left for dead.

Well, i can buy the bmw but only dream about buying the car...What i love about motorbikes is that with 4000eur you can buy an "old" superbike and feel stupid fast 0-150kmh accelerations the 99,9999% of car drivers can only imagine

Ferrari is not the quickest yet
Tbfair the problem with the likes of the s1000rr range, is you don’t get proper pull till near the 70mph mark. They’re really docile before that, and bikes that top out at 125mph will out accelerate them.
one day you guys should have a stretched bike out there just so people can see how fast these bikes really can be with a stock motor. Wheelies are the only reason that this bike didn't win

Am sorry but 1000bhp against 200bhp the bike's tyre contact patch size of 50mm area the bike can't get all its power down and the tendency to lift the front. I'll still have the bike any day well done bike .

Tts super busa did 9.38 quarter mile on Santa pod and MCN's bruce dunn did 9.45 quarter mile time on a superbusa , and the bike reached 0-194 mph in 14 Seconds with stock gearing, if possible bring that superbusa to drag race with Car wow.
They need a superbusa in the back of the van everywhere they go and anytime they lose just whip that out..
