As a leader, doing the homework and finding out the hard true before holding a meeting with them is very important! Why they insist to be a grab food delivery and not other jobs? This is because they are earning S$3.5K to possible 6/7K monthly if they are hard working. Which job can pay them such an income? If you can find a postman job that can pay them above mentioned salary, I strongly believed they will all go and work.

I don't know if you've noticed or not but there are delivery riders, cyclists and even walkers who still send food even after PMD ban. MP is good enough to offer you postman job still want to rebut with a pathetic comment. If you don't want the postman job then just say it upfront. Don't have to act smart.
I was from riding the PMD and I change to cyclist yet I was still able to earn the same amount. If you really want to find money, cycling or walking won't be an issue. Don't have to give reason that cannot ride PMD anymore. I wasn't fit back then yet now I can cycle for a long distance because I adapted rather than mulling over and cry over the ban.
Seriously man, you got to start coming up with excuses and put in effort. If cannot cycle or walk, then work somewhere else

How would we feel if overnight, you need to change into another line of work that you probably dont like. What a privilege. This guy got handed a postman job on a silver platter using the MPs connections, other hard working ppl have to go thru interviews. Always the bunch who complain abt their job where it consist of mainly waiting for food. Literally paid to wait for food.

They can deliver a few orders at one go and earn more than a postman job. Besides, they are given incentives when they hit the quota for the day.

Being a postman for the Singapore Post means working for the government. That means got pension when you retire . That's the difference compared to PMD food delivery man .

No excuse. $1K assistance to change over to power assisted bicycle. Learn to ride on the road. As fast as e-scooter. Be concern about your own job first. Other people won't die of hunger if there are no food deliveries in Singapore. Moreover there are still drivers on bicycle and power-assisted bikes and motorcycles and walking still don't delivery. SO people won't die of hunger if food are not delivered to their door steps. They will simply walk out of their house to go buy food.
Food delivery is helpful for the old, disabled, children n caregivers. Life is harder without them. Escootering is fast and the cheapest solution so far, surely there is a way to manage n minimised the problem than an outright ban.
There are two major classes of such people. One who are poor and cannot afford food deliveries. The other are people who can afford. Sure it is convenient but with money they can afford, no problem to get people to delivery food to their doorsteps. As for those who cannot afford, they will usually depend on charitable organizations to help deliver food to them. Speed and how fast the food will be delivered is not an issue here. You won't die if food are delivered minutes later. E-scootering is not the fastest. The fastest are people who ride motorcycles to delivery. Also food delivery companies should change their planning by assigning jobs to people staying or deploying closer to the food to be delivered address. No problem getting food delivered to people who ordered it. With the ban of e-scooter on pedestrian walkways, pedestrians are safer no doubt.
@@Unteroffizier U miss out the sandwich working class. Those who have limited money, n have to juggle with limited solutions - occasional overtime work, reservist commitments, and multi generations to take care.
Let me have my grab food to fill in those hectic and impossible days!

It all boils down to planning. I never order such food and deliveries, because i cannot afford it. The delivery fee can cost up to a few dollars. So i think the middle class definition is very subjective. If you are willing to pay, then you belong in the category of people who can afford it. There are already lots of food catering vendors delivery meals to people long before the existence of such food deliveries on demand. So the topic here still goes back to ban of e-scooters on footpaths. There is no ban of e-scooter totally. Just ban on footpath. Whether people deliver on e-scooter or other means, food will still be delivered and even if it is a few minutes late you won't die from it.

I feel the solution offered is sub standard. LTA should not have implemented half thought out remedies and studied solutions with all parties involved.
What's next? Motorised cyclist causing death on the road, we just wasted another $7M on crap ideas.
Most of the jobs may not pay as much as these grab deliveries but at least your future is secure and your risk of getting injured is low. I use to do grab delivery once i awhile and it is not something nice to do, you have to rush, wait for order, go through traffic, if weather bad it affect your job, the risk is high and if something really bad happen your future is over. I really don't understand why they really like do deliveries.
Alot of them have attitude issues,they most probably wont get along in jobs that have bosses , supervisors and co workers, thats why they prefer doing deliveries

An organisation is offering job on the spot when you ask for help, and you mock the offer. The organisation thank their lucky charm that you did not take the offer. Go back to your own makings and find it in your own because you are already on the internet, the end for you brother.
From 0:44 onwards. The guy is deviating from the topic. Whether there are people to deliver food or not is not his concern. Because there are still many food delivery people on the job. Those are people who ride motorcycles, bicycles, walk or otherwise. So good for them they can earn more with more jobs. It is also the food companies' problems in planning on how to work with people who order food for delivery.The guy should focus on the subject at hand, that is how each individual is affected due to the ban of e-scooter on footpaths, so the authorities can focus on how to help each and everyone of them to stay on the job, or in the worse case transit to a new job. The reality is - e-scooters are banned on footpath and the rule is here to stay.

Food delivery is not a long term job. My advise is to get a real job that require real set of skill. Given that he is a malay, this kind of argument is to be expected.
Some education is not well doing.. and some of the grab food delivery come from low income families.. doing grab the more they deliver the food the more incomes they get from it.. it's not whether they are others food delivery or not .. situation for them we need more to get to know about it.. even grabs drivers are some elderies doing it.. if they are tired or not feelings well they just take a rest for one days.. situation we need to knows about it.. hope the government can do something good for them..

Just now the cleaner at this housing estate laid the hose so dangerously that motorcycle riders can trip over and fall. Besides the car owners do exactly when the riders including delivery riders are going up the carpark slope and timed to cause collision or emergency brakes. This is very dangerous and we need need over-sight independent auditors. So my point is theee any abuse of government data to endanger the lives of citizens in my area under this joker?
