    Pretty clean uniforms for prisoners and well shaved, too. Oh, and the soap and showers, dog tags, altogether very unrealistic for prison attire and comforts.
    I also doubt the smirks would be tolerated by the authorities.
    The only thing missing was a female in charge. Maybe in the sequel.

    Cool series, but they are mixing eras. These guys are acting like WWII Germans. The WWI German army was much more aristocratic, and they dealt with officers according to 19th century traditions. This is more like "The Great Escape".

      No, if you watch The Great War channel it goes in to detail of every aspect of WW1 then known as the Great War. Prisoners in WW1 were treated horribly. Loaded onto cattle carts and given meagre rations to eat usually every five days. They were starving, tortured and beaten.

      @Fabian Kirchgessner don’t forget about the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union treated Germans Pows worse than all of the allies and even worse than nazi Germany to a certain degree.

    Somehow the German Supermax in the castle puts me in mind of the old Naval prison at Portsmouth, Kittering, Maine. Very forboding, and surrounded by water, LOL!

    That 'orrible German at the beginning is Shaun Pertwee (unless I'm very much mistaken), player of gangsters, sergeant commanding the troops in cult horror movie "Dog Soldiers"', son of comedian Jon Pertwee (3rd Dr Who) and the guy who did all the voices for the troops in the game "Medeival: Total War."
    The Russian who hordes his string is that famous actor from Northern Ireland who was a principal character in that long running BBC drama where he played the boyfriend of Helen Baxendale, the pretty lady who played the English girl Ross wanted to marry in the sitcom, "Friends".

    the most obvious mistake is that all the germans are using kar 98s not 1898 Mausers, at least in this part and some before.

    I dont get it why would you want to run from the prison... Id rather stay there than go back to those trenches. Altho in this movie the trenches looked very nice and clean but in reality...

      So in the episode treasure of the eye of the peacock Indiana fi ds in the first movie and is what he gives the chinese mobster in exchange for "poison Dr jones" that's the hardest proof of the continuing story I know of. Though what happened to rhemmy is unknown

      Back when I was still a kid watching this, it was a series. Always at the early part the show shows old Indy, probably near 100yo telling his adventure to some stranger, then it go to flashback and the goes on. At the end, the show goes back to the old Indy again.

      Well the Russian prisoners were treated extremely badly as were the Allies captured by the Turks. They were hoarded into cattle trains with no food or water. They were made to march down the street as the towns people heckled them. Then in prison they were starved and tortured. The Germans did the same to the Russian and French prisoners of war.

      @@clearsailing7993 At 5:22, it is fairly easy to see the solider on the has either a WW2/post war K-98k. This weapon is considerable shorter, than the WW1 Gewer 98. You can observe the shorter section following the barrel band. And secondly at 5:19 you can see a shroud on the front site post indicative of a WW2 piece.

      Nazis were not Germans Nazis were a superior branch in Germany German civilians and the German army were forced to hide and therefore lost there superiority although some normal Germans rose up out of hiding and joined the Nazis some Germans formed rebellions and fought back that's why if your found a picture of Americans in Germany they would be greeted not shot at only Nazis would fire back.

    First WW , the Wehrmacht was very cruel ; like ss , or more . Me grand father was in cavalery belgean regiment . He was prisoner by the germans . It's a hell. No eat ; no water , everydays beated.

      Actually the ww1 soldiers where known to be not cruel altough there was a panik against partisans in belgium because of the recent start of the war. I dont think he really got beated every day (never heard that it was common maybie special prisoner or sadistic guard ) actually the good behavior of the german troops in ww1 was one of the reasons the russian population wasnt fleeing so much in ww2 because they remembered the decentcy of the soldiers in ww1 but in ww2 they got killed for no reason. But yeah ss would propably killed him
