Hello Gregg. Your video was very informative. I just picked up an '03 F150 that's rotted out on the bottom mostly. I thought welding new rockers was overkill. I read about slip on covers, but had no clue what there were. After watching your video, this seems like the ideal solution for my situation.. I want to thank you for the time and effort you put into this video to help out your viewers. Bill
Great video man but it burns my ass that ford Chevrolet and dodge are building shit like this and charge so much for a truck I have pulled old 1970s and 80s trucks that have been sitting in the fields for 30-40 years and the frames and Rocker panels are still solid
@@billyhensley7770 Nice thank you! I've been blessed showing people how to I make extra money online. It's hard for some people to imagine an office view like this but I enjoy the country living better lol Enjoy & thanks again www.diygeneralstore.net/
@@greggschena9716 I see. Didn't know that. They should just have it exit the vehicle in the same manner as the ac condensation line...They can engineer a whole truck but miss little things like this is just absurd lol actually I bet it's totally on purpose so we just buy another truck. Body shops where I live don't even want to tough rust anymore.
want to get these, but not liking the transition at the top of the cab corners... Wonder if theres a way to feather that edge in so its not as noticeable?.... I'm going to get the smooth finish so maybe I can grind that edge, bondo sand and paint....
Hi, I went with the textured look but if you are going to use smooth finish you would prep accordingly & you should be able to conceal that edge. I was after Time saving & expense. They are easy to work with. Best to you
@@greggschena9716 Thanks for the reply... I like the overall look of these covers... What a difference they make compared to the rusty rockers... I am going with this option compared to the $3000 cost at a body shop.... Keep on truckin'....
I noticed you did not put the weather stripping for the bottom of the door back on. Does that cause any issues? I've seen others use double sided tape to put it back on.
Hi thanks for contacting me. I was after a more clean surface and I have had no issues such as wind noise etc. Its a lot easier to clean for me personally. Any concerns could be eliminated by, 1st finishing the top then closing the doors and secure with vice grips for proper placement, then rivet. Hope that hint helps!
Hey did they actually give you a discount for doing this video because on their website they say you get 40 percent off if you make a video showing how to put them on and show a before and after?
Hi, That's a good question. I believe you could have the covers lightly sand blasted for better paint But I would recommend contacting the company first. Hope that helps. Keep on trucking.
We don't recommend painting our textured covers. They are a UV stable ABS and do not require paint. I've heard of it being done, but generally the texture and finish on those will impede an optimal paint adhesion.
When a body shop will charge 5k and most body shops don't even touch rust anymore..most just want collision repair via insurance. This is extremely reasonable option to make rust disappear making the truck look good for years to come. This is actually a very nice product.
Hi, I don't recall off the top of my head but I do remember they had an offer if I videoed install I got a big discount. Just check their site for an amount & possible discount too, Thanks for watching!

Nice video, covered the job very well. Thanks
Thank you
Great video. 👍🏽
Hey thank you!
Awesome video, made me decide how I'm going to repair my 2010 fusion.
hey, how did that go? Looking to replace rocker bar on my 2010 fusion with a slip on rocker. Any advice?
Nice job and the tips for the wire wheel and to cut out loose rust was a bonus
Hey thank you. I just couldn't see spending a couple thousand dollars to get the work done.
Great job. Very easy to follow step by step layout. Thank You!!
Thank you!
Great video! I see you didn't put the grease on the exterior rust. Is the spray enough?
Hi, for my purposes it was. But you could apply a heavy layer of grease/protectant. Thank you for your comment!
Awesome video. Thanks

Pretty sure this happens from the 3rd brake light leaking allowing water to run down to cab corner and collect.
That could be. I did see the drain line from the sun roof exiting there too.

Yes at that time they did, I don't know about now. Best
How about the paint
Hi, 1st off I'm not a dealer just a customer lol About the paint? Sand for prep, I used textured, so I didn't need to paint. Hope that helps
Can you paint over the texture covers?

Do you have the website where you ordered these covers? Thanks
Hello, It's the same as above here- oamusa.com/
look around way over price
That's always a good idea!
Thin plastic is worth $50 Tops , not nearlt $300. Boy did they see you coming
Probably true but, the truck passed inspection and it only took me an afternoon. Time is money!
