An Asian group of asylum-seekers were relocated here-----and everybody's cats started disappearing. Our local law enforcement educated the Asians that cats are a protected species in the US, and the problem stopped. In some cultures, catching and killing local cats and birds for food, is legal. Immigrant groups simply need to be educated about different legalities and cultural norms here.
