"No words describe a mother's tears, no words can heal a broken heart. The dream is gone, but where there is hope." That line, right there, pure poetry.
Nothing beats a Disney film intro with a banging song + soundtrack sung and written by a Grammy Award winning artist. By God we were bloody lucky us 90s babies to have this treat. Won't see nothing like this again. Thank you Phill Collins! ❤🙌
Amen!! I cried rewatching it!! Such beautiful animation, powerful song. GenZs and stupid 3D animation today sucks. Tarzan is an underrated masterpiece!
It is called the nostalgia factor my friend. It is what unites us as brothers and sisters, and truly it is what makes these classics all the more beautiful.
I love animals ! I want to become a vet when I grow up but people keep telling me to do something more "purposeful" in life ! They'll never understand the bond that I have with animals !! I love this songs cause it gives me hope to follow my heart and help animals as much as I can !! ❤🐾 A wise man once said, 'best friends are one with paws'
Actually, I made years before realizing they were here since the beginning. When I was a child, I thought Kala just saw something under the leaves, not the parent's bodies because I thought Sabor devoured them before she came.
I can’t keep my finger off of the replay button. Love this song so much and same with the rest of the soundtrack songs. Phil Collins was the perfect artist for this.
Phil Collins wrote some of the best music in history, this song is powerful and the rhythm is great. He plays drums, piano and had an awesome singing voice.
Honesty, my all time favourite movie since my childhood. Legendary soundtrack by Phil Collins, The Cast, the storyline, and the characters. Till this day, this movie and soundtrack brings me joy and a bit of tears to my eyes. If you asked me to describe this movie, I couldn't fit it all in this box. This film once carried out many childhoods espically with my generation, and some of these music literally give sentimental meaning to my past experiences, and life. Pure legend of a film. Happy Birthday Phil, and thank you for creating this masterpiece.
Once again, A track written by the Legendary Phil Collins in such an iconic film and soundtrack in my childhood, that applies to me deeply, as I literally have two worlds. One world where my family lives, and my heart belongs, And another where I have better opportunities, and how I wish things were well, to be able to live back in the world where my family is and to be able to live with happiness. How time flies. I wish I could go back in time, and be able to spend more time with the things I love, my family, and the many memories. Such a strong emotion, lyrics, instrumental this track has, and happy that people still listen too it till this day. The soundtrack to my life, and a track that I take deep too my heart, with such an iconic lyric, especially this one; Put your faith in what you most believe in, Two worlds, one family, Trust your heart, Let fate decide, To guide these lives,To guide these lives we see~" and it's exactly, what I've been doing all these years. Time flies.
Even though Zootopia won me over in 2016, Tarzan will always be a close second for my favorite Disney movie. It’s a shame not many give it the love it deserves, especially for Phil Collins vocals making it feel like you’re in the jungle
Feeling the heartbeat of my inner child speaking to me - reminding me of how limitless my ambition was as a kid and how I charged forward with anything that touched my heart... "somewhere something is calling for you" that line broke me to tears.. even 20 something years later- this song still fits my lifestyle - from child to adult. Getting back in touch with my childhood means a lot for me, and I'm a Leo. So one or some must understand how touched I am by hearing this song again. Thank you Phil Collins.
Finally I found someone kinda like me 😁. As a child, I also charged forward with anything that touched my heart, I developed such spirit, that even though it was broken so many times by so many people's words, I'm still not giving up, knowing what I have in my heart and what dreams I have, and Disney' songs were always there in my hard times to remind me of my dreams and hopes I had as child, that the world is how you see it, not how others tell you to see it, and that I should never give up on that treasure no matter how much someone tries to convince me otherwise! "Put your faith in what you most believe in" and "trust your heart" are lines that give me such a strength!
I always come here for a listen but honesty, my all time favorite movie since my childhood. How time flies though. On Tuesday, the 19th of April, I'll be 20. How I wish we could all go back in time to live these days. "Though there's no one there to guide you, no one to take your hand But with faith and understanding, you will journey from boy to man." The lyrics to my life, with all I've been through. The greatest soundtrack of all time.
I remember coming home from Tarzan and my sister and I begging our mother to stop and get the soundtrack. We put our money together and we shared that cd. It was the first cd I ever bought.
Does anyone one else play the introduction scene in their head every time they hear this song? I literally can't listen to it without not thinking about Tarzan.
Tip to know what you want in life : Watch all the movies you used to watch when you were younger. They call out all the innermost feelings, and add a new layer of meaning that. There were so many things that you wouldn't have understood back then, but you do now. Watch them again, they will tell you what you want.
I haven’t watched Tarzan in quite a few years. It almost feels like a dream. I think I might watch it soon. Edit: it’s been a month and I still haven’t watched it.
Oh finally, a video where we can actually discuss about this song from our childhood without RUclips deciding it is not right to talk about a song from a movie suitable for everyone.
Then again,it was the music that played during the first part of the movie where the ship sank, baby Tarzan being chased by the panther/cougar, and the gorilla (whatever her name was) saving the little guy
Literally just turned 19 years old, on the 19th, and I just have to say every year I always listen to this song since its my childhood when I was growing up. I honestly can't believe how fast time passes, I'll always remember playing this on the PS1 with my twin brother legit so many memories, I literally remember it as if it was yesterday. It's honestly so sad to see that Disney longer makes shows like these & how fast time passes. Whenever I listen to this song, I can't just help but remember the countless memories I have with it even shedding tears when I hear it. Truly amazing, and my childhood song. The song of my life and how its described. 💙🎉
I'm on a hunt to find the jack ass that keeps sneaking bowls of onions beneath us whenever a touching song/movie scene comes into play. Join me, and we can take down this menace!
As much as the other parts of the lyrics also hold some meaning I feel like the “two worlds one family” thing holds a deep place in my heart as someone who had trouble deciding between my maternal or my paternal family. I thought I could be with my father thinking I could finally find the purpose in life I could be successful in. But in the end being bullied by younger stepsisters was not worth it. It made me value the family that saw my faults and still wanted to support my choices. My dad and stepmom thought that with medical help and so on would fix me but what I really wanted was to be respected, treated with the gratitude I deserve after all the things I’ve done and letting them know stuff like “if you all need something let me know” but they only wanted to see someone who’s either a phone and game addicted lazy bum who needed to be fixed by being trained in the ways of housework and such. Not someone who’s just different from other people, someone who wants to be seen as a special person who tries his best with what little skills he has
Old disney movies had that extra little thing, i am currently watching through all the "legendary" movies, and god darn it, i have never had a better time.
I cried to this song because in the beginning scene, a baby monkey is killed by a tiger. The mother and father monkey were both crying. And this song was playing the entire scene. 😭
Does this give anyone else chills still after fifteen years if not more (idk how old I was when my parents showed me the movie) of listening to this soundtrack.
I miss these old movies that I grew up with. For as long as I can remember I have been walking around on my toes. No one could figure it out, neither could I. I thought it was just a bad habit. Phil Collins wrote and performed the Tarzan soundtrack in the English, French, German, Italian, Spanish AND Bulgarian versions of the film. I think he deserved that 'big ass money'.

Amen!! I cried rewatching it!! Such beautiful animation, powerful song. GenZs and stupid 3D animation today sucks. Tarzan is an underrated masterpiece!
There's something so magical about Phil Collins' voice. It's so amazing!!
So unique
Sounds like tom hanks Albert brooks and drew carey singing this
As an adopted child born in 1997 this song and movie mean soooo much to me brings me to tears everytime
You look beautiful
This song as the intro to Tarzan was beautiful and really captured the feel of the movie.
Phil Collins made that movie great overall mate!
Tarzan' soundtrack is amazing and totally underrated. I want this song to be what I dance to at my wedding!!
Does Phil Collins have autism because I do
It was perfect as a finale as well
12 de Abril de 2006.
"no words can describe a mother's tears"
This is a long intro.

Did Phil Collins ever get an Oscar? If not then he needs one, like right now!!!!

He did and rightfully so

Both Africa-based movies had the most kickass intros ever. (Lion King and Tarzan)
Tarzan is really a South American based setting around the tropics.
+Alexander Kieler Sorry, I just realized a while ago when I saw it again. My mistake.
Tarzan isn't Africa based.
Prince of Egypt...deliver us
You better fucking come back and apolpgize to this person. If you don`t I swear to god...
Tears and goosebumps. That is what this song gives me. Every time. Especially in the movie, when you can hear the little baby gorilla....
...Is that Zuko?
n0odles86 It is. :)
Amanda Butcher Those are enemy birds.
that little baby gorilla has killes by a panter or what
That made me sad. I was hoping that the baby’s parents would rescue him.

Except leopards, they can all eat shit and die
Keep the dream alive man peace in the wilderness
its scary knowing and seeing that the dead bodies of tarzan's parents are laying there in the treehouse throughout the film
By the time the events of adult Tarzan's life take place, they would have decomposed, and either be skeletons or dust.
Sabor probably came back and took them away.
Good old days ❤ i love my childhood
