You can take the mauve pink and lighten it by 25% for the walls. This will give you some dimension and still give you a really lovely monochromatic pink room. It will also keep the look very custom and chic.
I think this is the best idea take a sample to where ever you got your paint from and get them to custom make one, I do think the two pinks don't quite look right. X
Looking amazing, in the pink room, I would paint the walls the same colour as the doors & woodwork. It will be a lot easier to do now, before you move in. I hope you get to move in soon ❤
You will decide on your color choices for the guest room but I think the most important point is to do it BEFORE you move in. As an experienced renovator I can tell you it will drive you mad if you leave it for later. Be happy with as much as you can be before you move in and you're still at a stage when you can make changes like paint color. It's lovely progress Emily...well done! Can't wait to watch you move in 🥰
With the pink room, I would paint the walls either a white/cream or a lighter shade of the pink you have for the skirtings and mouldings. If it was only a few months before wallpapering i would leave it but if your waiting a year to do that, then think it worth repainting for now. Is this Sophie’s room? 😊
For the pink room, I think there’s a few options: 1. Leave the walls and repaint the doors white, or the same color as the window trim. 2. Repaint both the walls as the closet door color and paint the doors white or match the window trim. 2b. Paint the walls the closet door color, and leave the doors to have a full monochrome look. Nonetheless, it still looks great!
Emily, I had the same dilemma regarding my paint choices. I chose an accent wall to match my doors and window frames and mixed that shade (a hint) with my favorite creamy white to complement the rest of the room. I am so happy with the end results.
Paint all the walls (including doors and window frame) the colour of the wardrobe doors! You’re right, both are gorgeous, but there’s not enough of a contrast for them being together. Can’t wait for you to move in and see how you style every room 😍
I agree that the pinks don’t work together 😢 But I don’t think there is any point in repainting if you’re set of papering further down the line. Perhaps just move in and see how you feel first ☺️
You house is beginning to look stunning…. You certainly have an eye for it and you’ve done it really sympathetically which is amazing. Pink wise, a very muted pink tinted white would work great.
The house is looking stunning so far! I’m obsessed with all of the colour choices and details 🤩 Personally for the pink room, I love both colours but I’m more drawn to the muted one on the wood, it suits the house more. I’d personally go for a more light blush pink on the walls or just wait until you find the perfect wallpaper x
For the paint, I would repaint the walls a very light pink. Almost white. It'll make the room appear larger and make the trim and doors stick out. You can decorate to bring more color into the room. And curtains can make the room pop as well.
At 31.42 the lighting makes the tones look fab and when you’ve got the furniture in, you can make it work. I do agree with the earlier clip though when you were showing the tones and they didn’t quite match. I’d simply go very slightly lighter with the pink to keep the overall effect but have a greater contrast. Do it now, painting is so quick and convenient when you’re not moved in yet x
I would def repaint the walls. I would go with a decent white that works so it really pops because the muted wood pink color is really really nice. That way if you change your mind again it’s slightly easier to pain and picture.
Wow loving all the house updates, so happy all the rooms are coming along now. I agree with the pink on the walls, I think you could go for a more of a timeless blush colour 😌
The pink on the woodwork js so beautiful!! Though I agree they don’t really go together. I renovated for over a year on my own (similar situation to you!!) and I found that once I moved in I just really wanted to enjoy it, and I didn’t want anymore works going on I just wanted to live my life and enjoy what I’d built, I’m now 6 months in and I still don’t want to do anything else til at least next year. I just wanted to enjoy the space with friends and family and even just on my own! All the decisions and the stress for the last year I just wanted a break! My advice would be paint it now to complement the woodwork pink then live your life and forget it was ever that colour. If your builder recommends wallpapering now go for it too! Just let it be done and enjoy it cause in a years time you might be ready to change but I found immediately I just didn’t want anymore works going on 🤣 my experience but hope it helps xx
I love that light pink and brown together. I never thought of doing those colors together it’s absolutely beautiful. My mom and I said it’s absolutely gorgeous it was our favorite room. Wait till you move in and the colors will come to life with the furniture.
When I moved into my house, there was a green wall that I was determined to hate but just thought I’d leave it for a while and get to painting it when I had the time but now a year on with all the furniture in I have grown to love it and know I would have kicked myself for changing it!
Paint the pink walls. It’s very bubblegum. However the pink on the doors is stunning. Your house is really coming along! Can’t wait for moving vlogs xx
I absolutely love the colour of your guest room doors and skirting, it is beautiful. I think it would look really lovely with a real heritage rich warm cream and will allow the doors and skirting to shine
omg not even half way through the vlog and i’m already loving it so so much!! now that summers slowly coming to an end i’m super sad but this genuinely made me feel better! Also HUGE thank you for all the links in the description box!! Appreciate it so much it’s so so handy! Also i LOVE the colours of the doors in the pink room but i would repaint the wall colour with a powdery pale pink instead OR maybe paint the walls the same colour as the doors but mixed with a bit of white/cream to make it a bit lighter, think that would look lovely as well! lots of love xx
I really love the colour on the doors but I would agree the other pink is too bright. What about changing the walls to the dusky and painting the doors the same colour as the window woodwork. Your house is stunning!!!. My favourite rooms are the kitchen, bedroom, ensuite and bathroom. Your choices just feel so cosy.
My opinion on the pink room is to move in with it how it is and see how you feel about it because it also gives you the option to wallpaper further down the line...you might grow to love it! Personally I think the two pinks look great together and will probably look even better with furniture in! x
I agree….move in and let it settle, sit with it but take your time on what it is you want. I’d keep the warm pink on the doors and baseboards and pick a really pretty light and chic wallpaper. It’s such a chic grown up color. 😉 Such a beautiful home! 🌷🌸🌺🪷
The house looks lovely. I would change the light pink colour and paint it before you move in as it will be easier, that way you can let the house settle more before you put up wallpaper. Love the colour in the drawing room. Which one did you use? 😊
i personally wouldn't be able to leave the pinks the way they are, i think no matter the furniture the cooler and warmer tones just wont work. sometimes it works but in this case i would repaint one of the pinks. also from watching you for a while my guess is it'll annoy you really fast lol, hope you figure out soon hun
Love the muted pink wardrobe doors!!They are divine. Maybe you could try either all white walls and trim or alternatively grey walls and white trim and leaving the wardrobe doors muted pink.
I agree with the pink room. I would change the walls and keep the pink doors, love that colour. Either paint the walls an oatmeal colour or wallpaper or a really pale dusty pink. Love the rest of the house xx
I’d definitely paint the wall as it’s a quick fix. Love the colour on the wardrobe doors. Highly recommend an off white colour called khaki mist 6 by dulux which has a little pink hue - could be great to balance it out 😊
I recently painted an entire room pink for a client in a Victorian home. The colour was Faded Rose by Zoffany. It was absolutely beautiful! I think it would look amazing in your room aswell
I would definitely repaint the bubble gum pink walls and keep the door paint. Maybe paint the walls a couple shades lighter than the doors. It’s coming along so nicely!!!
Your house looks lovely! I would go for a softer pink as your wall colour because it is the only colour that doesn't blend with your heritage colours. It's lovely, I had that colour pink in my room as a teenager, but that was a mid century home with less character. 💓
Could you do like a light white stonewash effect on the pink walls? It would mute the colour down and blend in with the softer pink and add a cool depth to the room? ☺️
The pink room would look good with the doors painted a rich shade of black. With the pink and the black it could look old Hollywood glam. Maybe add a chandelier.
I love the darker pink. I would just leave it if you are wallpapering in 6 months but if you can't stand it I would do a blush pink. So close now! Excited for you.
Honestly I think it’s the colour of the window frame, if the window frame was either the same colour as the wardrobe door ie the warmer pink I think it would look better. The house is gorgeous and you’ve done such a wonderful job designing every aspect. Love these vlogs 🥰
I don't like the paint color either and it would bug me too, but I probably just leave it until I moved in and see if my mood changes or if I would wallpaper right away
Hey! I know what you mean about the pink room. The colours are gorgeous, but I also feel like they don't compliment each other super well. I would personally want to re-paint it. Hope that helps.
With the pink room I’d be inclined to paint the whole thing, ceiling included in either of your pink colours. ❤ I’d personally go for the bubblegum pink because of how fun it is.
What are you worktops Emily? Designing a kitchen currently and love yours! Also love the pink doors but don’t like the wall colour with it, defo keep the doors and change the walls!
I think keep the woodwork pink thats lovely and very in right now, and just repaint the walls a lighter pink or just a off white or something until you wallpaper
Everything is gorgeous! When you put the furniture in that guest room you could add two pink tones on the bedding. I think it all looks just spectacular 😍💛
seen as you like the pink on the wall, paint the doors white, just like the rest of doors throughout the house, just my two cents worth, but its all coming together very nice, I love the color in the drawing room.
Your house is so beautiful! I can’t wait for you to move in!! Because you are asking, I think the light pink is what you should change. It doesn’t fit the warmer colors you have chosen throughout the house. It’s not my fave color of pink. On the other hand, the darker pink on the doors is actually pretty gorgeous!! Sending good vibes from California! ❤❤
Pink room - there's not enough contrast and the warm pink walls vs cool pink doors is whats throwing it off! go either cool toned dark pink on the walls or cool toned very pale pink (I personally prefer the door colour to the wall to keep)
hi emily the house is looking stunning i love the green colour of the drawing room, if your not sure about the pink room no amount of time will make you like it so i would re paint otherwise it could drive you mad lol the colour on the doors is beautifull but the walls are to bright. loving the vlogs xxxx
pink room: love the colour on all the woodwork, but the colour on the walls is a no from me, is there a way you can match the colour from the woodwork but make it a few shades lighter then pop it on the walls? that would look nice :)
Hi Emily, love your house!! The pink room-I love the door and trim paint color-that color blends with the other colors in the house-it’s rich, a bit deep, if you know what I mean. The walls are bright-they just don’t seem to go. What about a color a bit lighter than the doors? Not so bright as the pink you have. I do love the pink, but I love the door color better. How many ovens do you have in your kitchen? So much cupboard space-room for everything!! I wish I was young again so I could be doing everything again. They always say you would do it the same way, but I wish they would give you a clean slate so you could do things differently. I wish I could meet you and find out more about you, Emily. Your live seems so exciting and you seem to have everything all figured out. I am expressed by you and you always seem so happy. I am proud of you.
Your house is beautiful - you should be so proud of yourself. Cannot wait to see the finished result…. In regards to the pink room… you know your not happy with it and even if you move in you know it’s going to bug you. If I was you I’d either replace the bubblegum pink with a warmer pink or white to bring out the warm pink of the doors. x
The dark pink of the doors is beautiful I just think if the pink on the way was more muted it would be perfect and maybe mixed with a bit of white to lighten it a little is that makes sense...
You've got a few options in my eyes. Paint the wall on the left (as you walk in) the same colour as the doors so then the colour is even around the room and then you have that pop of bubblegum pink. Or, I would paint the doors and skirting a lighter Candyfloss style pink as I think those shades may be better suited? I love the colour of the doors though as it is more muted and fluid with the rest of the house. Or I guess paint the walls the light candyfloss colour pink so they complement each other more and keep the doors? Xx
With the pink room, maybe wait untill you have curtains or blinds up at the windows. This can change the lighting of the room and make the colours look different ❤
Definitely change the pink wall colour. Better to do it now while there is nothing in room. It will be more of a pain to change later. The door pink is beautiful.
I think you should either paint the whole pink room the same colour as the doors or get a 40% lighter tint of the door colour and paint the walls that lighter pink. That way you'll have dimension, but in the same shade tones
Hi Em Lovin how the house is coming along. The pink room I love the colour of the doors as you say not sure about the walls but maybe off white with a pink tone. Not sure if you have thought anymore about your spice drawer. But I have seen it in another vlog ‘This is how we Bingham’ they built their dream house in Utah and it is amazing like you they decided on a Spice drawer rather than rack and I think you may love it and would fit Into Your kitchen perfectly check them out if you haven’t seen them already. They Moved I to their house about a year ago but they do have the house build documented all the way through and then the grand réveil which is amazing .
Hi Emily some suggestions for your kitchen you will need a tea towel drawer, a cutlery drawer ( keep close to your dishwasher). And a pot drawer and a drawer to put all your platters into. Also I have a drawer for all your rolls of baking paper, cling wrap, plastic bags etc. And keep a drawer for all your salad servers, can openers, bottle openers. The pink room if it bothers you now, you should change it much easier to do now while you don’t have furniture in there yet. And not sure if your master bedroom has carpet or under floor heating, a big rug to put under your bed, so you don’t get cold feet jumping out of bed. Your house is taking shape, you should be so proud of yourself Emily 👍
I love the baby pink shade, but I know what you mean... if you're going to wallpaper anyways, I'd definitely consider waiting. 💕 Your house is really coming together, I'm so excited to see it all done!! 🥰
I like the pink on doors with a wallpaper or that colour all over. Looks like a little girls room having the two tones of pink which isn’t a bad thing if that’s the vibe you are doing xx
I think leave the colour of the room as is. I really like it the contrast of both the pinks together. As it’s a guest room you won’t have to look at it that much and in time, you said you’d put wall paper on it.
Omg you are so tanned🤩 The house looks amazing I'm in love 🤩 I kinda agree with the paint colour. I prefer the door colour. But still looks lovely🤗 I cannot wait for you to move in💖
The paint on the door is awesome I love it I think as a whole it's more important to just get in there and moved then you can play around but it's a spare room it's fine for now I love how it's all coming together Ian praying your in soon hun ❤xxx❤😊❤❤❤❤❤😊
no you are right.... the two pinks don't work together. I would change the wall paint and leave the door colour. the other colours in the home have much more of a timeless "heritage" feel while the bubblegum pink feels a bit too modern. I would find a warmer colour with a more timeless feel to it.
I Can see what you mean with the pink tones, I would re-paint the Walls in a tone Warner, so it matches. Or go crazy and paint the Walls olive which would look so Pretty too. Its really starting to look stunning your beautiful House 🩷💚
Love the house! Such a great house tour, hopefully you can move in soon! In regards to the pink room, I would keep the pink on the doors because they are stunning and then repaint the walls soon, or you could paint the window trim in pink, that would help but I would get a beige colour or white in the room and then do a feature wall with wallpaper 😄 Long comment but happy to see you happy!
Emily your house looks amazing, can't wait for you to finally get in, you've certainly waited long enough, you looked so beautiful in this vlog and loving your hair & nails too. The pink room though I feel your pain as both colours are beautiful but if it was me I would keep the door colour and if possible do the same colour all over, think the room could totally carry it. I would change before you move in though otherwise it will nag at you & drive you crazy, trust me. You will make the right choice for you though I'm sure. Hope you have a wonderful week ahead. 💕💕
The whole house is stunning. Love that sea moss colour in the drawing room. Kitchen confuses me - I don’t know how it was planned, but seems an odd layout to me - would drive me doolally but considering I rent I I’ll shhhh 😂
@@EmilyCanhamVlogs don’t get me wrong, I think it stunning. And I love the open shelves as I detest uppers and what they do to the counters. The island between fridge and stove may bug me, probs worth it as appliances are fab. The storage stresses me out as I’d never know where to put stuff ahah Very jealous tho. Such a lovely house.
Paint the room before you move in. I like pink but not for the guest room, but if you want to keep one of the colors, I would paint the walls the color of the door and change the color of the door.
Think the doors are a lovely colour in the pink room but would change the wall color to a neutral white or cream as you are right the two pink colours do not match. Would have colored the Pilate's room a beautiful light green colour. Your home is looking amazing xx
I’d paint them white for now! Like you said you can always change it. You can always control the vibe with the accent colours you choose. Remember, it’s only paint. You’ll get it right 🩷
Love the house. Love the colours you have chosen well done. I don't like the bubble gum pink in the guest room. If you want an all pink room how about doing the entire room the same colour as the doors or contrast the doors with a pale blue or pale green on the walls.
opinion on the pink: change it, because you're not sure! you should love it :) love your house emily, very cute, did such a great job! you should be proud of yourself
I think the light pink colour in that room should go, the darker pink doors are lovely though
thank you for your advice!
Same
Opinion on the pink room: repaint the walls in a very light pale/desaturated pink to match the doors.
🙌🏼🙌🏼
@EmilyCanhamVlogs I think go for a lighter tint of the doors on the walls then 😍 whatever you choose, it'll look great!
Yes, whole room in the same as the doors 👌🏼
I'd paint the entire room the same colour as the doors. I think that muted pink everywhere would look amazing!
eeek I'm scared!
You can take the mauve pink and lighten it by 25% for the walls. This will give you some dimension and still give you a really lovely monochromatic pink room. It will also keep the look very custom and chic.

Emily, I had the same dilemma regarding my paint choices. I chose an accent wall to match my doors and window frames and mixed that shade (a hint) with my favorite creamy white to complement the rest of the room. I am so happy with the end results.

seen as you like the pink on the wall, paint the doors white, just like the rest of doors throughout the house, just my two cents worth, but its all coming together very nice, I love the color in the drawing room.
there's so many options, I just don't want to make a mistake!! tysm!!
Yes! Thank you! sending love from london x
Pink room - there's not enough contrast and the warm pink walls vs cool pink doors is whats throwing it off! go either cool toned dark pink on the walls or cool toned very pale pink (I personally prefer the door colour to the wall to keep)
thanks lovely!!
hi emily the house is looking stunning i love the green colour of the drawing room, if your not sure about the pink room no amount of time will make you like it so i would re paint otherwise it could drive you mad lol the colour on the doors is beautifull but the walls are to bright. loving the vlogs xxxx
tysm!!
@@EmilyCanhamVlogs thankyou so much for taking the time to reply xx
pink room: love the colour on all the woodwork, but the colour on the walls is a no from me, is there a way you can match the colour from the woodwork but make it a few shades lighter then pop it on the walls? that would look nice :)
I like this option too!! tysm!
If I was you I’d either replace the bubblegum pink with a warmer pink or white to bring out the warm pink of the doors. x
Thank you! yes I think so too!
The dark pink of the doors is beautiful I just think if the pink on the way was more muted it would be perfect and maybe mixed with a bit of white to lighten it a little is that makes sense...
I think you should change the wall color of the pink room. I love the door color and think it goes with the other colors in your house so well!
thank you!!
Xx
Debating all of these!! thank you!
With the pink room, maybe wait untill you have curtains or blinds up at the windows. This can change the lighting of the room and make the colours look different ❤
Great idea!! thanks for the tips!
The pink room, I would paint the light pink a warm off white to match the windows and leave the wood work that gorg dusky pink!
I do think this might be my best option!!
Definitely change the pink wall colour. Better to do it now while there is nothing in room. It will be more of a pain to change later. The door pink is beautiful.
thanks lovely!! decisions, decisions!
The kitchen is something else, imagine volgs and videos on it 😍
I can't wait for this!!
I think you should either paint the whole pink room the same colour as the doors or get a 40% lighter tint of the door colour and paint the walls that lighter pink. That way you'll have dimension, but in the same shade tones
I think keeping the tones is my idea just figuring out in which way!
Repaint the entire room the darker shade to match the baseboards and closet. It’s a pretty color. Then wallpaper later.
do you think darker?!
I love the dark pink on the doors and think you should paint the walls that colour! Love the videos! ❤
Glad you like them! tysm!!
Hi Em
Lovin how the house is coming along.
They
Moved I to their house about a year ago but they do have the house build documented all the way through and then the grand réveil which is amazing .
Your house is taking shape, you should be so proud of yourself Emily 👍
thanks Lesley!! super helpful tips 🫶🏼
I love the baby pink shade, but I know what you mean... if you're going to wallpaper anyways, I'd definitely consider waiting. 💕
Your house is really coming together, I'm so excited to see it all done!! 🥰
🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
You can have a farrow and ball consultation to discuss colours and pairings x
thank you for the tip!!
I like the pink on doors with a wallpaper or that colour all over. Looks like a little girls room having the two tones of pink which isn’t a bad thing if that’s the vibe you are doing xx
I really love the idea of wallpaper somewhere in the house!
I think leave the colour of the room as is. I really like it the contrast of both the pinks together. As it’s a guest room you won’t have to look at it that much and in time, you said you’d put wall paper on it.
true!!
Omg you are so tanned🤩
The house looks amazing I'm in love 🤩 I kinda agree with the paint colour. I prefer the door colour. But still looks lovely🤗 I cannot wait for you to move in💖
thank you lovely!!
I find the pink wall to bright, love the pink on the doors
🫶🏻
The paint on the door is awesome I love it I think as a whole it's more important to just get in there and moved then you can play around but it's a spare room it's fine for now I love how it's all coming together Ian praying your in soon hun ❤xxx❤😊❤❤❤❤❤😊
can't wait to show you when its finished 🫶🏼
@@EmilyCanhamVlogs iam so excited for it hun xxx 😊
no you are right.... the two pinks don't work together. I would change the wall paint and leave the door colour. the other colours in the home have much more of a timeless "heritage" feel while the bubblegum pink feels a bit too modern. I would find a warmer colour with a more timeless feel to it.
so true, it's def too modern!!
I Can see what you mean with the pink tones, I would re-paint the Walls in a tone Warner, so it matches. Or go crazy and paint the Walls olive which would look so Pretty too.
Its really starting to look stunning your beautiful House 🩷💚
That's a great idea! tysm!
Emily change the paint if you do not like current color. 👍⭐️
Love the house! Such a great house tour, hopefully you can move in soon! In regards to the pink room, I would keep the pink on the doors because they are stunning and then repaint the walls soon, or you could paint the window trim in pink, that would help but I would get a beige colour or white in the room and then do a feature wall with wallpaper 😄 Long comment but happy to see you happy!
thank you lovely!! 💕
Paint is an easy change to make because you have to love it. If you hate it you will always hate it. This is your space you have to love it.
so true!!!
I’d paint the room off white. The trim and doors will really pop
I like this idea!!
thank you 💕💕
What about keeping the pink woodwork and finding a nice wallpaper to match. Xxx
Loveee this idea!
Yeah! The bubblegumy pink was a mistake 😕
at least this is quite a minor one!! 🫣🥹
emily, i just love everything about your new house, nah i wouldnt change the off pink, i think it might kinda grow on you
thank you!!
really happy for you that’s it’s finally happening you will in your house before you know it keep smiling it won’t be long
thank you 🥹🥹
If you’re wallpapering, save the money and and just cover the pink
so true! I need to decide if I'm wallpapering!
The whole house is stunning. Love that sea moss colour in the drawing room.
Kitchen confuses me - I don’t know how it was planned, but seems an odd layout to me - would drive me doolally but considering I rent I I’ll shhhh 😂
do you think?! It was the layout that worked best for the room shape to make the most out of it!
@@EmilyCanhamVlogs don’t get me wrong, I think it stunning. And I love the open shelves as I detest uppers and what they do to the counters.
The island between fridge and stove may bug me, probs worth it as appliances are fab. The storage stresses me out as I’d never know where to put stuff ahah
Very jealous tho. Such a lovely house.
I would leave the pink for now live in it for a bit decorate etc, especially if you are going to wallpaper
so many choices!!
It’s looking INCREDIBLE!!! All your hard work and patience will be worth it ❤
Thank you so much!!
@@EmilyCanhamVlogs what colour is your Pilates room? I love it and want my bedroom that colour! Xx
Change the pink room before you move in. The house is stunning 💗
thank you!!
Id move in and give it time, like you say you will probably wallpaper it.. the house looks great. Love your en suite
Yes! Thank you sm!
Paint the room before you move in. I like pink but not for the guest room, but if you want to keep one of the colors, I would paint the walls the color of the door and change the color of the door.
SO many choices!!
I think once you move in and live with the room for a bit, wallpaper will be the next natural step for the pink room :)
i like the wallpaper idea!!
Paint the pink walls white and keep the pink door/skirting xx
so many people saying this!! 🤔🤔
Think the doors are a lovely colour in the pink room but would change the wall color to a neutral white or cream as you are right the two pink colours do not match. Would have colored the Pilate's room a beautiful light green colour. Your home is looking amazing xx
thanks lovely xx
I love the bubblegum pink, I’d changed the doors! 💖
so many choices 🥹🥹🥹🥹
I’d paint them white for now! Like you said you can always change it. You can always control the vibe with the accent colours you choose. Remember, it’s only paint. You’ll get it right 🩷
Love the house. Love the colours you have chosen well done. I don't like the bubble gum pink in the guest room. If you want an all pink room how about doing the entire room the same colour as the doors or contrast the doors with a pale blue or pale green on the walls.
opinion on the pink: change it, because you're not sure! you should love it :) love your house emily, very cute, did such a great job! you should be proud of yourself
thank you!!
