I never use barbed wire. I use white poly rope and am adding smooth solid wire along with the poly rope. The white poly rope has steel wire woven in to carry the electric shock. I have two horses that will take the shock until they have the wire shorted out. Many Amish in our area use only barbed wire. I wonder why!
@@dicklem Amish not using the white rope wire? It is electricity. But like my FIL he only had barbed wire designed to keep the smarter cows in the pastures. He said horses were just not smart enough to not keep hitting the barbed wire. Years ago when I was in a Liquid Fertilizer business, we had one of the first floater trucks in the area. I went to spread fertilizer on a customer 120 acre field but to get into it I had to go through an electric barbed wire fence gate. The fence was one over a mile in length. The charger was one of those that you used different wattage bulbs to control the power but they put a penny under the bulb. I let the wire down so I could drive across. When I did, one of the barbs stuck in one of those big floater tires. When I grabbed it, I thinking it was the dead-end, I got hit so hard that I could not stand.
Good to see a video from you..fencing looks great.hope all the ponys are well..
Misty has her own book about her going to a birthday party.

Great job, done that hard work
my father in law always said that horses would keep running into a barbed wire fence even if it cut them every time.
