- In this video were going to head deep into the suburbs to get some firewood. A Cherry tree limb fell at a friends house and he asked if I would help him clean it up. "free" cherry firewood, just some assembly required.

Free wood is good wood
That’s what my wife tells me…
Great video. The mingo marker is a nifty gimmick. The reason I call it a gimmick is because it is something extra to carry, cost money to operate and has parts to fail. This is especially true in freezing temperatures. Once the first can of paint is gone most of them end up on or underneath the workbench. But each to their own. It is still much better than a 4 inch difference in the length of the rounds. I am glad you were not injured any worse with that loaded tension on that limb. Have a great day.
Gimmick is an interesting way to look at it, can’t say I agree or disagree because I haven’t had enough use with it yet. Time will tell. Thanks for watching
That Cherry is a nice score.
I think I might do something I've never done and make some smoker wood with it...first time for everything
Good video and good salvage 👍
Thanks for watching
I bought that same top handle saw. After a quick tune she rips!
That’s what I’m hoping for!
be safe out there brother 🪵🔥
Thanks, hope you enjoyes
I need a mingo marker!!!!
Nice stash…..
I like the video…….
Stay tuned I’ll be giving some away in the very near future
Hello Elliott, The Mingo Marker seems to work well, nice drone work. A Pair of Stihl gloves would protect the 🙌 🪵🤘🏻🇺🇸
Stihl ha. That’s like telling me to go drive a Chevy!
Haven't figured out where to cut the reason i don't have a Mingo Marker. Wear gloves would help on snap backs, glad you were luckiy on tgis one!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks for watching!
My 3rd favorite source of wood. 1) outta the woods 2) tree service friend 3) damn I shoulda dropped that tree before the wind storm… I personally prefer to skid 8’ logs and stack in my wood yard. But in the scenario you had, gotta do it the hard way. I do kinda like the idea of the Mingo (?) marker. I could mark a whole bunch of logs on the stack pretty quick.
Although you didn’t have chaps on, at least you recognized the omission. If you rewatch the video, you should watch the path the bar was on when the limb jumped. Stay safe!
Oh I’m well aware how close of a call it was. I’m not a huge chap guy as I find them extremely cumbersome. I should really look into getting some chainsaw pants.
I was not a chaps guy either until the guy selling me my 2nd chainsaw asked me if I had a pair. He said that they weren't cheap, but they are cheaper than a trip to the ER. I was out helping my neighbor cut up a tree in his yard, had put a new chain on the saw and the chain came off the bar and hit my thigh. I barely felt it, but it made a 3 inch gash through 3 layers of Kevlar. I don't know if that would have been an artery or not, but would certainly been many stiches. Needless to say I am onto my second pair of chaps. At The time of the incident, I'd been cutting firewood for 25yrs to heat the house as you do. No judgment from me, but just passing along my experience.
@@peterwarnstrom8872 Always good to hear others stories to tell me what can easily go wrong and how quickly things do go wrong.
hi there good load of wood . best to all .john
Thanks John! Have a great day
When I have the same situation you were in, loading by hand into a truck, I always start the farthest and heaviest first, that way I have full energy with the bigger pieces. Lighter pieces will still be easy and if I can't get it all, I'm leaving the smaller pieces behind aka less firewood behind. But only 4 rounds left behind isn't bad
see, this is the kind of idea I wish I had before I started the whole project. I wish I would have thought of that. I will implement that next time for sure.
Nice cherry score!👍👍
Can’t beat it!
I saw all the tension when you cut the other side of the tree and new something was going to happen! I was thinking here comes a pinch. Glad you’re ok mate. There’s always risks in this game isn’t there.
No doubt, and if I were paying better attention I would have noticed it too. Good reminder to
Not become complacent. Thanks for watching
Hey Elliot, free wood is good wood. That’s one hell of a stash. Looks like the Mingo Marker makes marking the poles a lot quicker. I like the retro loggers helmet, definitely more affordable than what Jake was sporting.
Cheers Woody from across the lake!!!
Free wood is the best wood. Only way to make it better is if the wood is delivered without any sweat equity! Thanks for watching!
Dude you’re rockin’ a mustache that would make Mario and Luigi jealous🤣😂. That marking tool is a pretty neat idea especially if you could drive up to the job site and keep it in a tool box. I’ve been super busy lately, but I’ll be catching up on some of your videos here.
One of these days you’ll have to teach me how you insert those movie clips into your editing🤣. Take care Elliott
It’s pretty simple, I just screen record off my computer on RUclips and insert it! Thanks for watching
Food for the 22-28! The Lorax look is cool lol
We will see how long the mustache lasts before the wife tells me it’s time to get rid of it
Subscribed. Enjoy your videos!
Thanks!
Mingo marker is a kool tool to have. Great job and free wood to boot, can't go wrong. Watch for rolling trees, you got lucky on that one. Great video as always, and the moustache needs to grow out so you can wax the ends.
Hahaha the ole curly q mustache would be quite the look
I put that same saw in my cart like a week ago. Cool marker though
I’m sure you’ll see it very soon and see how it runs once I tune the carb
ROAD SIDE LOGGING!!! Where the heck has outside with sheib been?
Spoke to him a week ago, said he’s been under the weather and hasn’t been out working much
Maybe port the top handle?
I gotta get her tuned in to see how it runs before we start getting wild with it
You do kinda remind me of Freddy Mercury of Queen!!!!
if you heard me on karaoke night, you would take back that statement.
Nice lip sweater brother….did it get you in trouble with the law….I see the police car reflection.
Gotta compete against those boys in blue. They think the got the rootenist tootenist mustaches around.
@@EverythingElliott well this boy in blue is jealous and applauds that magnificent work of art!
