    People don’t usually just use their credit cards in an emergency that’s the problem. I think you can live without them. I haven’t owned a credit card for about 3 years after I got into debt. My car is paid for and I’ve worked hard to budget and live within my means. Financial advice always needs to take into account mindset when it comes to money.

    Yes ! We need a credit card to build credit, but use with caution only in an emergency unless you are debt free. The good thing about using cash is you don’t have to worry about a monthly bill. Paid in full!😁

      I cut out hair, nails, some eating out, switch to buy groceries online and limited gifts & added that money to savings... it helped significantly.

    I spent so much less on gas because of using cash..and I also barely go to the grocery store except once a month. It works everybody! That and I’m paranoid of debit card fraud due to a certain situation.

    I NEVER go to the cash register without rounded figure of what my items cost. I learned that hen I was a teen. A twenty or thirty dollar cushion at the register is OK but $100 is ridiculous.

    Credit cards! This goes against everything Dave Ramsey says. I guess if you already have a home you don't need credit.

      You ALWAYS need a credit card. Auto rentals, any monthly subscription, online orders, etc are all things that should go on a credit card. You would never want anything that requires a hold on your actual money, a mistake or a bad purchase to hold up cash in your bank acct.

      You could just load a debit card. Credit cards can help the credit but can be bad in the wrong hands

      Dave Ramsey tells you what works best for him and his philosophy in life.. he has had them and no he doesn’t like them.. he is a smart man.. but people have to learn to succeed and fail on their own meritor what’s best for them..

      I was in debt with credit cards but paid them all off. I would never have a credit card or a loan again. I either save up or go without.

      All my bills are on auto pay on a credit card. Which I payoff EVERY month. & I know exactly what those bills are & how much. This way I pay one bill every month and it keeps me organized. It’s a mind set, don’t buy what you can’t afford. If you want it, find money for it before you buy it. I know that’s easy to say, hard to do. But being broke is harder and costly. And I used to be “broke-broke”.

    everyone talking about keeping cash on hand to budget but where I'm from that's a easy way to get robbed

    • @KJ-nv9uz
      @KJ-nv9uz 4 года назад +1

      Maybe a solution could be to use a reloadable debit card? I've never used one, so Im not sure how the transfer of money would work or how secure they are. Ive seen ppl load them at stores- but if you could do it from home, you could limit cash that way perhaps?

    • @michael567jober
      @michael567jober 4 года назад +1

      @@KJ-nv9uz I used to do Walmart money card. they have a limit tho to how much you can keep on it and there's a small fee every month. I'm pretty good at saving lol I had like 5 of em. but I kinda feel I spend more with cash in hand cause it weighs down my wallet so I try to keep as less as possible. I'm just the type in general that don't spend unless I have to

    This is an excellent approach with the budget and also credit cards. We need to learn to utilize credit to our advantage and not to our detriment.

    Well I have student loan debt which us dragging me down...It's a shame that we are punished financially just for trying to better ourselves. I own one credit card and that's not by choice it's because I have to show credit worthiness to buy a home. I miss the days of cash and carry but this new system gives more power to those with credit (which is basically money you don't really have) than those with cash. I'm almost sick of it all. Smh I might have to move overseas...Js

      Nicci Seabreeze check out Dave Ramsey( RUclips, podcast, daveramsey.com) and just listen to the stories from the callers. I did Dave ish for a long time but I'll NEVER own another credit again and the debt free screams are great too. He also endorses Church Hill Mortgage because you do not have to have a credit score. Look them up

    Credit cards give 20 to 25 days to pay back the money you "borrowed. " from them.

    You can’t save money while broke! She must ain’t never been homeless, unemployed, NO income! I guess everybody got their definition of broke. My definition is $0.00 . $20 is not BROKE. Well atleast you had money to hit the grocery store. That’s not broke... wtf???

    • @noirfit9721
      @noirfit9721 4 года назад +11

      20.00 is not absolutely positively broke but it’s pretty broke lol. Even homeless people can make 20.00 a day by hustling people on the street. You can always save something, no matter how small.

      I think she meant broke as far as living pay check to pay check? That is VERY broke to me. But even in that state you can start small and save. Alot of coupons, off brands, no outside type of entertainment but it can be done. But broke broke as in NO income, there is no saving there until you get some time of steady income. Thoughts?

      If you can’t buy the item 5 times over that means you can’t afford it. 20 dollars is broke how long can you stretch that?

    I like Lynn but spending 80% of your resources on stuff like home, utilities food, etc, will not allow you to create wealth fast enough and plan for the future because you will not have enough money working for you.
