Rest in Peace to Roberto Clemente (1934-1972). I would’ve had him as the best 70s player. Sad to see his career and life cut short by a plane crash. He will forever be remembered in the MLB Hall of Fame

Mike Schmidt is CRIMINALLY underrated by most fans.
For 2000's, it has to be Barry Bonds. You could've gone to MLB The Show 17 for him. They don't have a card with his actual name because he did not allow them to. However, they made him Reggie Stocker

This might be an unpopular opinion but, Barry Bonds should’ve been in it, but I’m not even sure he’s in mlb the show.

In 2003, Bonds withdrew from the MLB Players Association licensing agreement because he felt independent marketing deals would be more lucrative for him. Because of this withdrawal, his name and likeness are not usable in any merchandise licensed by the MLBPA so they would have to deal with him to have his name in. For this reason, he does not appear in some baseball video games, forcing game-makers to create generic athletes as replacements.
Just like Pete Rose holds the record for career hits but because of his bets they won't acknowledge him in games as career hits leader due to him being banned from the MLBPA.

For 80’s you could’ve done Don Mattingly, In 84 he won the batting title, in 85 he won AL MVP, 9 gold gloves, 3 silver slugger awards. A great player and my dads favorite player of all time.

Unpopular opinion but Miguel Cabrera is one the most underrated hitters to step in the box. He won a Triple Crown and nearly a 2nd ring in 2012.. he has a career batting average above .300 3000+ hits 1600 + RBIS 508 homers.. People have him way back in the list. To me he’s one of the greatest all round hitters ever, as he could hit bombs both ways without juice or Peds, Simply injuries kept him back from his prime.

@@TheBaseballGauntlet Not particularly. They played at the Polo Grounds when the giants were in New York. before then, Hiltop park, which probably wouldn't be in any game. They got kicked out. But that had a 290 pols and 500 foot center field
@@TheBaseballGauntlet Yankee Stadium I built in 1923, before it was heavily renovated in the 1970s and became Yankee Stadium II (1976-2008). The original dimensions were much different. 490 feet to deep center, also very deep to left-center where the bleachers were, and it was shorter down the lines.
