Love the wagon. You mentioned gas going bad after a while due to the ethanol blend fuel. When you have to park it for a month or so this is what I’ve been doing over 3 years with my riding mower when I put it in storage for the winter months. I’ve been using Stabil Marine 360 formula it will absorb the condensation from the fuel tank and it keeps gas fresh longer for 6 months now when I pre mix it whatever the directions say I double that for 5 gallons you see what saying here. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it. If you are near a Walmart that would be your cheapest place to get it. Again I love this B body wagon. Eddie Patterson Silverstreet South Carolina.
Thanks for the great tip. I actually have used it before in a Power Wagon I had that sat for several years. It’s like it had mold in the tank or something. I used stabil in it and just kept running it through till it got better. You’re right, it’s good stuff. I’m just not always on top of things like I should be by adding it to a siting car. lol.
LOVE the wagon Jonny!! Thanks fir the how to vid too...not many folks over this side of the pond mess with Carters.. its all Holley everything pretty much, Looks pretty easy to fix and started almost right up... Might go look at the Desperado shirts now :)
Oh man. I’ll have to talk to my guy and see if I can get the big guy shirts Aaron. Holley’s are great for making power, no doubt. But yeah Carters are just so freaking simple.
I love all my carter/edelbrock carbs and I have two 440 AVS carbs to get too paid $5 each... Easy to rebuild the only real problem is the crap gas clogging the front air bleeds and the idle circut but a quick clean with a small tube on the air bleeds and a shot of carb cleaner does the job but taking out the mixture screws is a must then all is good with out removing the carb top... The secondarys rarely if ever give any trouble.
Hell yeah MoparNut. You can’t pass up on a $5 Carter. I paid more but bought a whole pile of them for $300 awhile back. This carb was form that pile, it runs great and already paid for itself.
I ended up not buying a 780cfm Holley 3310-1, for $25. It was complete. But he cut the airhorn off (choke mount), and modified/smoothed the throat opening. Almost bought it, but didn't think it was worth undoing mods that I could, and it still might not run right.
Oh man, for that cheap I woulda bought it Targa. Those are the cool hot rod tricks already done. Good for slapping on for track day. Freaking rebuild kits go for double that. But yeah, probably not good for a street car.
have you done one on a ThermoQuad I finally got one about like 3 weeks already from eBay for $50 mint condition from Cali. the seller told it came out a 1977 Dodge car or wagon manual choke for auto trans it came from a car cause the truck have a different top body and this carb is off a 400 C.I it a 800CFM when my lil brother look it up all I need for it is a rebuild kit and it hard to find the right one on a site any advise before I put it on my 318?
I’ve rebuilt one once. But never used it then later sold it. They’re a little bit more of a pain but take your time and take lots of pictures. I can’t remember where I got the kit from, maybe Rock Auto. Most kits will include several variations of gaskets and parts to cover a wider range of the different years. I actually think they’re bad ass carbs. I still remember back in the 70’s as a kid hearing the cop cars romp on the throttle and hearing the deep throat of the secondaries opening up. You can hear them a mile away.

Dammit... no really fat guy options :(

Thanks for the video! Thinking about going with the AVS2
Nice! And you’re welcome and thank you for the comment.
