I was there as he was coming out with songs, I remember the way he blew up. I liked what I heard, but I’ve never sought out and listened to the dongs that didn’t get on the radio. This was before the era of artificial intelligence, so when Eminem used her vocals in his shows, fans could see that Mariah had more interactions with him than just saying hello. duh. Eminem was offended and said something about it publicly. I can't remember the details--it might've been his song "Superman." It spiraled from there. Him and Nick Cannon have basically been beefing with each other ever since every several years, although supposedly that's squashed now. But not till Nick Cannon released three of the most self-embarrassing diss tracks ever.

My understanding is that it was widely known in newspapers at the time that Eminem and Mariah Carey dated. When their relationship ended, Eminem was asked about it in an interview. He briefly confirmed that it lasted about half a year and didn’t work out. He respected her as a person, noting that while he is a very simple man, she is more of a diva, and they were not a good match. Fans were upset when Mariah went on the Oprah Show and Ellen’s Show to discuss her sexual purity and bragging on the fact that she had had very few sexual partners, stating that Eminem was not one of them and that she barely knew him. So she said Eminem was lying. Mariah also expressed frustration with societal assumptions about women in a more abstract manner. Which was very questionable what she tried to say. Eminem responded saying that her lying is very very bad.
It’s a very sad story indeed. It was clear that Mariah was deeply hurt and might have been inclined to lie. This was before the era of artificial intelligence, so when Eminem used her vocals in his shows, fans could see that Mariah had more interactions with him than just saying hello. duh. They (mariah and nick) decided to mock eminem even after that only because not many went to shows i guess.
