  • The Titanium Pocket Tool by BigIDesign is not a budget item BUT it is one of the lowest price titanium tools of the kind. Others are over twice as much for a tool that can't even do as much.
    So if you like the design and you have enough money to spend on one of these then go to BigIDesign.com or BigIDesign.co (for all countries outside of USA) to buy one for yourself.
    USA: bigidesign.com...
    INTERNATIONAL: bigidesign.co/...
    BigIDesign offers free worldwide shipping so you have no reason to look elsewhere for one of these. While you are at their website why not check out the other products that BigIDesign has for you.

      I have a problem with titanium as well but I just could not help getting a titanium comb It has the mass of a plastic cheap comb but it feels like steel. It is kind of cool to use in shop it gives me extra style.😎

      Sometimes getting something just for style is a good thing!

    I could swear I heard you said it is made in USA. I checked with them; they said ALL their metal products are made in south China. (btw, why mention "south?") I guess kids today don't study/know any geography?

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  6 лет назад +1

      If I said it was made in USA then it was because that is the info I had at the time. I got my info from the packaging and from talking with the representative from BigIDesign

    I can see where it would be beneficial to edc it just in case of an E&E situation because it's easily concealed and stowed away but, for that price you could get a decent SAK that has more tools and functionality. Great review, Jake nonetheless.

      It certainly is pricey. Not really for the average guy on a tight budget

    It does make me laugh they they list paracord as a feature. Like that small an amount is useful for anything other than fixing to your keyring. Otherwise do like the look of this tool.

    If money is no option, then it's a Christmas Gift listed....I know another guy :) that would pay if it was in the budget...Dang it's nice, can't believe you'd even consider gifting or selling such a sweet little multi tool. Not like your going to be getting another one of this quality any time soon. I know, you just can't keep them all...keep buying lotto tickets or eat less.
    Just thought, there's enough room on the flat for your name and logo on this little gem. Show it off and impress people Jake.

      It might be just that you need to learn exactly how to put the pressure on it just right. It is a precise motion that is needed. But if it is indeed defective call the company and they will probably be very happy to work with you, I have heard they are good about customer service.

    Nice little tool for sure but yeah, pricey. Like you, I carry at least a folder and it's more convenient, at least to open a package. Very neat idea nonetheless and can see why people would buy it

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  7 лет назад +1

      There are a minority of people who would buy it for personal style expression. For just practical reasons I think over 95% of people would buy something else for 1/4 or less cost.

    It's nice but I hate saying this, but I'm going to wait till someone copies it in a cheaper metal and sell it for $10.
    And guess who's going to get richer quicker, humm well it's certainly not going to be the titanium makers. :-)

      Were they clever they themselve would start maybe six weeks later a high quality steel product and announce this right away. I bought a medford knife imitation from china, the same real beautiful design, steel, for 27€., very well made. With such a price you can actually use s.th., not only adore it. So another company takes advantage of your talented designer. The book market often starts with cheap editions, because they know how much readers are prepared to pay.

    Excellent video. I have seen other videos that reviewed the TPT Slide, and yours is the only one that actually demonstrates the use of the various tools incorporated in the TPT Slide.
    Job well done.
    Thank you.

    Honestly I have two. I upgraded to the TPT slide and I found out it's fidget friendly. I highly recommend it and no I am not sponsored or got one for free. People don't freak out when you take out a utility knife. It's also a good conversation piece and it's handy.

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  2 года назад

      You make a good point about how people don't freak about utility knives even though the folks who did the 911 terror attacks used utility knives. People don't know what is dangerous and what isn't, they haven't a hot clue (for the most part). Basically ANYTHING is dangerous in the right hands and ANYTHING is safe in the right hands.

    You reviewed both this and the RUK V2, your personal preference between the 2 and why?

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  2 года назад +1

      If I had to buy, then I would get Giltek RUK v2. It does everything I would need it to do and it costs less money. This TPT is stronger and looks cooler but it doesn't necessarily perform any better.

    Reminds me of a mini version of my trusty Stanley knife I like it a lot for a key-chain why didn't Stanley come up with this 20 years ago?

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  7 лет назад +1

      Good question. It is a very straighforward design. I have found more expensive variety that is similar but that doesn't make much sense. There has to be someone who will make this type of thing but in stainless steel for $15 -$25. I hope, anyway.

    Good tool for places where knives are not accepted.
    If I can have a knife I would take my victorinox🤗

    • @CanadianCuttingEdge
      @CanadianCuttingEdge  7 лет назад +2

      Indeed.
      I don't often carry a pocket knife of the style of a Victorinox. I have a few, even a few Victorinox knives, but I just don't carry them that often, I usually have a full-size folder that has a blade around 3.5 inches long + a small folder as a spare.

      I just got a RUK last week and I will be reviewing it. From my use so far I am still liking this guy because it is smaller, but it is more expensive too, time and testing will determine where I land on the choice.

      Options exist because not everyone has the same perspective. Not everything is right for everyone, and there is nothing wrong with you thinking this is a bad deal for you.
