  • A demonstration on how to soft solder on a brass trumpet by Michael Durocher. Includes prep work needed, things to think about and the process using a "B" acetylene tank and soft solder , like 60/40 or 70/30.

    Thanks for the video. I never knew to pull the flux into the joint with heat. I always thought it to be for the solder only. This is much cleaner. awesome.

      The heat also works well to pull in liquids to free up slides that are frozen. Kroll and liquid wrench are a couple of products for freeing up stuck slides.

    What is the name of the liquid flux..is the powder flux more effective than the liquid flux..if I use butane flame can it melt it..to stick the broken thing I have to clean the surface so that it becomes copper or I continue to make connections..before I have make a connection but not successful..because it does not stick perfectly ..
