The slight difference in spawn pad heights also allows Marth to start in the air and thereby fall through a platform on any stage (Battlefield, Yoshi's, Fountain, DL) on GO by just holding down if he is plugged into Port 3 or 4, but if he is plugged into Port 1 or 2, he will start standing on the platform instead and have to hit a smash input down or shield drop to reach the ground :)

The tech you can see at 0:40 is called shine mine. Pretty rare to see it actually being used in a oficial match less to say i thought it only worked if you toggle on the hitboxes but how it works is like fox does a shine any where he wants one time. On the spot he did the shine is where the reflector hitbox of the shine will activate ones he is on a platform and does a shine on the platform while falling through it.
Yeah! It's really sick
I actually had an explanation and ended up cutting it for pacing, but I know other people have made great videos about shine mine too
Just imagine people trying to lab this technique and doing it consistently in tournaments 🤣 aklo is a really technical fix player so I would bet he actually did it on purpose which just shows that this 20+ years game is still being figured out 😄
Funny how round start in Melee can get this crazy in comparison to other FGs.

Nice video however I need to point out that Pyra/Mythra are not a puppet character. They swap between each other like Zelda/Sheik.
They could have been puppet fighters for Rex, but I'm glad they didn't go that route.

Duck Hunt was on the line, haha
insignificant error but at 2:07, Pyra and Mythra aren’t puppet characters but are rather Stance Change characters, like melee/brawl Zelda/Sheik and Pokemon Trainer
And Duck Hunt is visually 2 characters but the only puppety aspect of their gameplay is the Neutral Special with the can bounces.
Anyways enjoy this useless info.

It's not unknown, but I hadn't seen any videos about it either, especially not one in this kind of format
From doing some polls before making the video, it seems like 80+% of comp Melee players didn't know it existed, and even fewer knew about the port requirements
@@atWisely yeah ive definitely heard about this but I had no clue about the port requirements and other details, so tyvm for this vid, well made
Implemented poorly or not adding more than 2 frames of buffer at 60FPS into a fighting game is atrocious. At least if I mis an input timing in melee I don’t get a buffered move I didn’t want to swing in the first place.
