I got rid of the SET valve on my K2 by fitting the full Yoshimura tri-oval system (Titanium from the down pipes to the silencer which is the stainless steel example), which sounds fantastic and does give the bike a noticeable boost in acceleration.
The set valve is meant to be there. It's a bit like the exup valve in the Yamaha and boosts the low end and midrange power. A full exhaust system to max out the bhp is meant to have velocity stacks and remap. Be interesting to see the difference between the full tune minus the cam change and the original set up. My preference for a tune would be those variable velocity stacks, a power commander or a similar custom ECU, SET back exhaust piping and race can.
Thank you for making this video you saved me a lot of time 🙏 Just one wire to disable the servo and to put out the error for the F1 light 😲 It's hard to believe it was that easy 💯
Thank you I had an F1 check engine light for the exhaust control unit on my 2004 gsxr 1000 I only disconnected the black with brown wire and 🎉 no more F1 light thank you so much for the video !!
Strip and clean the SET valve when the F1 light comes on. It aids bottom and mid range torque. Mine is left in, in a tuned 1000 K2., PS 600s deff don't have a set valve on K1 K2. I don't think 750 has either.
which position ios the valve set at thorough mate ?open or closed, and has this disabled the f1 light on the dash,im looking at removing the cables or the whole set depending which is easier but the ecu wire being the last thing to do which allegedly gets rid of the f1 light
@@spiritofsaintlouis removing the wire from the ecu does. not sure about the rest was 4 odd years ago and i sold that bike on , i did have a fault code but that was the stva which we fixed by taking it apart and resoldering
I've just bought a k1 gsxr600 with what looks to be a full system with a Yoshi on it. I'm assuming since I have no warning lights etc that its already been modded and is good to go?
why disable it, the set valve makes the bike faster and more responsive at low speed, I live on the Isle of Man, no speed limit on the mountain, believe me,the bike is fast enough already !!

Thank you so much. You're a complete legend. Worked a treat on my K2. Cheers.

Finally got rid of my f1 light and that sound. Thanks

Did you loose low end power when you disconnected valve?
Don't you want to remove the valve as a restriction? Is it siezed fully open or partially closed?
How do u know if the flapper thingy set valve is now open or closed 🤣😂👍
thanks for the vid, not a lot of ones out there for my exact year anymore. did this eliminate the F1 light as well?
im more worried as the bikes off the valve is in the closed position when he removed the pin ?
Does that kill the f1 light as well
Do the cables off the Set Valve run to the STVA on the throttle bodies?

f1?
@@spiritofsaintlouis sorry FI not F1.. if your not sure what that is, its the engine warning light on the dash that shows faults
@@wevsky does this turn off the light fi?. code c46. thanks

@@wevsky Thank you very much brow. I will test today
The same process works for the k3
Thank you getting ready to do this on my k3
Any got the go for the K3 ??
Is the butterfly open after this ,,,I got a k3 1000 …
@@nigelpritchard994 f1? on?
k3/k4 has the same process but I think the wire color is different (still pin 34). I cannot confirm the color for k3 because I don't have one.
Not working, the red light is still
thank you

It's not seized it's the junk servo with the plastic gears skipping over each other 😥
What is a woodpecker sound why is mine doing it
Your SET valve is seized and can't be actuated when the bike turns on. Did you even watch the video?

All about the Roads
Hi. The valve is used to make less noise before 3 rpm ...;) What are you talking about? hahah
Ни че такая
That does not sound right ...nor appear right to tamper with the ECU ...
