Dan Sterenson How long does the battery life last on the drone? Is that Nixon camera a good starting out camera? Also would it be worth buying a GoPro Hero 5 now? and wait for the GoPro Karma too?
the battery life lasts for about 25 min of flying. the Nikon camera is good but maybe a bit expansive, it depends on what you are looking for, maybe a Gopro will be a good solution for you. I heard that the Hero 5 is an excellent camera but i don't see a lot of major differences from the hero 4 except for the bit rate. i used Dji Drone but I'm sure karma is good as well.

Thanks for the info. I do like GoPro's but I hate the fish eye effect. It really annoys me. I want a professional camera like that Nixon. I'm thinking of saving up for it. I want to make videos exactly like yours. I made my own NZ video if you want to watch it. Its got nothing on yours though. It was my first video.
I'm sure it's a nice memory even though its not the most professional video. Actually you can get rid of the fish eye effect, just change the settings to narrow screen and not wide. Ill watch your video in a sec :)

I have watched this video about 3 times a day since I found it. I saved it to my phone. Best video ever. In fact; This video inspired me SO MUCH that I went out and bought a Canon 750d as my first camera. hopefully it's good enough to film with.
Tom Wilson Hey! Yes! It's good enough! I have a canon 750d myself and can recommend to start with DaVinci Resolve as first tool for editing your videos! (In case you have questions : ask me ) =)

Thanks, we started hiking at 3 pm... So most of the people were on the way down. In the dark we used our head lights.

Your video is amazing! Gets me even more excited for my trip to NZ. If you don't mind me asking, did you complete the entire stretch of Routeburn track and kepler track? Or just the day hikes? Cheers.
Thanks. In October parts of the tracks were full of snow so u need some axes and crampons in order to complete the entire track. In both tracks we walked for about 8 hours to one of the huts, spent the night in the hut amd the next morning we went back the same way.

Hi, Thanks a lot! im glad u liked it. the 2:27 shot has been taken on the Arthur's pass. I don't remember the exact location but we just stopped the car and took a nice shot of the landscape. :)

What a great film! We are headed there in early March. A couple questions if you don't mind. The farm where you got to feed the sheep, what was the name/location of that. Also the same question for the mountain biking scene. I would assume you rented the bikes? Thanks. It certainly is an inspiring film.
Hi Lance, I'm jealous, its an amazing country. I'm glad you liked the video. the farm where we feed the lambs and we did some horse riding was in Backcountry Saddle Expedition (just between Wanaka and Queenstown) . It was a lovely farm with lovely people. We rented the bikes in Wanaka, there are plenty of bike rental places and you can take the bikes and rise along the lake.
Came back across your video in an old watch list. Still love it so much. We used it as a guide for so many of our own experiences on our trip. Thank you again for sharing your journey!

Dan Sterenson it's breathtaking awesome video, we were in NZ last December, it is the best place we have ever visited. I am still working on my video edit. We also visited Australia after NZ, checkout the video in my channel.

If you are talking about the really blue water, this is in Hokitika gorge. If you are talking about the mountain range walking, this is in Ben Lemond track in Queenstown.

Electroflame13 Hi, yes we rented the van. it was about 1600nzd for a month including a full insurance. but it was off season, in summer its way more expensive.

Hi, i was in NZ for 1 month and it was about 3000NZD for this 1 month. I traveled in the beginning of spring so everything was cheaper than in summer.
