Eduardo West New beetle did not come with 6 cylinder engine (1998-2010 series) this one is a 4 cylinder TDI (turbo diesel) 1.9TDI 110hp(probably) It also came with 1.8T 150hp engine (like the one on my channel) and it came with the 2.3 N/A V5 engine with 170hp but the 1.8T is the best engine fastest accelerating in the beetle.
@@cars_on_street The 1.8T is hands down the best. And, honestly the handling is out of this world. Thought about getting a TDI but for some reason their asking price is way out of reasonable nowadays
Well, max speed is like 112 at 4K. Surprisingly -or maybe it’s a physics thing with the mechanical workings- but the rpm doesn’t seem to scale evenly with the speed. Like 50mph in 5th is like 2.3-2.4k or something like that but once you hit 55-70/80mph it’ll stay around 3-3.5 fairly consistently. Don’t know if I explained it well, probably not. But, just know, if you’re gonna go for a new beetle and know how to drive stick, the 1.8T is your best option. Amazing handling, forgiving clutch, and the best performance in most categories in comparison to its 1.9T and 2.0 counterparts.
Pretty sure it’s a diesel thing. The TDI is a diesel model, most people think TDI stands for turbo diesel intake/injection, but it actually stands for turbocharged direct injection, it’s just that that’s how diesels work so there’s really no need to have it in the acronym
The 1998 to 2010 gen beetles were unreliable garbage. I know a lot of people who had these things and all of them had problems. The second gen 2012 to 2019 much better in terms of reliability. The new beetle poor reputation, high repair cost and expensive price tag is why this car sales never recovered. No one gave the current generation beetle a chance.
It does make for a good used car to buy, especially if your learning to drive manual, it’s fairly forgiving. Now, my opinion could be skewed due to the 1.8T being arguably the best model that came out of it, and of course, that’s the model I learned manual from. Still drive it to this day with minimal mishaps. Really just electrical problems every now n then, that is admittedly common for the new beetles. But, It drives nice, and the size makes for a very comfortable experience.
I drive a 2004 no frills new beetle, manual transmission. I bought it new. Lots of sensor and electrical problems, though. Those have all been fixed. It has 54,000 original miles. I had the whole car overhauled to the tune of over 16 ,000.00 in mechanical repairs. I put a new overhead liner in, replaced the window regulator, repairs that would need to be done to bring it back to new condition. The paint still looks fabulous. Everything works. I am 71. Last of 3 cars I will ever buy in this lifetime. New cars are extremely expensive. It's still so much fun to drive. I usually don't accelerate over 65 on freeways. Drives really nice. GREAT VIDEO!
Thank you. You’re the only guy who did a good job. These interiors actually feel roomy
I'm learning to drive in my brothers 04 vw new beetle hatchback it,s so much fun to drive now I want one hopefully a 2010 beetle
MentalMarshmellow 33 vw beetles are the best to learn to drive in.
Vw beetle is my dream car
I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!
5 years ago. When cars were normal and had less electronic crap that breaks easily.
The Volkswagen beetle had a lot of electronic and transmission problems in 2004
The new beetle doesn't have confort blinker and so you didn't blinked when you changed lanes.
@Cassius Nolan Definitely, been watching on flixzone for since december myself =)
@Cassius Nolan definitely, have been watching on flixzone for months myself :)

do all beetles rev high? driving at 100kmh is was at 3000rpm , that seems high?

Had a 2003 beetle and absolutely nothing wrong with it...
Picked one up for 900 bucks. Best little car ever.
