The touchscreen was available from 1989 to 1992. It was an expensive option back then. Olds debut it on the last short body 89 year and carried it over to 90-92. 😊.
The digital cluster for 90-92 was very unique because Olds reoriented the connector differently from previous years. It was only available with a base model Toro when equipped with a front bench seat. A 90-92 digital cluster is a holy grail level part as only 300 were made. Any that exist today can easily command a thousand bucks if working, few hundred if not. Let the search begin.. 😂

Mr. B. here ! Worked for Oldsmobiles when they were new . Sad to see it boneyard. It look good but customers who own the big ones were not happy, they felt Olds made it cheap. But some of good things were put into it.
I was gonna ask Benny; Did you get the "Kim Specials"? lol. I can't wait to see the Lincoln & the Ford Ranger!!! I agree with you that the Olds Toronado does look good and has that 90s design that are now getting popular. It's too bad that this one is here. I guess its due to the lack of desirable options, the tattered interior, and the niche community. Still a nice car with an reliable 3800 engine! Even I would drive it!

It had gremlins , digital dash would geek out and you had to send it off to a dash expertly , $400 cost with a 1 year warranty , Trans would go 130 kn
I remember when they downsized the Toro/Eldo/Riv for the 1986 model year many people including myself wrote them off as a GM disaster. But when I see one of them on the road today I have to admit they do make me stop and take a closer look.
Some of the dash stuff from this would sell, the button panel, climate control head, maybe that factory CD player. Some of it is one year only, so it won't sell fast but you'd make a good profit when the guy who needs one finds yours. The tilt you need the key with it, they have that chip deal in them. A lot of work to pull for like a $200 piece. Headlight actuators might also sell if they work.
I would have considered the gauge cluster if it had been the digital one but not available on that year in this model. I found the keys and yep one had the chip like my 89 firebird. I'm pretty picky these days on which columns I pull. Would have a feeling that one would take a good while to sell. That car has been there for about a month and not a single part has been removed
Whoa Nelley, it's a Olds and it's not worth its' weight in gold. We got the VIN, we win: 1G3 for US made Oldsmobile, EV13 for Toronado Trofeo, 1 for 3.8L V6 with MFI, 0 is a check digit, N for the 1992 model year, U for Hamtramck, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The GM Hamtramck, MI plant is situated on part of what was the old Chrysler Dodge Main Hamtramck, MI plant which operated from 1911 to 1980. The GM plant opened in 1985 to assemble 1986 and up GM luxury models and still operates today. No, the Toronado, Riviera and Eldorado were redesigned for 1986 (not 1985), and production was moved from Linden, NJ (where they were made from 1979 to 1985) to Hamtramck, MI. 1989 was the first year for the CRT. No tag, can't brag, but this should be code 81 Bright Red exterior paint. These should have the RPO code "ME9" THM440T-4 which wasn't a great transmission. Rumor was that GM used unskilled labor to rebuild them for service replacement use. Whoa Nelley, 3.8 was never great. 3800 and gotta go. V6 hit the bricks. Division 3 and it's over for thee. E body looking very shoddy. Bright Red and soon to be going to bed. That's it, time to quit. Made in MI going bye-bye. I’m not sure if the olds got the CRT screen but the sister car the Riviera had it from I think 86 to 89
I think 90 was the last year that the Troféo got it. The regular Toronado got it all the way until 92 if not mistaken
