I agree with every point of this video, the new worlds are what attracts players to PVZ2 mods and the rebalancing of plants also makes a difference. If a new world was to be added to base PVZ2, I would come back along with many many players, but it’s unlikely a new world will be added.

I do find it pretty strange that they're adding most of the ingredients needed for a new world. Only things missing being world maps and unique world mechanics.

Well regarding the plants, they have reassigned previously premium plants into gemiums like Squash. An alternative to this is they can just maintain the seedium status but playing the worlds here should just make unlocking these easier by rewarding them more seeds instead of the coin rewards or outright unlocking the plants like from the previous worlds.
Alongside a new world i wish they let players choose their plant's levels after leveling up, so i could play all gamemodes without feeling underpowered in arena/pp and overpowered in adventure.
I completely agree. You shouldn't be forced to only grow stronger without being able to weaken yourself again.
Yeah. It really destroyed the fun for me. I liked climbing from rank to rank in arena, but had no chance after reaching jade. Like, they give the rewards to those who already have enough to compete with others anyway, while my plant levels are so low, that I don't even have a chance at holding the zombies back, and can't get the rewards I would need.
Plants vs. Zombies 2 is probably the most predatory game I've ever played. Modes like penny's pursuit and arena feel more like a chore you have to do, if you want to compete with others at all. Arena is the most pay to win mode if I've ever seen one, and it sucks.
I find it interesting that they recently added bamboo spartan, a plant I would consider fitting for a world like that

I don't think a new world would come, but I think they could make a new mode including levels for all worlds and difficulty selection.

I would’ve liked something rather than just restricting these worlds to thymed events, like a secret realms mode like how the Chinese version has, or atleast some other way to replay it. I don’t like how you can’t play the thymed event after it’s over, it really feels like this was popcap’s way of making new worlds without making new worlds.

We’ve got romans, carnival zombies and the Z-tech zombies and yet no worlds on them
You have to understand how difficult it would be to add a new world right now. First up, they are going to have to do something about the upgrade system, as plants or atleast the OP ones just can't be killed by zombies. If they do add a new world somehow, then a difficulty meter will have to be added to the world's, just like Penny's pursuit. Will it be cool? Yes, is there a high chance of it happening? Well 50/50. It is definitely possible but the devs are going to have to do a LOT of working. But the Romans are somewhat the only zombies which could end up getting a new world, as other than ZCorp or Carnie zombies, they have their own music. And even though some of the other unique zombies have this, the Romans also have its own zomboss, lawn mowers, lawn. But still, I doubt it.
Those work arounds aren't that bad to implement. Also, you can't call it hard when the developer are paid to do a job.. to develop the game. Making a new world would just be part of their 9-5 job that they get paid a salary to do. I agree that the Roman world is most likely.

If they did add a Rome world, then I would want it to come after big wave beach because I want modern day to always be the final world and also I really enjoyed this video like I do with all of the others great job

But something like secret realms would work too, I just think popcap made that game mode since they don’t have to make new map assets and can just make levels, it’s a lot easier to just make a new lawn and some new zombies than an entire new world which took months for old popcap to do. @@CatWithALime yeah, we already have vasebreaker separate but I think it would be better if there was a minigame section like pvz1, they could a lot of the old minigames and let us replay the world specific ones. I’m not sure why they removed pirate seas and ancient Egypt’s minigames though.
Not so fun fact: You are completely right about the developers, in fact , PvZ2 changed developers three whole times, yet the Sad part is that half of developers are outsourced workers from India, with probably little to no communication between each half according to one ex-developer that left PopCap.

@@jagerzaku9160 Oh yeah, It was said by one of the exdevs Who left the company on 2021 on a conversation. In fact, as being outsourced people, they aren't credited on PvZ2 , as they deleted all credits. I can be more precise if you want, but I might go into a rabbit hole... Again
One fix for me if new worlds were to be added is to remove the leveling feature in adventure mode, and rebalance the op plants for adventure mode, along with the the zombies. So it’ll fit in line when there were no leveling features
I remembered when I thought Penny's Pursuit was the new final world with the environment being inside the time portal

It seems like the closest we’ll get to new worlds is the Thymed events. We’re getting the Zombosseum soon, including a new Zomboss. It appears that PVZ2 just doesn’t care to make new worlds anymore, but they’re willing to get close lol
Honestly even before the Roman zombies were added, I wondered why they never made a world off of that since it is one of those well-known time- periods along with things like the world war, although I highly doubt they'll make a world based on that.
As for the circus, roman, z-corp zombies, I hope they get their own worlds and same with the Chinese exclusive ones. It would defiantly bring me back to the game since I like circus themed things and new world generally would be very enjoyable.
Also having worlds based on other events like Halloween, Easter, and Christmas would also be very fun. It'll be harder to fit them into the time travel theme but it'll still be enjoyable.
I also made world, zombie and plant concepts of the former 2 zombie types you just said. I can agree they won't add a world war I or II themed event because that could have some reference to something REALLY BAD.

This takes me back to the days of when I was a hardcore pvz2 player back then and they announced the release of Far Future and then began to make a lot of my own concepts about what other worlds they would create in the future. Was really disappointed when I found out about the roman zombies because that was literally the first idea I came up with. I had a piece of paper racking up the name ideas of just different eras throughout human history I could thought of then but I'm not so sure I can find it nowadays.
A cool thing would be if they made a 5-15$ dlc that had crazy Dave accidentally destroy the taco with a waffle in it then the time rift breaks adding the Roman world, zcorp world and the circus world and being full worlds they would have about 6 plants each and once you beat the dlc you get level extensions for the other worlds and a random premium/sedium plant and if you own all of these plants you get 250 diamonds
What I think could be done:
Take some of the levels from Zombosseum and turn them into adventure levels. The featured plants in the Thymed Event - Shadow Peashooter, Snow Pea, and Chilly Pepper - could be unlocked in this world. They could retain their current price, and Snow Pea could give a *huge* seed packet boost to those that already bought it. (something like 500 seeds, because people that wasted money on Snow Pea need compensation) I'd also like for Boingsetta and Murkademia Nut to be unlockable to make up a full roster of five and to keep with the shadow and ice theme.
This will never happen, but it's nice to imagine.
I still don't understand why Snow Pea out of all premium plants or any plant was featured or envolved in the thymed event but yeah I think that is cool because I wanted Snow Pea for the longest time and I don't want to spend money. Also the two world promoted premium plants that could be in this world are Bamboo Spartan and Bean Sprout
Another world would be incredible to see. I want to see this game get talked more positively than negatively since the game hasn’t been doing all that great and has only been getting bad press from people. I think the reason why PvZ has gotten so popular is because animations of PvZ on RUclips and I can’t think of a incredible PvZ animation youtuber than HH TQN who was a Plants vs Zombies fan animator back in the day and they were the only RUclipsr that got me back to playing PvZ2 and got me invested in PvZ series in general back in late 2016 when Modern Day final update was release because I loved there animations. I’m convince HH TQN was the only youtuber that advertise premium plants better than Pop Cap and most youtubers (sorry Zack Scott) because HH TQN gave those plants personality and that’s what been missing in PvZ for a while, it lost its charm and now it feels like a soulless mobile game trying to grab anything. If Pop Cap hires HH TQN to make PvZ animated shorts then we would be living in a better timeline right now where people would actually buy the seedling packs plants because the new plants in term of animation and design has been getting downgraded each year. For goodness sakes, Clash of Clans and Royale has animation shorts featuring new characters and those get insane amount of views. Plants vs zombies animations are still popular on RUclips so why not hire actual good animators to advertise the game just like back when Pop Cap hired animators to make a Tobuscus and Jay and Silent Bob animation to promote PvZ2...it was 2013, times were different back in the day XD.

The zcorp theme gained a lawnmower and a lawn with music that have not yet been used yet, along with a new zombie inspired by the basketball launcher from PVZ1, so the only thing missing would be a zomboss.
If a new world was added, i think they should've levels of difficulty too, to mach the power of our plants.
Would be neat if Z-Corp was added as a bonus world with an extra final boss. It could be much harder than the previous worlds since at this point most people's plants are way overpowered.
Good to see a real update again. At first new plants every month was cool, but nowadays they haven’t been made with quality in mind. So many of them are useless and look like they are from the Chinese version. Still glad to see night cap though. It literally took them so long to release that fricking plant
What I loved about pvz2 was seeing new zombies, environments, hazards and plants whenever I unlocked a new world. It hyped me up and I wanted to finish the world! But if Popcap won't add a new world, then the only thing that can give us new worlds are game devs and modders.
Who remember when arena mode gave so many gems that you could just unlock arena plants by geming them
Someone or some team needs to make some kind of MEGA OVERHAUL mod, which will add more worlds, mini games (maybe ports from pvz1 with pvz2 mechanics), fix plants/zombies, rebalance, etc. If a modder(s) can pull it off it would be insanely worth it.
The Chinese version of PVZ has more maps and plants. The Steam Age, Kung Fu world, and a few more. I think the international team shold use the Chinese maps and plants to make the game different.
Or maybe they can ask for help or ideas from the Popcap Shanghai team, and bring some plants or zombies that are only exclusive to the Chinese version.
They literally have no rights to use those maps or anything new PVZ2C has

Honestly I don't know why they never decided to had worlds with the zombies they already have (the zcorp, romans and carnival zombies) I do feel like a new world now would be weird and to be fair modern day is supposed to be the finale; still would love to see these already existing zombies in worlds (as far as I am concerned I haven't even seen that in mods)
they should make pvz featuring different countries around the world. different concept for zombies in every countries and also maybe include some interesting plants that exist in that country.

My biggest problem with PvZ2 nowadays is that, instead of it feeling like a sequel, it feels like a gacha/live service spin-off with how much grinding and how much little strategy there is. Like how Grind Thousand is a gacha game spinoff to Eclise. The reason as to why PVZ2 was at its peak in 2013-2016 was because despite being a free-to-play game, the monetization wasn't that bad at all. Sure there are ads and premium plants, but I use a adblocker for ads, and premium plants are optional. Here in 2023, EVERYTHING HAS TO BE MONETIZED. Leveling is monetized, loot-boxes are here, most plants are monetized, and there are energy systems, which means the new game modes and events are monetized. Also doesn't help that the zombies are too overpowered, new plants are either game breaking or do jack shit, the UI and new plants look like shit, and the new game modes aren't that fun. At this point, a new world wouldn't bring me back because a would rather play discontinued version of a game that is fun, rather than a game that gets updates but is shit. I left modern PvZ2 in the dust back in June of 2022 by switching to version 4.5.2 (5.3.1 or 6.0.1 if I want to do challenges) and I haven't regretted it once ever since.

let's be honest if popcap was to add new world/s with art, music, unlock able plants, and more they would slap a 1,000 gem price tag to make it happen.
Seriously ,Like grinding the minigames are just fun when cool plants are around ,or long gone arena plants can now be gotten in the penny's persuit ,but the could just add the Roman world and many players will come back to the game ,and if they say it's hard that is an excuse as they could copy another world and edit it ,they can add another dark world with the removed mushrooms(dart shroom,zoom shroom ,vacuum shroom ,and maybe even gloom shroom from pvz1)
they could add dlc worlds that would be accessible through the rift thing at the end of the world map
Z Corp could be a new world too, because they also have a lawn and music, they just need a Zomboss. They actually have way more music than Rome.
I was doing a roman world in pvz2 but i didnt make so much progress, i just added the world, maded 12 levels (8 and 12 are unfinished) and added 5/6 plants for the world
And also maded ballista more dangerous
They could add a 4 option called bonus worlds that unlock only after beating the story mode. I could also see them making you pay for each bonus world and if they didn't want to add plants to it they could add something good enough to replace the plant option and give each individual world it's own little storyline and new minigames. They would have to buff the levels because most players would beat the new worlds to easily without a difficulty increase
Yea i think like that thing after modern day that maybe they could like add extra world maybe with or no plants but its like extra content that would be cool i doubt that
wish you could actually do a follow up to the one seed slot challenge, since I have played for it for months and find 37 extra levels (for now)...
If they add the Roman world I don't think they will put it after Modern Day because if they do that then they would have to create more levels or edit the original Modern Day levels to add The Roman zombies and also add their characteristic portals, which would be more unnecessary work, I think they would rather put it after Modern Day.
Remember when there were at least _some_ interesting flavor texts in the Almanach? Now there's basically none.
(note how I said "some" - I'm not saying every flavor text was good in the older versions - Pirate Flag Zombie comes to mind)
I do wish they would make new worlds and also I like both penny’s pursuit and arena they are a good motivator for me to play the game plus I like repetitive tasks
Popcap shoould update the modern world with ported old environment including pool with foggy andd thunderstorms then rooftop with some twist

One thing that is missing for a roman world to be added is the main world gimmick (like the frost winds in Frostbite Caves, or the tide on BWB).
maybe they have a wave where they shoot spears to the plants closest to the lawnmowers since the romans had spears also maybe they could have some shield formation but then idk
Just like Tf2, PVZ2 will most likely ( in my opinion ) NOT receive any Major Update soon, because We have to consider at PvZ2 as a Product, if the product gather attention and makes profit, you will Invest more into it, similar to how E.A look at it ( or similar to how Valve look at Team fortress 2 )
This is not a bad thing, it's actually how a company survive, they have to prioritize making profit for their sake!
And for us........ We'll love it no matter what ^_^

It would be cool if they added a hard more alternate "corrupted" or "apocalypse" version of each world
these levels will have:
Way more waves
Each wave has mini boss type zombie(allot stronger than gargs)
Way stronger zombies(hp, gimmicks)
Slightly different world gimmicks with stronger effects
As an example
Big wave beach would be set in a timelime where the entire earth is flooded
It would have more aquatic animal theme zombies and aquatic adapted zombies (such as having fins and gills)
Its world gimmicks would be
1. whirlpools spawn which can carrys zombies and does damage to plants
2.every flag wave of zombies would have a large wave that knocks all plants/zombies to the left by 3 tiles
Some others
"Exctinction"(jurrassic marsh)
Zombies:riding dinos(dinos will also have hp, still affect by perfume)
World gimmicks: meteors will periodically fall from the sky (destroys hit plants leaves crater similar to rockpuncher zombie),
"Tar" tiles (plants have 75% attack speed reduction) can be lit on fire
Each wave there will be an earthquake which stuns all plants for 3s and wil spawn cracks which will become tar.
They should add Roman/ Greece one.- spartan , gladiator zombies
Chinese/Japanese - Samurai,ninja zombies
No limits to be innovative
Bamboo spartan can be added as normal plant

At this point, if they really want to get more money, I'd say they should go all out and make a proper steam port of PVZ2, along with some more balancing, and way more extra content. I saw this one mod concept of the PVZ reddit that was pretty much exactly like this, and I thought it was a really good idea, and even though it would take a lot of time and effort, I know for sure I along with many long time fans, would be hyped, and would be willing to pay like twenty bucks for a perfect PVZ2 on steam

I think we need to depend on modes like reflourished that adds 2 NEW WORLDS ( kinda because it’s a world and a half ) they made pvz2 more fair and fun game with balance changes and even making the premium plants free or with gems so I think this is the best way to fix pvz2 because popcab won’t gonna do shit
They kinda brought that world to the American one. In penny’s pursuit there is an Easter egg. In the almanac Roman Zombies have a background looking like a Rome background.
Maybe it has something to do with the size of the game on mobile. They dont want to go much higher with the download size. This might also explain why alot of music is reused or that different variations of music got removed from the game.
nah pvz2 is a lost cause, maybe before 10.1 it couldve still be saved but right now theres just so many glitches and the devs dont even know how to fix them (instead of fixing the glitch where you could save and quit pinata parties to play them infinitely, they removed the option to save and quit enitrely lol)
There's the music bug where sometimes the music randomly cuts off for specific devices, there's the text bug where the text randomly cuts off, the dinosaurs on jurassic marsh have not been updated for newer phones so they look like they were sliced in half. The fricking zen garden is still in 14 by 9 ratio which hasnt been updated for newer phones. The zombies' assets randomly clip into each other sometimes.
There are many more, these are just examples.
Good video but one thing I'd like to add as to why popcap probably won't ever add a new world is because it wouldn't keep players around for long. Even if they make it 32 levels long like some of the later worlds, most people will probably just return, finish the world in maybe a few days to a week at most, and then leave. Even if they already have a lot of the stuff needed to make a new world, there's no guarantee it'll keep players around for long, which is what they want, so why go through the effort to make a new world? At least with the new plants, people have to grind for a month straight in arena to get them or over spend for them.

Why don't we do this: If pop cap doesn't add a new world or even just say "screw it" and make all the premium plants gemiums, or do something to truly save pvz2 by the end of this year, we raid their hq.
There was a gem glitch with the extended levels and i got 80 gems per every time i load the game up so i was able to get 20,000 gems before it got patched so i get every arena plant with gems
It should be that if u finish modern day dave asks u if u want to travel to have some fun and u travel to the new world

I agree with everything but…when they changed it to where after Ancient Egypt day 6 you would get all of the world keys to you having to go in order when that happened I lost all my progress and the money plants to so I’m worried that that will happen again 😅
Man when I first downloaded game My first goal was to collect every single plant but when I realize a lot of these plants are impossible to get, I’m sad😢

i havent played plants vs zombies 2 in a while, but if they added a new world i would check it out immediately. the new events and such are cool, but they feel unfinished, unpolished, lazy, and using already made resources. i love this game and remembered when new worlds would come out and get really excited. (has it really been over six years? i feel old.) a new world is sitting right there. its so close yet so far. i doubt the developers would want to make a world, and as you said, they probably dont know how to make a (good) world. very nice video, i agreed with all of your points.

I've been wanting a mod that revamps old worlds, adds new worlds, while keeping the game mostly the same, aside from a few balance changes, most mods change the game too much, and some mods are way too difficult to make the game feel like it's fair. All of the mods feel too unofficial, also the fact that the mods are keeping the game alive is funny because the community is the one keeping the game alive, not the devs.

Really good video though, I didn't even know that they added a lawn for the roman zombies (who I've only seen appear once), or the circus zombies (which I have never seen). Would definitely be really cool if they got their own worlds but unfortunately seems entirely out of the cards.
