Naturally he was not a political figure to remain indulged in political stances when his own followers were persecuted in Afghanistan, Syria, Uganda, etc. In fact he always made use of diplomacy and even offered his house for negotiation to American and USSR President which ended cold war. He had come on the throne of Imamat in 1957 and not in 1955. Imam Ismail had not died in the life of Imam Jaffer Sadiq. He was in hiding due to threat to his life. If Imams of other faith could be in hiding forever, Imam Ismail too could be for some time. The second marriage with an German Princess was solemnized after she had converted to Islam and her Islamic name was Inara.

However some shia of Iraq state didn't oblige Imam Jaffer us Sadiq's will and they did not agree to take Bayeet (acceptance ) of Imam Ismail.So,they became Shia Atna Ashari (the twelvers ).
