This is a strange place to be at 2 am in the morning. Didn't think I needed an epaulette tutorial, but I am not complaining. I really like your easy to listen voice and simple instructions. Thank you!
This is pretty cool. I'm working on a historically inspired winter jacket, and I've been having trouble with the epaulets. The main issue is that they have an ornamental stone pyramid on each of them, which are pretty heavy
I have that same rule. No glue for fabric! Sewing machine only! But you've made this so neat and tidy, that I am going to pick up some batting and dust off my glue gun tonight. Thank you!
I used some strong thread and a thick needle to get through the painted fabric. And then I sewed it onto the jacket. But I just thought about it, and gluing some velcro would work great for a no-sew option!
Wonderful to hear! No, I hand-sewed them on (with a thick needle that I could wiggle through the painted fabric.) But Velcro would definitely be an option!

Would bukram work well here? I am a professional upholsterer and soft furnisher so am experienced in its use. Some are impregnated with glue which bonds to fabric when heat is applied through ironing. Love your work. Very high quality.
I think stiff buckram would do pretty good here, I'm using Eva foam rather than cardboard because I don't want it to get mouldy if it goes in the wash. :D
Sorry for my late reply! I have a template, but can't attach it to this reply. Can you write me at bellamaesdesigns@gmail.com ? I'll then send you the template!
