    So... I knitted this from the video. While I am not exactly a beginner, I am far from experienced. It went pretty well until the joining at the top. The instructions for this were difficult for me to follow and by the time I finally figured it out I had a horrible seam line, although once I figured it out the seam line disappeared. Also, I found the contrast string and instructions to seam the front ribbed band cumbersome and frankly a waste of time, as following the instructions was difficult and my seams did not line up correctly, so I ended up just removing the contrast string and stitching. FINALLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY think hard before doing the decreases when casting on the stitches for the face ribbed band. I used a bigger needle than she did and followed her instructions and the band is MUCH smaller than the original opening. If I ever do another one I will NOT decrease here. Overall, beautiful pattern and very helpful video! Thanks for sharing!

    That's the third time I've gravitated to your tutorials for a project, even before I've recognised you're the same person!
    You have an unmatched ability to simply explain and show a process that can easily get confusing. Thank you so much.

    I've been knitting all my life. Started when I was 8 or 9 😄
    This kind of thing was new to me and the first time I learned how to make invisible seam. Wow!! I got it down now, I'm so proud of myself!!
    Thanks again!!! It's warm and so pretty. Even for a beginner.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. You explained very clear what to do. The written instructions were also really helpful. However I really struggled with the invisible seam and ended up making the 3 needle bind off method. I used a cotton yarn and the balaclava came out really warm and cozy. I will definetly knit a balaclava with a wool yarn for really cold days. All in all i am super happy with the result. 😄🧶

    I wouldn’t say this is just for women.. I made a red and black one for my housemate when he’s in his studio area, changed the face rib to an applied icord (much easier and simpler) and didn’t bother with the tie.. perfect!
    Thanks for the awesome idea!

    • @marlee7389
      @marlee7389 6 месяцев назад +2

      If you pick up all the stiches then it's gonna be too big and wouldn't look nice. You can try and see what's gonna happen 😉
      You can always take it apart and start again. I like the trying method when it's too difficult to understand.
      Sorry I don't know the knitting language too well. Not a native speaker 😄

    Love the detailed tutorial! The top of the hood looks really nice. I'm going to try this for my project. I wonder, is there a way to make the back of the head look round instead of pointy? Some kind of decrease trick, maybe?

    • @CrazyHandsKnitting
      @CrazyHandsKnitting  9 месяцев назад

    Why do stitches have to be picked up in the knit stitches and why not the selvedge stitches?
