Incredible, how big your's is! All I've ever seen is compact Hibikis 😀 your's is massive! Seriously ... I am with you on looking forward to seeing your's bloom. I cant get over the size 😅 thank you for taking the time to get on the Hibiki CareCollab train 🤸🏼♀️🤸🏼♀️ have a wonderful day, David 🌸
Thanks Nina 😊🙏, so I decided to actually measure the longest cane and it’s 30 cm. I’m definitely starting to think that the Den. bracteosum genes are stronger in this cross because of the larger canes and the subtle fragrance.
I got the Hibiki a couple of months ago, repotted it, removed two keikis, and now it's in bloom. There are two sets of blooms on two canes and half have roots. I'll be posting a video soon.
Wow, that is a huge Hibiki. Mine is teeny and blooms like crazy, It is obviously a quite varied hybrid - I have seen videos from growers in England with big girls like this. I am so glad I have a small one. But big or small, they are lovely flowers and long lasting!
It sure is BIG👌!!!! The largest hibiki I have ever seen. Does your hibiki know she is supposed to be a miniature?🤣🤣 I can see your newer canes are smaller. Just like mine, the pre-existing canes when I bought my orchid are longer than the ones growing under my care. It makes me wonder, what do nurseries feed the orchids with 🤔??? Looking forward to your blooms !!!!
Your plant looks great, wow! I was fertilizing during winter, maybe that's the reason why I have only one spike. I will try to cut ferts this winter...
Thanks Orchideya 😊🙏 hoping to keep it in a good condition and see where that takes me in Spring. If I don’t have a full flush of blooms then I’m cutting fertiliser for the following year too. P.S. I love all your Vanda falcata 🪴
That is a lovely size plant, Hibiki is a medium sized Dendrobium and I have seen it grown with canes as long as yours very successfully. There is now a miniature version out there called Baby Hibiki, but it is quite common in some cases to get the longer canes. Cannot wait to see it flower.
Thanks Lynn 😊🙏 I’m hoping I can keep it as happy as it was when I bought it. From watching all the CareCollabs I’m planning on keeping it warm and giving it lots of water.
@@OrchidsFynbos I never succeeded keeping mine warm, it seems happier intermediate. 16 months is the longest I have kept one alive for 🤞🤞🤞🤞good luck with it
Thanks Michelle 😊🙏 my trick is PowerPoint / Keynote (depending on PC or Mac). You make and animated PowerPoint with a green/blue background and export to video. Then add the video file to your editing program and set it on top of your main video and tick the blue/green screen option. I think all editing programs have that option. It changed my life when I discovered that, because you can literally do anything you can imagine 😊. If you get stuck give me a shout.
@@OrchidsFynbos ahh I’m so hard to teach new tech to. I don’t even know power point. So ya lost me. I will be appreciating your skills though. I use windows program on my pc.
Thanks Runke 😊🙏 It would love the extra humidity if you can provide it but I would not say it is absolutely necessary as long as you can give it adequate water in the growing season.
@@OrchidsFynbos thanks for replying. I’m thinking to grow it at home. Not so sure if it will do well without a greenhouse setup. The best I can is to put a humidifier near it. 😂
More Dave. Groete Jannie
Thanks Jannie, I think the best would be to connect with your local orchid society. I know there are a few Facebook community groups as well and Plantae also has a WhatsApp group. I’d prefer not to give my email out here but send me a private message on Instagram (djsc0) and I’ll help get you set up 😊

Valuable information reg.dendrobium hibikki.Thank you.
Thank you Jose 😊🙏 I’m glad you found the video informative. Happy growing 🪴🌸
This is a nice one. I like pink / purple blooms a lot. Lucky you have fragrance on this one. Great editing 👍
Thanks Nicole 😊🙏 yeah I also gravitate towards purple blooms and red ones too.

Thanks Judith 😊🙏 they really are beautiful orchids and definitely agree that they are quite varied. Happy growing 🌸🪴
Lucky you! A scented hibiki! Didn't even know that was possible. Excellent plant, and great care collab video...very informative!
ResQuetzal thank you 😊🙏. Yes a mild scent but definitely there. I’m suspecting a little more bracteosum in this cross due to the cane size and scent.
Wow, your Hibiki is MASSIVE!! 🤩 I didn't even know they can grow that tall 😆👍
Thanks What’s up orchids 😊🙏
That is one beautifully grown Hibiki, well done!
Thanks Orchids 365 😊🙏

Loved how you edited the circles with each channels in them. I’ve got a basic program, what editing program do you use?

Hey very informative video. Do you think this orchid needs high humidity level? Thanks!
