I cannot overstate my absolute deep appreciation for your honesty and candidness in your answers about the mistakes you feel Disney is making with the Disney parks. As an owner of a travel agency, making those statements is clearly not easy for you. But it shows that you are a man of integrity. And that goes along way with a lot of people. I believe because of that, your business will continue to grow. And I totally agree with you that all of these takeaways that Disney has implemented will hurt them. I hope that at some point Bob C. is removed from the CEO position, and someone who really gets it is put in his place and restores the excellence and magic that was once Walt Disney World from the past. We are going in February with my grandchildren for their very first trip. They will only get to experience the Disney magical express one time. And with all of the perks that are being removed, and with places like John and Kevin‘s villa with better accommodations at a much better price available, this may be our last on site stay. I hope my sentiment changes in the future because Disney decides to get back to better times. Here’s to hoping. Thank you for all that you do for the Disney community.

All the feels, Pete. I think what I've appreciated the most about you over the last 13 years is your honesty. It can be a blessing and a curse, I know. I HAVE reduced my trips to WDW, because of expense. We went almost every year in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I've been twice since 2004. I think what I miss most are extra magic hours, and the parks being open until midnight or later. There was always time to ride everything you wanted if you were willing to rope drop and stay until closing. And planning has gotten so complicated that it's hard for me to recommend a WDW vacation to family members who have never been and advance planning is NOT in their toolbox. That said, I just bought into DVC and hope to go next year if the stars align.

Losing Magical Express is actually a pretty big blow. To me that was a big part of the Disney bubble, not just a minor thing that really didn't matter. We're almost to the point that the only perk of staying on property is the early FastPass booking window (which costs Disney nothing).

    • @tuxedoinn
      @tuxedoinn 3 года назад +6

I agree. When we considered how cast members were treated during our last stay and how they are being treated now, we are having a real problem with the idea of coming back to Disney.

I agree with Pete! We are avid stay on property ppl and we took a trip in OCT and for the fist time in 15 years we stayed off property! We got a one bedroom with kitchen @ a Homewood suites ( including a hot breakfast that was ok) for less the a room @ a value resort. It took us 15 mins to get to MK.... I don’t know if I can justify the cost with no benefits....

I have more respect for Donald Trump than either of the Crooked Bobs and especially Lex Luthor. I'd even rather have Trump running Disney than those two. After I seize Disney in a hostile takeover I will make Disney great again by draining the swamp of everything they did to make it look like they were never there.

Thank you Pete for the Dis and for you honesty. My family and I are Disney fans and fly there once a year, we love it. I agree with all the comments that you share usually! ha ha ! However we love your honesty and openness to confront the good bad and ugly, even as a super fan we also disagree with several of the "business" decisions that they are making right now. I hope that Disney listens to us their biggest fans and customers that we do not like the cuts and them slowly eroding the magic. It is hard to justify the cost when they keep cutting. The magical express is what is makes those of us fly in to just stay at the parks our entire vacation. If I have to rent a car and drag my luggage myself there is little incentive to spend the cost for the Disney resorts, I will stay in town at the Hilton Bonnet creek or something similar for much cheaper than a deluxe resort. Not a very good decision that they will regret one it is gone I am sure.
Keep up the great work on the DIS we love it!

I always stay at Avante on I drive. I usually get a room for around $50 per night and it's always clean and the staff are friendly. I'm not in the room more than a few hours just to sleep anyway so I can care less about having Resort perks. I was checking in the other day and the lady told me I had stayed 31 times in the past 2 years so I have a good idea of what to look for. The biggest bonus about staying on I drive is there are tons of restaurants right there outside your room and Universal is within walking distance. The problem with the Disney Resorts is you have to walk sometimes a mile to get something to eat. Everything is usually so spread out and usually it takes me just as long to get from my hotel room to a park as it would if you stayed at a resort and had to wait on Transportation. Unless you are a DVC member or this is your first time to Disney and want only the Disney Experience I just don't see the benefit in staying at a Disney Resort. You could spend a lot more money in the Parks and have your room for a third the price as you would on property.

I have been to Disney from NYC countless times since 1977 now a Florida residents or the last 15 and have never stayed on Disney property. Never could justify the cost. I have stayed so many different places and neighborhoods. From cheap to really nice. From rooms to suites the choices are endless. Have only stayed at 2 locations that were really awful. Those 2 places are gone now. I understand everybody has different expectations. Do your research or reach out to a Travel Agency that specializes in Walt Disney World. You can have a great time for so much less than a Disney property. Before the current situation I loved to resort hop the Disney properties They are excellent visits. I can enjoy the properties beauty without the prices.
My first trip was the Magic Kingdom because that’s all their was. My favorite is EPCOT for similar reasons as Pete. Epcot is like no other place. Every time I go there it is like being transported to the place I have always wanted to be. Being there the first year until now despite the changes I still get that feeling as I enter the turnstiles and see Spaceship Earth a peace comes over me that can’t be matched. Sorry for the long dissertation I am just in a mood.

Thank you Pete. I have lived in Florida all my life. I remember my single mom saving a few dollars a month in order to take me to Disney 1 every year or so for a day in the late 80's and 90's. We would drive in her old car to Orlando from South Florida. Now, I am able to take my son a few times a year with the monthly annual pass holder program, and stay in the value resorts. Even though we are working class, we save up to go to Disney and sometimes I feel Disney is really loosing touch of the hardworking people that save pennies to go and are true fans.

Pete, I agree about Chapek but what does it say about Iger's leadership? This is the best they had waiting in the wings? It's almost like they knew that had to make the cuts but didn't want to be the face of it, so they stick Chapek out there, give him the CEO title, and let him be the fall guy. Chapek is just doing what the board is telling him, and he's more than willing to do it.

Hi Pete. I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your realness and honesty. I cringe when I watch smaller RUclipsrs who rave and applaud everything Disney no matter the hotel, restaurant, or ride. And I get why they have to do that because they are small. But Thank God you have a big team where you can give true reviews and not worry about Disney’s wrath. So keep on doing what your doing! I think many of us want true opinions instead of Disney pixie dust fantasy.

Not since days post-DLP & Pressler running things has there been so much negativity on Disney Ops. Love the honesty on Hotels, frequently stay at both Disney Owned and not...agree w you there

Not having the magical express has taken a tole on me, I don’t drive when I travel so this is going to hurt. I was going to come to Disney in February of 22. 😞

Booking a car service or getting and Uber or Lyft is easy. Once you get to the park it will be business as usual.

We were supposed to take my 9 year old son to England for his birthday gift last year (2020) in March and our trip was supposed at the start of the world shutting down. Needless to say, our trip ended up being canceled a day before we were to leave. 😭😭😭 We are making lemonade out of 🍋 🍋 and have decided to take him to Disney World this year instead! England in EPCOT will have to do for now! 😊 😊

THANK YOU! I started watching your videos for the DW information and found that I continue to watch your videos because of you and your personality. I love your crew, but I truly appreciate you doing a solo video where you can address any questions without interruption.
Your voice, personality and the pace of the content is spot on! I am decidedly a fan!

Good show. I would still like to see at least an hour show of Pete's rant. This could be a fund raiser for their give kids the world by taking pledges.
