Hey Mr. Hobs, just in case you haven't realized already, the email at the end of the video for the LGD project is LGDPROJECT@GMAIL.COM and doesn't seem to be the right email. Cheers.
Ahh Hendrix. He was just so damn cool. If anyone embodied humble, mega talented, urbane, uber-cool, gum-chewing, riff-licking, electric-lady loving, coolness...it was him.
He died 50 years ago lived half that long had a career spending a tenth of that and he is still considering the greatest guitarist rock has ever seen R.I P Jimi P.S. it's been 50 years since his death and those Sony basterds still didn't release all of JIMI'S music on RUclips
Jimi also played for James Brown and recorded a version of Day Tripper with John Lennon. Jimi took right-handed guitars and restrung them for playing left-handed. Once he started making modifications that allowed him to play left-handed with the strings in the proper order, he still had to play right-handed when his father was around, so Jimi also learned to play right-handed with the strings upside down.
Fact: his recordings with the Band of Gypsys on 12/31/69 and 1/1/70 are incredible. The original album is amazing, and several of the songs that have been released since - including versions of "Stone Free" and "Hear My Train A-Coming" - are among the best of his career. But you guys already know all of that, I am guessing.
I was working in Woodstock/ Bethel last month & got to spend some time with some of the '69 staff (INCREDIBLE stories ftr), hear some of the original stage speakers at full volume, and spend a few hours recording on the festival grounds. I listened to the Hendrix National Anthem while standing on the stage... I almost lost my mind. So fucking incredible. Those massive speakers BLARING Jimi's guitar had to have been the biggest sound on Earth in that moment... at the height of political troubles, we have a black veteran absolutely SLAY our national anthem for half of NY State to hear. To amend your video; there is no standard 'tremolo dive' in that performance, he was portraying Bombs, Crying, and Rifles undeniably.
The most interesting fact I’ve found so far was that he was left handed. His guitar was upside down and strung accordingly so he could play. He literally changed the game with how a guitar is played. I never noticed this until I started learning guitar. Pretty crazy. Check out pictures of him playing his strat, they are all upside down.
I found you through your Beatles love and dissections. Thank you for your Hendrix tribute. For me Jimi Hendrix is part of the trinity of Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix that for better or for worse legitimized Rock and Roll as an enduring art form.
Yes I heard Jimi Hendrix was a very likable person in all of his promoters and producers they all liked him a lot everybody always says what a great guy he really was I guess you could say he was a kind soul poor guy just died too young has a say to all the rock ‘n’ roll too young to die , I have also heard it excuse me while I sip my fly 👍👍🎸😷
Jimi Hendrix, born Johnny Allen Hendrix at 10:15 a.m. on November 27, 1942, at Seattle's King County Hospital, was later renamed James Marshall by his father, James “Al” Hendrix.
My favourite fact is when he lived in London with Kathy they lived in a pretty humble flat (also lived in by composer Handel 200 or so years earlier) and they used to play board games and twister, and she introduced him to Coronation Street and he liked to watch it a lot. The main guitar motif from Third Stone From the Sun is inspired by the Coronation Street theme tune.
And Mickey Dolenz is pronounced DOLE enz not DOLL enz. And he didn't play with Clapton. He played with Baker and Bruce, while Clapton sat out. A lot of these videos are just wrong.
Hendrix spent a few years in Nashville, a little known fact, where he honed his guitar skills From visitmusiccity.com....."Hendrix moved to Nashville in 1962 and it was in Music City that he honed his stage craft and began performing professionally on a regular basis. Hendrix and army friend Billy Cox formed the band The King Kasuals which served as the house band at the Club Del Morocco on Nashville's Jefferson Street."
Fun fact jimi hendrix and miles davis had intentions to form a supergroup and started jamming, jimi then sent a letter to paul mccartney asking if he's interested in joining, paul never got the letter and a few months later jimi hendrix was dead
The legend who introduced Miles Davis to her friend, Jimi Hendrix, was Miles Davis’ wife, Betty Davis who was a musical phenom her damn self ! Here’s the kicker: they were both afraid of HER. Don’t you love that??? (She recorded a couple records I still listen to on vinyl.)
Here's the deal the Drummer would of been freaking Tony Williams, the most groundbreaking innovative drummer post 1960. People say that Tony was The Hendrix of drums, no Jimi was the Tony Williams of the guitar!!!
Hey hobby. His good friend author Lee. Of LOVE.. thier 3rd album forever changes from 67 amazing. In 1970 jimmi played on a Love album. Song... the everlasting first. 👍🏻👍🏻
In 2015 or 2016 I got to see Paul McCartney in concert in pa . Well he started telling a story about jimmy Hendrix. He said that he’s be up on stage using the wammy bar n stretching the strings. He couldn’t tune his guitar soo he started yelling for Paul n Jon to help him.. hahaha Paul was like I kinda dipped down n hid
Thanks for this, not a lot I didn’t already know but thanks for keeping the flame alive. The Beatles began my love affair with rock music, but Hendrix is why I started playing guitar. Every once in while you have that generational talent that takes things in a different direction, EVH was one and Hendrix was that guy for my generation. One small note his manager , animals bassist Chas Chandler, Chas rhymes with Jazz lol
Loved video. It was very interes ring. Can you next time do 10 interesting facts about Queen or every member of the Queen ? That will make me happier than ever. Thanks for all these fun Videos.
Chandler didn’t find Jimi right away. Linda Keith was mesmerized by Jimi’s talent and personality and she presented both in a show. The rest is pretty much right.
I'm subscribed to this channel because I'm a Beatles guy. But wouldn't you know it!? I'm a Hendrix guy too! I thought that his full name was James Marshall Hendrix, though.
I don't like to be negative but a lot of facts in this video are only researched in a superficial way. There is a very authoritative book on his life - ' Jimi Hendrix ' by Caesar Glebbeek, which covers the details of his enlistment in the army and the reasons for it. As other people have pointed out the Animals' bass player was Chas Chandler not Chase Chandler. The tour with the Monkees. was an error of judgement by Mike Jeffries I think.
Brother i m. From nepal n really like to know if jimmy Hendrix visited in my homw town nepal..... Cause it will be a myth.. Can u plz make video on that
You are mispronouncing Chas Chandler's name. You say Chase...like I will chase you around the house. I is pronounced "Chaz" like Jazz. Hope this helps.
TBF, perhaps it was for the best that Hendrix died. I think if he was alive, despite us getting more great music, other guitarists like Tony Iommi, Eddie Van Halen, Prince, etc would never leave their mark upon the world thanks to Hendrix making their discoveries before they could
americas christian racists and overall prejudice towards black people almost stopped hendrix from becoming known, now think about how different the music scene would be today if he never was discovered.
Hey guys! Make sure to email your photos for the LONG GONE DAYS MUSIC VIDEO. ........ lgdhobs@gmail.com.
You left out so much of many of those stories. Chas Chandler in the audience? Yes but the story of why is was there was kind of important
Bhai, what part of India your family come from? I'm in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. Love the channel!!!

CHAS Chandler, short for Charles, not "Chase".

I named my son. Jake Hendrix 👶🏻 I once met Jim Marshall who told me some fantastic stories about what a wonderful person Jimi was. ☮️
The father actually changed the name because Jimi’s mother had an affair with the man Jimi was named after so he changed Jimi’s name
Can i just say thank you. Really means alot this year learning from RUclipsrs bringing Jimi to be relevant
