Another great review. I'm glad to hear the Genie shock is more than marketing hype. So much of that these days. Also, it is refreshing that Specialized chose to enhance/market a core part of what it is to own a Full Suspension bike vs. a more gimmicky feature like KIS. I'd really like to ride one and see how it feels. Great comparison pedaling efficiency to the Switchblade. That really helped. I'm excited to hear how it compares to the Ari too. In the final video?
The Ari is significantly more playful while this is a bit more in that all mountain category! Both are amazing but I would ask yourself what you’re looking for from your next bike! A few more bikes too go to!
Do you get any clunking when going off drops or through big bumps on the trail? I also have the S5 expert and it's silent except for this clunk on bigger impacts. Still no solution from Specialized for this. I still absolutely LOVE my Stumpy 15 though. It's such a good bike and can be so easily tweaked to be more short travel trail or more "enduro" just by adjusting the volume spacers in the shock. It makes a BIG difference.
Guess what happens when you put a Vivid Air shock on the old Stumpjumper Evo?? It basically does the same thing as this genie shock but is more capable and more affordable. Get a used STEVO and a Black Friday sale Vivid air shock for it and you are ready to rock!
Adjustable chain stays can cause issues with SRAM UDH and fitting Transmission derailleurs, I know on my RM Altitude, I would have to run my adjustable stays in the long position (which is where I keep them anyway) to run a UDH or Transmission. I'm surprised they specced Mavens, that seems massively overkill for a trail bike, and perhaps Codes would be the better choice of SRAM brakes for it.
Interesting! And I actually like the mavens over the codes, I keep over heating my codes on longer steep downhills but I definitely think the mavens need some pad contact adjustment!
Really hoping this series can help me pick out the perfect bike to be an "all rounder" and race some enduro. 150mm up front is what i wanted but I really keep leaning towards the transition sentinel. Carbon frame. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm not big on specialized and trek. I do like the new stumpy 15.
Watching these reviews are great, I love watching them too. That’s said, all of these bikes are honestly amazing and you can’t go wrong with any of them. No bike will be “holding you back“ from doing a race. Pick one that you think is cool, maybe invest in some coaching, and go for it!
I think since they eliminated like the evo and have just one frame design for the stumpy now that they had to compromise on some of the numbers like bb height, sounds like better with a 160 fork up front. I just bought a Revel Rail this year, but when this stumpy came out I was wishing I had it instead! I would love to get ahold of the Genie shock for my Revel Rail, bet it would work awesome on it .
It’s interesting because I really like it with the 150 but personal preference for sure!! That genie on your revel would be insane!!! Pro bike has some on order, that shock will do great!!!
@ problem is the measurements I think are different for my rail compared to to stumpy shock eye to eye. I’ll definitely get ahold of these guys and see if it will even fit, if does I’ll try it out. I’m not really liking the rock shock rear shock on the rail.
We tried to reach out to them for both this and XC project and never heard anything back. Unfortunately it’s pretty tough to figure out who the marketing contacts are especially at bigger companies. If you know anyone there feel free to have them reach out!
Dude. Love your vids. But if I may add, don’t have to rush when talking yea bro. The audience wanna absorb what you’re saying and the moving imagery.. Feels like both the video and speech are at a high speed for us to appreciate all of it.. Nonetheless, kudos on the success so far and keep churning more awesome contents yea 💪🏻🦾
Would want a 10mm adjustment option with minimal changes to bb height of possible, the s5 going from 445 to 435 is what I would be looking for! That’s why I asked you that one day haha!
The 150/160mm travel Stumpy Evo was probably the best Trail bike that Specialized ever made. I'm doubtful that the new 145/150mm travel Stumpy is as good. If the new Stumpy came with a 160mm fork, it might be as good as the old Stumpy Evo. Putting on a 160mm fork would probably fix the low bottom bracket issues.
The stumpy evo was awesome, this is like that but feels better to me. I also like the look for the new link set up too! 160mm fork would be rad on here but I enjoyed the 150. Great bike for sure!
No mechanical drivetrain compatibility, no buy from me. If i was ever forced to run one of these frames I'd tape full length cable housing to it and run mechanical XT on it out of spite. What an asinine design decision by specialized
No thanks, no ability to run a cable derailleur, I don't know what specialized were thinking! you can run one on the alloy model, but the alloy model is damn heavy, weighing about the same as a XL 2021 Trek Slash 7 enduro bike
@@kentao4 but it doesn't hurt to include cable routing as it doesn't prevent you from running wireless drivetrains. Specialized is just alienating a good portion of potential customers with this dumb design decision. It's like when smartphones stopped including a headphone jack
@ lol I get it. I welcomed both because I hate wired anything. Frame looks cleaner without rubber plugs that go missing and phones don’t get as easily water damaged. Silver lining in each.
So is there any real benefit to buying this extraordinarily overpriced stumpy vs the previous gen? I feel like these reviews were saying the same exact thing about the asymmetrical frame previous design.
Why is it extraordinary overpriced? In my opinion as for the bike, yes especially if you are in the market for a new bike. The new link is significantly stiffer and the bike looks so good! This would be high on my list if I was in the market for a new bike. Also love the adjustability and that genie shock is so awesome!! I don’t think it’s over priced either, alloy and carbon offerings and many different price points
This channel deserves millions of subscribers!
Great job,guys.
Happy trails
Thanks so much!!!
The boys at PBS are making my Stumpy now cant wait!
They are awesome for sure!! Mark and the crew will dial you in!!!
Mark did. Put up with all my newbie questions and dialed in perfect custom build

Best intro Mo!

Love that same intro😊

Thanks for the review. How do you feel about a 160 on the front vs the standard 150?
I actually really like it!! Felt super balanced,
Maybe if I had the genie with a piggie reservoir I would consider a 160!
@@moandhannahtravel Thanks! Just picked up my frameset!
Thanks for presenting!
Thanks for watching!!!
How would this work out for east coast New England tight tech trails. Would you choose this over the SB ?
Nice work Mo
Thank you!!!!

Great vid. Never heard of that shop so had to check it out! Nice inventory but prices to high. I'll stick with Jenson
Let Pro Bike know you are a friend of the channel and the prices get awesome!! 😉

@tttass it's a big decision for me, that's a new woman in my life. Just cant seem to decide on one this year. Too many options. Lol. Thank you!! 🤙
So many great bikes, you really can’t go wrong! But hopefully this series helps you make your decision!!!!

Mo and Hannah. Nice video demo. What about the Specialized Stumpjumper S3 Is it a good Bike?
no bike from Scott Mo, what’s up with that?

Man, are you pedaling up stair steps? That's a hike a bike for me.
The high/ Low does change the chainstay length. 5mm difference

@moandhannahtravel i love it in the long/ low setting. It just feels better balanced with a 160mm fork
You know bikes too! Almost as many bikes owned as me, maybe even more! Hope all is well! 🤘🏾
S4 435 to 445 🙏.

For me the Evo is perfect! The best bike I’ve owned by a mile
Specialized sell a version with a 160mm fork. Buy that one

Can you go brunei again pls
We've upgraded the trails
We will try!!!!
Is this is the Stumpjumper 15 alloy S3 on this video?
the tires are 2.3 on paper but they measure 2.4. you should know that by now.
I would want 2.6 on here!

Hard pass for me. That V3 sentinel is golden
“Literally” a monster truck?
I guess that would be figuratively lol

Yeah that’s a bummer but I’m not really interested in going back to cables. If anything I would want AXS instead of transmission!
Totally agree!!! I was going to get a frame set until I seen that.
Because cables are a PITA. Once I got axs I was sure I’m never going back. It’s just too good and easy to adjust when needed.
