Thx so much for posting! I have the exact same set-up on my 2001 CS Showmaster - dlx locking trem, roller bridge and locking tuners... Nice instrument but a pain in the --- to set up...🤩
On my Strat Deluxe from the same era the push-push button doesn’t split the humbucker. What it does, mostly, is change the phasing of the various pickups. My understanding it is their attempt to mimic a Gibson with it’s two humbuckers among other things. In the neck position, for example, it changes the sound from, well, a Strats neck puck-up to something a bit more like a Gibson neck pickip
So if anyone cares I got a 93 deluxe plus Strat w/ this bridge. Originally it's a Fender/ Floyd Rose and with a Hipshot Tremsetter set up on it mine's been set to whammy up and down for 27 yrs w/o adjustments. I use 9's on my Strat and usually Fender strings. I gigged this guitar off and on for yrs but now we don't go out as much. Fantastic guitar
To each their own. I don't bother cutting the ball ends off strings with guitars that have a locking bridge. I string the ball end through the tuners and just cut the string at the bridge and lock it in place. The main advantage is that there isn't any sharp ends to poke children at the headstock. A handy thing if you have guitars laying around where children wander. If you're single and you don't have kids around, forget about it and do what you like.
@@jubjub905 Clearly, you've never done this. If you had, you will know that there is ALWAYS enough room to do this. Regardless of the brand of strings you use. I've never had a problem with strings that were not "wound to the top" or whatever that means. It just works. If the strings lock at the bridge, string them from the tuner down to the bridge. The ball-end becomes your lock. Cut the strings like normal and secure it with the locking mechanism at the bridge. It is super simple to do.
I think if you have kids messing around your probably doing a bad job parenting, I’ve accidentally poked myself a few times with guitar string ends and it was the most interesting pain I’ve felt in my lifetime
@@Zamn_daniel Have you ever lived in a house with children? They manage to get into everything they see the adults show interest in. If they see you holding a guitar and doing things with it, they WILL find a way to touch it too. I know this ahead of time and I string my guitars in a way that won't harm them. How does that make me a bad parent?
@@chadwickhurlburt6529 I’m not saying you are a bad parent I’m just saying most people probably don’t bother taking care of their kids. Try living with 8 dogs it’s way worse dude, im still in high school and there’s kids that act way worse than children and they’re literally the same age around me which is why I’m stating some parents are just shit at their job.
Nice presentation, thank you. - Il would have been nice to demonstrate how to set up the intonation and the saddles high on this bridge (Fender Floyd Rose Stratocaster Locking Tremolo Bridge for USA Strat Plus, Deluxe + Std.) - Does anyone have the functioning instructions of this rare bridge? - jd
Steve, I installed the deluxe trem on my Strat like you said. Now the retaining clip that holds the whammy bar broke. How hard is that to replace? Thanks.
@@ManotickGuitarTech absolutely. Hell, I was trying to see how far you were away from Michigan in the US. For the first time, I was thinking about bringing you a couple of guitars. Awesome work bro.
I have this exact same guitar made in 2/05 Does this bridge provide more tuning stability? If I switch it out does the guitar lose value? Can I get the action lower with the other bridge you recommended? My guitar guy put shims in under the aluminum blocks to get correct height. Is that correct? Thanks.
Thanks for watching, David - I hope you have subscribed to my channel? I would not recommend this bridge to anyone - change it for a standard Fender tremolo... it is so much better and fully adjustable. Keep the old bridge and if you ever sell the guitar, include it with the sale.
That is the problem with this bridge, you have to do it from the underside of the bridge by partially taking apart the trem block. Terrible design and should just be replaced. Thanks for watching and I hope you have subscribed to my channel?
@@ManotickGuitarTech Oh ok thank you for clarifying! that definitely is a terrible design that I personally would never want to deal with. I’ve been subscribed to your channel since last year really big fan!
You're wrong about the intonation. This is done by pushing the tremolo arm down which raises the adjustment screws so they can be accessed on ther underside of the block using a hex wrench with a very short bend. There is no need to take apart anything.
Not sure it is always necessary, David. I use pencil lead, lithium grease, lots of stuff...never bought any special product. If the nut is cut right the strings shouldn't bind.

Would love to know where to find replacement cylinder parts that lock the strings in place.

That assumes you’re using strings wound all the way to the top.

What do you think of the blade runner bridges?

Can you remove them bridge saddles and put on vegatrem ? More info please
You probably can - just have to make sure it is a model for 2 posts at the front and not 6 screws
@@ManotickGuitarTech it's not 2 posts but 2 screws each side that go into 6 of the 4 screw holes. I am not sure if I understand what you mean.
Where on the bridge would you adjust the action and intonation if needed?

Annoying to intonate but a very good trem for staying in tune esp w lsr and locking tuners
That bridge is more trouble then its worth. Not one of their best ideas.
