I dunno how recent this feature is but you can now set custom video playback rates outside the normal presets, under the play speed option, and ticking this to I think 1.15x gets you SRW J tempo! Sick.
i wish that they would release the complete series on blu-ray or dvd in the united states
They already did and are going to release the OVAs in November!

Because Dancouga Nova main pilot is a Mary Sue named 'hidaka aoi', if you ask me
