I'm wondering if Mitose made an effort to distinguish his lineage from Okinawa because of the two paths kempo had into Japan. Samurai and Buddhist monks had kempo from china before non aristocrat civilians got it from Okinawa. But then later he is influenced by the Okinawan training. This is really a question. What do other people think.
I know Hanshi Ray Arquilla very well. He was a high ranking guard at Folsom prison when Grand Master James Mitose was there. Thus allowing him unlimited access to Mitose. If anyone knew James Mitose Ray Arquilla would be the one.. Funny you didn't interview him... Is your opinion biased?.... I also know Hanshi Bruce Jucknic, I understand he visited James Mitose which would have given him limited access...... Also I suggest you do your research in regards to the 1st mainland school / Dojo.. In Fact according to Black Belt Magazine Volume 1 edition 1 it was Ed Parker who opened the 1st Dojo, so am I to belive You or Black Belt magazine?... LOL... I'll go with the #1 issue in 1960 of Black Belt magazine!.... I can't hit a like or suscvribe as I feel this is Biased and misleading. Oss
How is this misleading? We did a bit of research but no, this was not a multi-week research endeavor. We've never claimed we get everything right - and we acknowledge our missteps when it happens. If you'd like to post your links and evidence - respectfully - so that everyone can learn, that would be appreciated. ~jeremy
There was another guard that trained & helped facilitate Juchnik to meet Mitose, plus back then visitation was way more laxed,& they were able to be in rooms & even outside with Mitose, from what I've heard, also Trias was possibly the first Dojo in U.S
@@Frank-uw5xq I happen to know Ray Arquilla was a Capt. of gaurds at Folsom,.. and according to Black Belt magazine Vol.1, Issue 1 Ed Parker was the 1st to open a Mainland Dojo...Are you saying BBmag Vol1 issue1 is Wrong?

Simple, Genetics! These remarks show either a low level of intelligence or just a bad attitude! Even at Bruce's size and age you both would find it hard to impossible to defeat him in combat or sparing. The public records on display about Master Mitosi are wildly inaccurate. The remarks about Fraud are nothing more than SLANDER! Be Careful! God Bless!

@@DavidLee-no9uc oh cool history, now do you have a dojo now or still training at all
Did you ever get his book? I have found the PDFs scanned from the original publications online.
I've had the chance to read through it, but no, I haven't purchased it. -jeremy
I own a copy of mitose book and doshin so book... doshin so book is much better
Does this guy have to smack his lips when he talks
Hey, I was still new to this. No need to be rude.
Any reason why one of James Mitose's students told a lie on him?
No idea ~jeremy
What is the reason that Juchnik fabricated his whole history and rank ?
Really nice podcast, but a bit boring, I like the fact that you talk about people like James Mitose.
Thank you for listening. We're always open to suggestions on how to improve.
I make the same mistakes with my podcast and am also trying to improve all the time.
as a live long Kenpo man why are so many so large? Seems we should set an example for our students. Just makes sense to be trimmer. Just saying
It's not just a Kenpo problem, but yes, I agree. We even did an episode on the subject. -jeremy
