It is absolutely balance shattering just how many speed potions you can get even without min-maxing, they are encounter deciding most of the time and they drown you in them.
Voidbulb is up there with my favorite items in the game, especially in act 1, when enemies die slowly compared to the rest of the game, being able to say "get back in there lol" to entire crowds trying their best to escape clouds of daggers, hunger of hadar, or sleet sleet storms not only turns fights off but is hilarious as a byproduct
Hopefully people coming across these videos are encouraged to use their consumables. When you start experimenting in BG3 with your resources you open up a whole new level of power but a lot of people are afraid to.
My friends and I went through almost all of act 1 without using consumables and we struggled alot. In my solo save I thought I'd try using more of them and it made the game so much easier in the early game that I stockpiled a ton of potions and stuff. I love that consumables are meant to be used in this game
Most games I barely touch them as the usually don’t matter. Pillars had some use, but thats rare for me. I started a new BG3 run, and Using them on my Range/magic limited party to extend theur Versatility. It is working well through ACT 1. I am saving Barrels for uses later as well. You never know when you might need some barrel goods.
The man. Is thorough 🔥🔥🔥 also remember if you're just popping in to check a bit of info and have time to let it run for a while that helps the algorithm not think you left cause you're not interested
Your videos have been a huge help. I only have the house of grief and house of hope left to do before before going after the elder brain in honour mode. Thank you
Ouh I needed this video, although I don't play on harder difficulties because it gets a bit meta this is useful for those hard fights! Great guide as always.
Lack of noblestalk is a crime, cost an action but cures and heals 100%. can only get it in act 3 if you give Derith the noble stalk and save her POS husband. but then you can buy it daily. meant to say it on the intial potion video but I'll drop it here. Still love the videos bro
Just a heads up that you do NOT have to save her POS husband to buy the noblestalk in Act 3. You can let her live her best life and even bring her a cat to live with in Baldurs Gate
One more thing about the Elixir of Heroism; it adds 1d4 to attack and also 1d4 to saving throws, just like bless, and it stacks with Bless and Resistance, making it very crucial for story events like the Zaithisk.
How many sparrows do we encounter in the game though? Halfway through act 2 and didn't see a single sparrow, it's always blue jays or something. Are they in the city perhaps?
On the subject of separativg Bloodlust Elixir out of S+ tier, it doesn't do anything literally actually gamebreaking. It doesn't give you the equivalent of 2 talents and 19 skill points in Strength like the Cloud Giant does. The fact that enemies roll a D4 for initiative while Vigilance gives +5 is extremely silly. By comparison Bloodlust is just an extra action. And sure, an extra action is insane, but it's not *literally* causing unintended interactions.
Yeah, exactly! Bloodlust is still operating within the bounds of the rules, even if it's incredibly pushed, whereas the S+ elixirs just let you break the rules entirely
You once again forgot the Kobold Firewine Barrels. I think there are 3 of them in that one room, all can be found by looking for the popups above the barrels that show snoring/other sounds coming from within.
I’m guessing it’s cephalopod (the scientific name for squids, octopuses, cuttlefish) combined with apocalypse. An apocalypse of squids-like the plot of BG3
S+ - Titanstring Bow, Bhaalist Armor, Helldusk Armor (Act 1), Silver Sword Of The Astral Plane (Act 1), Deathstalker's Mantle, Markoheshkir, Amulet Of Greater Health S - Hill Giant Club, Armor Of Persistance, Helldusk Gloves (both), Caustic Brand, Cloak Of Protection, Cloak Of Displacement, Cloak Of The Weave, Adamantine Splint, Horns Of Berserker, Spellsparkler, Callous Glow Ring, Gauntr Mael (the bow from Steelwatcher Titan) A+ - Darkfire Longbow, Hill Giant Gloves, Robe Of The Weave, Mask Of Soul Perception. Those are some notable for me, obviously it varies from build to build and some are interchangeable, but yeah.
The amount of work this video took should probably be insane. As a person who suffers from, i will probably use this better later and never use syndrome, this video is a god sent.
Thanks for the video ❤Please create a playlist on your channel with the Bg3 tier lists. Sometimes I wanna go back to some of your videos and it’s kind of hard to find them
I remember learning about the arrow of many targets and specific slayings all right before the last fight with Raphael I was asking myself why did I make everything so much harder LOL
I tend to keep backpacks with hand fulls of smoke powder grenades (and the occasional barrel) on my strongest character, so they can still be pretty useful in the later stages of the game. Huck a pack with 4-5 bombs into a group of trash so it breaks, then hit it with fire to clear small groups of trash. I'm sure there are more effective ways of dealing with things, but satchel charging a bunch of jerks and sending them flying is just too much fun!
My solo HM Fire Sorcerer was completely cracked out of his mind when he was on that Speed Potion + Bloodlust Elixir Drug cocktail. Even on the rare turns where he was incapacitated due to the potion wearing off, he still had the chance to proc the Shield spell with his reaction. The first five levels were very dicey, but once he had Fire Acuity Hat and the Slow spell, it was GG lol

Yep no kidding, even without buying them you can easily end up with dozens just lying around by the midgame

"...drugs are more important than pants."
I love it when fantasy games have some realism in them and teach valuable life lessons.
Pants are an illusion… and so is DEATH

Found your channel recently and just wanted to mention I've been really impressed with your thoroughness and research that goes into these videos.
Invaluable BG3 info, as per all of your BG content.
Your videos have been a huge help. I only have the house of grief and house of hope left to do before before going after the elder brain in honour mode. Thank you
Good luck!!!
Best channel about BG3 strategies
Thanks very much!

@@annemowdy391 OMG I thought you had to this whole time! Thank you internet stranger!
@@PhantomSteveAV No problem! You do have to get her that mushroom, but you can totally "accidentally" set the field on fire afterwards 😈

Hey cephalo, could you please pleas pls pls epls do an illithid powers tierlist?😭🫶
You once again forgot the Kobold Firewine Barrels. I think there are 3 of them in that one room, all can be found by looking for the popups above the barrels that show snoring/other sounds coming from within.
I didn't test it, but I think I noticed that a critical miss with many target arrow turns into a critical hit on all subsequent targets :-)
Do you still plan on tiering the Ilithid Powers?
This has helped immensely.
Awesome!
I never understand how and what is "arcane" to use it correctly
Hi @Cephalopocalypse, loving the content. Keep it up. One question, what is the origin of your name?
I’m guessing it’s cephalopod (the scientific name for squids, octopuses, cuttlefish) combined with apocalypse. An apocalypse of squids-like the plot of BG3
Yep Gina is right, but no particular origin, I just thought it was funny 15 years ago :P
hell yeah
whadda king
For the algy
Cheers!
Dude, no offense, but even when you try to condense it all you cannot help but be exhaustingly longwinded. This video should take 5 min tops
Dude, no offense, but given how poorly you come off in this comment why would someone be interested in taking communication style advice from you?
Any chance you plan to do gear? Boots, shields, gloves, rings! We need your help!
I'll second that one
I’ll third. Highly needed fire a complete portfolio of vids.
Yes please.

So sad i'm not getting the Sparrow Slaying Arrow on my evil run... Gonna miss that amazing effect.
BARRELS OP
Thanks so much for the support! It's true they are the unsung heroes of baldur's gate
